  1. Thanks Rob, it was just a forlorn hope for those of us that don't live up North.
  2. If anybody manages to find a link to a web site streaming this, I would love to have the link even if it is in Polish !
  3. Get well soon Shane. Always one of my favourite riders, and a legend at Kings Lynn. Brilliant work by his daughter, who seems to have saved his life, well done young lady. Hopefully Shane will make a full recovery, so best wishes from all Kings Lynn fans.
  4. So the Poles have more clout than the FIM? That's a worry. It puzzles me then why this new qualifying system was brought in when it must have been obvious that some riders would not be able to take part, and therefore be at a disadvantage. I believe in the past practice was optional, but this new system really hasn't been thought out and once again makes our sport look silly.
  5. Well that was probably the most entertaining race of the night Philip, but when the Worlds best riders on the best bikes struggle to make any sort of pass for race after race, then I rate that as a very poor spectacle. Couple that with the farce that took place on the Friday when only 10 of the 16 riders took part and a referee who needs a new pair of glasses, then what you have left certainly didn't entertain me. I think most on this forum would agree that this GP was one to forget.
  6. What! There were some good races, but most of it was dire.
  7. Dreadful track, mainly follow the leader racing, and a referee who needs to go to specsavers! My one eyed cat could spot those jump starts. Oh well, on to the next one.
  8. Just replying to my own post. Guess what, I was planning to go to the Swindon v Kings Lynn match last week whilst staying in the Cotswolds.....and it was rained off! Words fail me. Thats my fourth attempt over the years, and every time it rains.
  9. Yes, I missed the fact that they have put it on a different channel (I'm easily confused!) Thanks Heathcote, I've found it now.
  10. Thanks again. So no "Royal Box" to sit in like Saddlebow Rd? I'll take a couple of seats!
  11. Thanks Sir Sidney, I'll take your advice. My past experiences of Swindon in the 1970's involved lots of rain! Two meetings I went to were rained off, and the third abandoned half way through with a waterlogged track. Hopefully I'll be luckier if I try again.
  12. Thanks for that info Severnsider, it sounds as if getting there early is the best plan.
  13. I'm on holiday in Burford when Swindon take on the Kings Lynn Stars, and having not been to Swindon Speedway since the 1970's I fancied a night out to support my "Stars" Could anybody advise me on the parking situation at the stadium please? The web site says limited parking at the stadium for £1-50 but if that's full when I arrive, where is the best place to park, thats a) not too far to walk and b) safe enough that my car still has all its wheels when I return! Any advice would be very welcome.
  14. Me too. I'll be testing them this Sunday, lets hope they are up to their usual Michelin Star standard!
  15. And don't forget oxygen, you are well above sea level up there, and the wind comes all the way from the Arctic.
  16. Yes, I was standing right by the fence when he hit it. Made me jump out of my skin! Didn't he suffer a broken hip from the crash and it ended his season?
  17. These were the 2002 riders we used for the season, can't remember the line up v Ipswich, but you are pretty much spot on! 2002 Nicki Pedersen..30..163..338..7..8.47..2F..1P Ronni Pedersen..1..7..12..2..8.00 Sebastian Ulamek..27..145..246..17..7.26..1P Freddie Eriksson..36..177..233..47..6.33 Tom P Madsen..37..160..185..36..5.53 Travis McGowan..30..137..157..22..5.23 Sean Wilson..2..11..13..1..5.09 Lukasz Jankowski..2..9..10..1..4.89 Adam Shields..5..21..21..3..4.57 Artur Pietrzyk..16..60..58..6..4.27 Roman Povazhny..8..38..38..2..4.21 Jernej Kolenko..12..48..37..6..3.58 Emil Kramer..26..93..72..7..3.40 Bjorn Hansen..5..16..6..3..2.25 Marian Jirout..1..4..1..0..1.00
  18. The chips were always excellent, whats happened, change of ownership?
  19. I'm pleased Lewis is returning, delighted in fact. Lets hope he has an injury free season and shows us what he is really capable of.
  20. With the terrible news about the closure of Honda in Swindon, I wonder how many current fans are also employees of Honda? As said a couple of posts ago, this could have a knock on effect for the Robins although the closure is not for a couple of years. I suspect even now, belts will be tightened and unnecessary expenditure put on hold, so that may include trips to the Speedway. Having been made redundant myself (twice) in past years I really feel for those car workers, lets hope the prospects for all involved is brighter than it looks at the moment, and it doesn't affect the Robins plans for the future.
  21. You've got the job, when can you start!
  22. Does seem sad that I find out this news (assuming its true) via this Forum, and not on the Official Kings Lynn website. Nothing like keeping it from the fans is there, to heighten the suspense.
  23. Being a hundred mile round trip for me, and my interest level being rather low, I'll give that one a miss thanks!
