  1. Our boys definitely need more test matches but as Ermolenko pointed out they need test matches in Poland to get something working on the big pacey tracks.
  2. I did notice that, Rib although it was under two different names.
  3. This sounds like a similar format i came up with a few years ago which I think would work and it makes it a team event. I think mine though swapped pairings about during the meeting and the last few heats ended up so that all the 1s and 2s raced each other again. I binned it so can't remember now.
  4. Notice Bridger isn't waving his leg all over the place there. That was only 2 years ago. Ok he was still at the back but as I remember he looked a much better rider then than he does now. He has to change his ways because unfortunately his ways have changed him. Good race though, remember it well.
  5. A two minute conversation at about 3pm on the day of the GP will get me the seats I want. Ie, anywhere I like for £25 each.
  6. As far as I know he has cleaned up his act and has moved on from all his troubles a fair while ago now. I'm not sure your comment of him "doing something dodgy if he needed the money" is very fair, since I believe he has served his time and deserves a chance to put things right. He's older and wiser and seems to be in a much better place than he was a few years ago. Yes, he says he wouldn't do anything differently but I'm a big believer in never having regrets. What's done is done and having regrets only hampers the rest of your life. I'm sure if he really could live his life again with the knowledge he has now he would do things differently despite what he says. The reality is we can't live our lives again so to regret our past would do us no good in the future, and I think that is more the thrust of his sentiment. That's his life, he can't go back and change what happened and it's made him what he is today, whatever your views on him. Let's not forget, apart from his errors he also has a lot to be proud of.
  7. Nothing out of context. I quoted your sentence that I replied to, which you then changed in your next post to mean something totally different. I'll hold my hand up and admit my post was harsh and I apologise for that but whilst lecturing me on how to conduct myself without the use of insults you couldn't resist doing the same. Twice.
  8. Hmm. You need to practice what you preach. Ok, let me remind you of what you said: "The time will come when Gollob starts to look well past his sell-by date and starts going downhill, just as all the others did eventually. Perhaps that's the best time to assess him." It's clear for all to see, and people have agreed with me. Now you try to back pedal with "In my opinion the best time to judge a riders qualities is when we look back on his career with hindsight." Maybe you need to write it in more simple terms so you can grasp what you're saying?
  9. Who scored 11 points. I've said it before, every team lost a key rider and every rider (and indeed every person there) was affected by Gundersen's crash. Someone had to win it and England did. They won it fair and square.
  10. Hope you have better luck than I did.. I once attended a wedding and asked the guy behind the bar to put the GP on. It didn't go down too well with the guests or the mrs but I didn't take much notice.
  11. I guess what I meant was a bad one by his high standards. I didn't check but thought he finished lower down but may have been thinking of 1986.
  12. Why? Just because they had their problems in the past does that mean they shouldn't be allowed to pass on their vast knowledge to the boys? One advantage they would have is that they know the pitfalls and have paid the price, nobody is better qualified to give advice than those who have experience. Lee especially knows what it takes to become the best being twice world champion but he also knows how easily it can all go wrong. If you have kids you will know the importance of acting on experience to try and ensure your kids don't make the same mistakes you did. We've all made them. As Chris Morton once said, "Better to learn from other people's mistakes than your own."
  13. I don't think so. As far as I know Woffy stopped using TSR that's all. Can't see Lee falling out with Woffy over it.
  14. What teams would you have put out then at: Kings Lynn 1 2 3 4 5 Gorzow 1 2 3 4 5
  15. Personally I was just please to see Poland win it with Johnny Knoxville in the team!
  16. Sky are actually correct as the World Cup has only been in existence since 2001. Before that it was the World Team Cup. Pedantic possibly, but true.
  17. Hilarious! So let's judge Ivan Mauger as a mediocre league rider for Exeter in 1984. Let's judge Tony Rickardsson as a man who suffered concussion and pulled out of the GP after a couple of dodgy meetings and retired quietly. Let's judge Erik Gundersen on his last World Final finishing nowhere. Let's judge Sam Ermolenko as the aging mediocre rider struggling for points in his final season. Or Shawn Moran as the guy who lost his bottle and quit Premier League equivalent. If you think that's how everyone remembers world class riders then you don't know much at all.
  18. That was the World Pairs, which I'd like to see brought back alongside the SWC. My only gripes with SWC is the jokers and the fact that a team event has an individual format. There should be two teams of two riders in each race. It can be done.
  19. Ah, well it sounds like it's never been done so it will definitely be full of rubbish. Depends what browser you're using. If it's chrome click the spanner,(top right) then click under the bonnet, clear browser data, (choose beginning of time.) It will take a while if it's never been cleared. Best to try and do it every week or so if possible. If you aren't on chrome I'm sure someone will put you right on what to do.
  20. Might be your PC. Clear your Internet history as that can slow it down if it's full of crap.
