Kings Lynn Stars Vs Leicester 10/05/17
Bunce replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They use to say ' Happiness is 40 -38 ' Ah, the good old 13 heat matches! -
Very well put James. It was a nasty one, and Danny's welfare was the most important thing on everybody's mind. A superb idea to have a collection for the Air Ambulance, which raised almost £650. Lets hope Danny makes a full and speedy recovery.

I was pleased to see Chris Holder on the Stars web site today, admitting the start to this season has been awful for him. Reading the article, he is at least trying to do something positive about it, which is to his credit. Lets hope we soon see the Chris Holder of old, as we know he can be a match winner when on form. Hopefully results will soon be forthcoming from him, and we can all get off his back (me included!)

Missing NKI big time 100% but gotta get over it Chris must and will sort his gating out everywhere, it's not just for us. If we don't support him he'll never settle in, just imagine how he must feel about leaving a club that he's been with since his early days here, somewhere he thought he'd spend the rest of his career in the UK, somewhere he made his home, where his child was born and lives, just put yourself in his shoes. OK he's an Aussie, used to travelling but I think he has feelings, he's not a robot. Speedway is no ordinary 9-5 job, you can't fluke it or hide away til you are in a better place or pull a sickie or two. He's gotta tough it out, put things right, he deserves support doesn't he, he's a top rider, he'll sort it!! Totally agree Trees, I really feel for Chris, but unfortunately this is a ruthless sport, just how long do we wait for him to "settle in." I can understand moving tracks is unsettling, but the guy was a World Champion not so long ago and I think the fans expect more than they are getting at the moment. Several of the team are under performing, but to have your number one doing it, is a route to failure. I hope he shows us what he can really do, but just how long the fans and management can wait when other teams are surging ahead is the question? I hate getting on his case, because I admire him as a rider, and he has has gone through a lot recently, but in the grand scheme of things we all want what is best for our team and at the moment his performances are leading to a lot of frustration from the fans. What will happen next, is anybodys guess, but with memories of last seasons failed campaign fresh in my memory, I feel we need to sort this sooner, rather than later.

I would like to say a big thank you to Davey for the time he spent at Kings Lynn. Always an entertainer and fine racer. I felt sad to see his career go on a downward spiral and end up how it did. I'd like to remember the good times when he was a solid member of the Stars team. Have a good retirement from the sport Davey, and I wish you every success in whatever you choose to do in the future.
-
The issue is he hates every where. With his attitude it's not going to get any better. But why? He is a world class rider who must have ridden hundreds of different tracks in his career all over the world. I'm sure there are those he likes, and those he doesn't, but if he has a negative attitude to racing at the moment, we really don't want him as the No 1 rider in our team. It will drag the whole team down, and we will be in the same situation we were last year. Losing NKI was a huge blow and the sacking/replacing of Rory Schlein was a mistake we may live to regret.

Wolves V King's Lynn 1st May 6.00 Pm
Bunce replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Poor Chris. Gotta feel for him with all the stuff he's going through at the moment You don't say what those problems are, and I am not party to them, but the guy is a professional speedway rider who is paid handsomely by Kings Lynn to be their number one rider, and hopefully score lots of points. If he has problems that are affecting his ability to do that, then he is surely taking the michael. I think, on his day, Chris Holder is a great rider but my team comes before any individual rider and if he is going to continue to underperform, then the management need to look at the problem and find a solution quickly. There is nothing I would like better than to see Chris whack in some big scores and hopefully lead from the front, but at the moment there is no sign of that happening. With the exception of Robert Lambert tonights "performance" at Wolves was truly awful, and as others have already said, we need to act quickly to stop the rot or we will have a repeat of last season when we sat on our hands too long and paid the price. -

A pitiful performance. Time for changes I think. Unless he suddenly hits form, the Management must be regretting signing Chris Holder on such a high average. Maybe Poole knew something we didn't? -
I suspect that when the new averages come our then KL will make a rider ( or two swap ) because Chris Holders's average will have slumped/ Is it a scam? If a rider is on a very good per match fee ( not of course compared to Poland ) then no income is lost. I do hope that it is not really so cynical but we will see. It does make me a little suspicious, I thought Holder was doing well at the end of last season, but has been very average so far for Lynn. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, after all he has signed for a new club, is riding a new home track etc, but it will be interesting to see how he does in the first GP of the season tomorrow. I'm sure in the back of his mind he thinks that if he gets his average down, then he could fit in back at Poole at some point in the future, but who knows, we can only speculate? Probably he is just not having a good start to the season!

