  1. "Team GB" are no longer part of the UK Promoter's umbrella anymore are they? So maybe those who do run it have plans for the Friday already? Maybe there are also some FIM regs re racing the night before in the SON given the risk of injury? Although if there is, it hasnt stopped Poland running Fridays before a GP... Possibly media work involved too on the Friday? Presuming Tom B is the U21 selection obviously...
  2. To be fair JTS I dont think there is too much 'anger' on here towards either Adam or the UK Promoters.. It's more resigned Mickey taking due to the fact that such things happen so regularly.. Riders clearly can't be in two places at once so the authorities should just explain why one is missing... And if any riders feels he has got misrepresented by that explanation then he should speak up with the real reason... That "let's make something up" culture has existed for far too long across the whole operating model, and unfortunately in todays 24/7 social media world, any clear evidence which clearly contradicts what is said is quickly put out to the world for all to see.. As you yourself have said several times.. The UK promoters cant even get a sponsor for their leagues after so many years of TV coverage.. No real surprise why that situation exists is there?
  3. Given it is effectively the "World Cup Of Speedway" you would imagine the teams would want to spend time together the day before it, (at least), wouldnt you..? And given it will be the biggest meeting of his career you would also think riding elsewhere the night before could be a bit distracting, not to mention problematic for the team (and the actual event), should he get injured...
  4. But ultimately it is the promoters who (by allowing such nonsense to happen), who sadly do the most damage... With the greatest of ironies being that they do the damage ultimately to themselves... Its an incredible concept to consider how these people so effortlessly undue so much of their fine work and dedication in keeping the sport going in this country, by willingly allowing so many ludicrous situations to take place... Be a great subject to have for a psychological Uni Degree I would suggest... Many have said often that it no longer is a "proper sporting league competition" anymore, but simply a formula put together to allow riders the chance to earn as much as they can, as often as they can, as individuals, riding under some contrived "flag(s) of convenience".... I dont think that it's even pretending to be anything more than that anymore is it?
  5. His team did used to be called the "Saints" so you never know......
  6. Luckily October last year was the No1 month for rainfall in the UK in 2020. So, given Speedway doesn't rely on dry days and evenings to take place... Absolutely no worries I am sure...
  7. Did the RAC get there within the hour? If not, the Ambulance service should get a months payment reimbursed...
  8. Untenable? They are the ones voted in to the positions by all the others... Presumably as they are regarded as the best...
  9. Well said... Where would such madness end?...
  10. The beauty of the way they run the sport means you can rearrange any meeting ad Infinitum.. As all you need is a ring round to see if you can get 14 random riders (12 at a push), to all to arrive at any given track at the same time, and some of those big over sized T shirt things in club colours for the lads to wear.. And hey presto, you have two teams to compete in UK Speedway.. I think Scunthorpe trialled the concept, albeit on a smaller scale, tonight...
  11. Unless it gets called off again on Tuesday... Relapse time...
  12. Have plenty of Ambulances been ordered? Can never have too many it would appear....
  13. I think the words "downward spiral" are a bit of a misnomer... As it suggests that they still have some way to go to reach rock bottom.. They dont....
  14. Any restaging might cost Scunthorpe a few quid as they may have to turn up with a full team... Ambulance MOT's being cancelled all over the Midlands as I type.....
  15. Can they not start the meeting due to the health and safety issue of the Ambulance not being there...? Or is it because the driver is in Scunthorpe's team.?
  16. I am sure the official ruling will be "it's in the interests of Speedway" to gloss over it....
  17. No doubt we will have another in depth interview linked up on here next season with a Promoter of a closed down track saying how surprised he was that he couldn't get enough people through the doors.... They just don't get it do they?
  18. The best we can hope for is maybe an eight team top league with all riders doubling down.. It is clear the riders need to have (at least) two teams to make it pay as a "professional rider" and with no chance of them becoming "semi pro" anytime soon what we have as the status quo will remain... It clearly doesn't work from any perspective if the sport is to be ever taken seriously from fans and media but it is what it is...
  19. If that is his plan... And I say 'if'... Then the rules allow him to do it (rules agreed by all), therefore there is nothing wrong.... I am amazed fans still pay money to this lot who run it, but whilst they do, they deserve everything they get, as, due to their very presence, they condone and endorse what goes on... And also by condoning and endorsing how the sport is ran (in the UK) also pretty much take away their right to complain..
  20. Just another night at the Speedway.... (In the UK)... Roll up! Roll up! Form an orderly queue please...
  21. You might be very well correct.. Bottom line is that not many will really care as long as the two finals are full of good racing... Me for one...
  22. This forum would be a lot more boring without them... Good. Bad. Or Indifferent...
