I would like to see a league set up that allows any meeting to be planned in when the majority of riders will knowingly be missing, thus meaning lots of guest riders to bring 'variety' to the watching public. The very fact that there are so many riders in attendance, from so many different clubs around the country, will more than make up for any lack of integrity in the arranging of (and obviously the outcome) of the match.. Maybe also put together a 'heat leader' list whereby teams can have only two from it? However the obvious caveat to that is to ensure certain 'heat leader' calibre riders are omitted so teams can end up with effectively three 'heat leader level' riders whilst others struggle to get two decent ones.. And finally, allow the four teams who qualify for the play offs the opportunity to bring in ringers from other teams on a 'horses for courses' basis. Not only would this increase their chances of victory in the play offs but also de-value the importance of 112 qualification matches preceding them... Food for thought maybe? A bit too radical possibly? Watch this space...

But surely they must? After all, it's "win at all costs"... Isn't it? Well according to one of Poole's most prominent posters on here it is.. So the least anyone should expect is that all teams ride roughshod over the sports rules in their quest to win surely?

Isn't it quite sad that the the sports' premier competition in this country is becoming nothing much more than a competition to see 'who can bring the best ringer in'? Makes a mockery of the term 'Champions' doesn't it? By the way.. 10 out of 10 for whoever scheduled the 'rain off date' for the same night as the play off finals in Sweden... Good call... Will add loads to the credibility of the play offs in this country as Kelvin, Nige and co explain why riders are missing and replaced by others...

Hopefully tonight the Wolves fans will let 'the rest of the nation' watching on Sky, hear and see what far too many people think of the way Poole constantly manipulate situations, that whilst within the rules, are often nowhere nearly close enough to the spirit of them... As it appears the Promoters of the Sport won't make any feelings felt as to the way this nonsense is allowed to perpetuate, (probably because they know next week they may need to do the same), then maybe it's time us fans do something? (And that isn't to just walk away as far too many have done that already).. Let's hear the Wolves fans make a racket tonight and show abject displeasure towards the Poole team. (So much noise that the commentators have to explain why!!...) Best of luck to Wolves tonight..

Does anyone know... Did Bjarne have a 'settled night'? I know I struggled for sleep, pacing up and down the hallway outside my bedroom with worry . Let's all hope the scan shows no lasting damage and (as soon as the play offs are over obviously, that goes without saying) he can resume his career.. Best wishes too to Rohan. Who thankfully has been able to take the guest booking at such short notice. I see he has been 'rather good' around the NSS this year too? Not sure if anyone from Poole has noticed his performances there this year but they could do a lot worse than keep him as a guest round there if they and the Aces reach the final. It would be like having another heat leader around the place.. A bit radical maybe, but something Poole may want to consider..?

Which will now be regarded going forward as being roughly the same length of time as 'about a week'...😁

They do appear 'jinxed' don't they? And always at the same time every year? ie. Around mid to late September through to early October.. Maybe they should get a local priest in or something to exorcize the stadium from evil spirits, or get some dog with one ear or other, in to piss on every entrance to each corner of the track to give good luck...? Sends a shiver down your spine just thinking about how cruel fate is to them...🤓

As the term refers specifically to the play offs. You would expect (to facilitate a replacement) the 'long term' injury must be expected to last (at least) the length of the play offs.. Otherwise (like you do all year) a guest or RR would be the call to cover the 'short term' issue.. Hans' injury has lasted less than one week of the play offs. So can hardly be described as 'long term' therefore no longer fitting the criteria within which Poole applied for his replacement... Not saying Poole have cheated or been deliberately economical with the truth, however now Hans is back riding, surely he must now ride over here too? And Poole face consequences for having a facility that (honestly applied for I am sure) they shouldn't have had? Anyway, more importantly, God Speed for Bjarne.. In a properly ran sport there is always sanction against any team found retrospectively to have mis-led the League by requesting and ultimately receiving 'special dispensation' when they actually were not eligible to get it... A dim view of 'seeking to gain an unlawful advantage' is taken in virtually all properly ran sports... (Whether a 'genuine' mistake or not as 'ignorance is no defence') Thank goodness for Poole that this is Speedway and not a properly ran sport eh? Wouldn't surprise anyone if CVS headed up their defence case!!?😀😂 Edit: Just had a thought... Presuming today hasn't caused any aggravation to Hans' 'season ending (but only in Britain) injury' Could the Wolves promotion team now put a protest in tomorrow night against Lindback's inclusion based on it being 'unlawful'. Even though his inclusion was sanctioned by the Wolves promoter...?😂 And some people actually complain that the wider national press doesn't take the sport seriously...😂

As the rules clearly state in the play offs that you can only replace an injured rider, I presume now that Hans isn't injured he can no longer be replaced and will slot back into Poole's team tomorrow..? Buster? Rob? Chris? Anyone....?

Hypothetically of course.. Which riders could Bomber guest for if needed on Monday at Wolves? Obviously in case anyone possibly (suddenly) aggravates a previously long standing but never made public (as he didnt want anyone to know), injury over this weekend. The sort of injury that a 'day or twos' rest will sort.. Or maybe someone comes down with a 24hr Flu bug, contracted probably whilst flying, and we all know how notoriously those air cons on planes can effect you (and these lads do some flying don't they?) Or maybe even, one of the lads may need some time out from his job to deal with personal or domestic issues etc and simply by missing just that one night at Wolves on Monday he will be at peace with himself, refreshed, get his life sorted, and be ready to face the world and continue his career from Tuesday morning.....,😲 Be good to see all 14 Wolves and Poole riders there on Monday....

You can easily see a case for Woffinden and Lindgren out scoring their GP counterparts Holder and Lindback by around 7 points given the Wolves home track advantage. Circa 24 off Freddie and Tai...? If so over to the other five to outscore their counterparts by just six points.. Definitely 'do able' I would suggest.. Need to avoid the nonsense that is the TR though.. No place for it anyway if you want the sport to be perceived as professional, but definitely no place for it in a 'head to head/winner takes all' scenario...

Although not being on live should get a bigger crowd to the NSS... Given the score maybe more than a few would have watched it on TV ?

TR's either should be scrapped for the play offs or both teams should be able to nominate one at any time regardless of who is winning.. Shouldn't have a final again decided by 'free points' gained by one team when the other doesn't get a chance to counter balance it..

The downside of having a track where you need 'specialists' to ride it is a lack of riders who can when you are missing your best.. The upside is of course it helps to get you to the play offs when your team is full of those specialists.. Still, best of luck to the Hammers.. But obviously hope we win...

Never 'walked away' as such, but had 'sabbaticals'... What I do now is simply pick and choose which meetings to attend and they are the ones that have at least a modicum of integrity to them. eg no select sides, no riders missing through riding elsewhere, no ringers brought in due to teams deliberately planning in meetings so they can etc etc ad nauseam... This year I will have attended the new NSS around half as much as I attended the dog bowl last year (But that is still more than Max Fricke)😁.. (But not as much as Danny King)😂 Considering that the new stadium is great, the racing is often superb, and we are top of the league it doesn't bode well for how much the sport will make out of me in the future. As many say, when done well, the sport has few peers, hence we still attend it.. Sadly British Speedway isn't done well often enough to increase those visits, which is worrying, as given its lack of capability in attracting 'newbies' it needs the 'die hards' to attend every week more than ever I would say.. As I say, you never really 'walk away' as it stays in the blood.. Which is ironic given the sport needs one hell of a 'transfusion'..

Maybe DG and Mort have found a way of getting Starry's 13000 crowd in??😁
