Best I've seen ride:-
1, Ivan Mauger
2, Erik Gundersen
3, Hans Nielsen
4, Jason Crump
5, Peter Collins
6, Barry Briggs
7, Tony Rickardsson
Every one a world champion!
Most spectacular I've seen:-
1 Kelly Moran
2 Shawn Moran
3 Chris Morton
4 Peter Collins
5 Erik Gundersen
6 Tomasz Gollob
7 Soren Sjosten
Can't see things improving until there are more British riders in the EL.
Tai might move on to the next level but there is no certainty about that. It's becoming a major success if a Brit gets to a semi final unfortunately.
I think that Pedersen might win tomorrow with Gollob as usual being close.
Crump might still be feeling the injuries and settle for a semi final slot at this stage of the season.
I still think Crumpie is a step ahead of the others, but it will be a lot closer this year with several riders capable of winning GPs (and taking points off each other).
Crumpie (just), from Nikki, Emil, Lindgren and Gollob
Dave Morton always seemed to get injured when he was about to hit the really big time. He would probably have reached a few World Finals if he had avoided the big injuries.
The Belle Vue team sponsored silver leathers (in 1977 I think) were pretty horrible.
They looked like astronauts PC and Mort changed back to their normal leathers VERY soon afterwards
My Backtrack arrived today (Tuesday) and is the best yet. Great interviews with Crumpie (senior) and Dag Lovaas and Ron Preston - simply the best read around form70s/80s fans nlike me
