Why do they need to have won anything to comment on the state of the track? Is that a general requirement these days? Can we let the fact they won the 4's about 3 years count on this occasion? Thats not really correct though is it, you should maybe watch Berwick on a more regular basis. I would rather watch racing at Shielfield than Armadale where you see heatleaders reeled in and passed by reserves just because they cant negotiate the trick track, so boring.

The rules really do need changed because there are far to many gaps there to be exploited. As you say though, you cant blame teams for exploiting them if the option is available to them.