Swedish League- Uk Tv In 2017 ?
Bunce replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Elevensport is easy to get on the Kodi platform with several sources. Steve, I have Kodi on an Amazon Firestick plugged in to my Samsung smart TV, and get many sport & film channels via "Phoenix" on Kodi. Any idea how I would get, or find Elevensport via Kodi? I'm not a computer expert having bought the Firestick preloaded with Kodi, but have navigated my way around it so far. It would seem a shame to miss the Swedish speedway if Eurosport are not covering it this season. Any advice would be welcome! Thanks.....Dave. -
Tomasz Gollob Seriously Injured In Mx Accident
Bunce replied to Ghostwalker's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Sorry can't agree with you there. The BSPA web site is my first port of call for anything current either in the UK or the World. Naturally there are hundreds of Speedway web sites available, but I still think its unbelieveable that the BSPA site doesn't even mention a serious injury to a rider of Gollobs status. I didn't know he was injured until a couple of days after the event, and I suspect there are many UK supporters that are still unaware. I'm sure there are links to other web sites if you have the time to hunt for them, but if the BSPA are to be taken seriously, then I think this is a pretty poor show from them. TBF, he rode what? 3 seasons in Britain 20 years ago? It's also not the BSPAs place to be commenting on a riders injuries. He was also one of the most exciting riders ever in the sport and the 2010 World Champion. If that doesn't warrant a mention, then I don't know what does! -

I'm astonished there is nothing on the BSPA web site about this. The man is a legend for goodness sake!- 45 replies

Chris Holders start to the season is a worry for the Stars. Very average so far, lets hope he picks it up soon or we will have wasted a huge number of points signing him. Lewis Rose is the opposite with an excellent start.

If all you out there stopped paying them every sport would be on free to air terrestrial channels Sadly I think you are living in dreamland there. The idea is lovely, but it will never happen. Sport is all about money these days, and whoever pays the biggest fee, gets the coverage. I hate paying as much as the next man, but this is the way it is now. We all have choices, you can keep your Freeview, a bigger load of rubbish I have yet to see. Free Sat is slightly better but if you want a huge choice of channels (and Speedway) on TV then sorry you have to pay for it either via Sky, BT or others. I can't see Speedway ever being free on a mainstream TV channel, so you may have a long wait!

King's Lynn Vs Somerset 5th April Premiership
Bunce replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why not put a couple (or more) turnstiles on the large car park side by the back straight. I'm sure there were some there years ago. I always park in that car park and have to walk out of that car park, along the main road, and back in to the stadium again to get to the existing ticket office. As other posters have said, everybody then has to queue at four little windows, and once given the tickets we then have to hand them to somebody else to tear the stub off. What a load of faffing about! If we can see ways to make it run smoother, how come the management can't? -

Bunce replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I wrote to the Management telling them many fans were fed up waiting for the start due to "queues at the turnstiles" I come from the other side of Norwich and can get there on time so I suggested if they started at the correct time and the latecomers missed a few heats, then tough. Maybe they would wake up to the fact we are not prepared to wait for their poor time keeping. Much to my surprise and delight they have taken notice! Well done Stars Management. -
Having had a years experience, and a year older, the future looks very good for him and the Kings Lynn Stars...... I agree, he has beaten some World class riders on the continent, but can/will he do it in the UK? Lets hope so.

The only way I can get BT Sport is via Sky TV (which I don't currently have but could get for about £9.00 a month extra) as BT Infinity broadband is not in my area - I'm not exactly in some back water location - for the pleasure it will cost an additional £27.99 a month which is more than my Sky broadband/telephone package. If I switch from SKY to BT broadband to enable me to get BT Sport for £7.50 a month it'll probably cost me £22.00 or more for just getting TV via SKY, on top of the BT broadband costs - it's a lose/ lose situation from what I can see :'( There is probably not an easy answer to this Kitten. You said already you have Sky broadband, so you could switch to BT broadband/telephone and it may be fast enough to get BT sport without going down the fibre route, which you said is not in your area yet. I'd suggest going on the BT broadband web site, put in your postcode, and see what predicted (normal) broadband speed they can offer you compared to Sky. Its usually fairly accurate. You can check your current speed on http://www.speedtest.net/ Then have a look at the various BT TV offers that they have and you may find a suitable one that offers BT sport without needing fibre. Although I have fibre in my village, I didn't choose it for the speedway, it was just because I like a decent fast internet connection as I use it a lot. I do actually get my BT Sport via my Sky box I should add. If you ring BT and have a chat with them about your situation, and explain you would like BT sport to watch speedway, they may suggest a suitable package that we are not aware of. Its always worth investigating, as nothing is lost by having a chat, I hope you find a cost effective solution, as I know it can be frustrating knowing its being televised and you can't watch it!

I found this web site, but nothing regarding the explosion. https://www.revolvy.com/topic/Hackney%20Wick%20Stadium&uid=1575 How about posting your question on the Hackney forum here; http://www.hackneyhive.co.uk/forum/ I hope you find what you are looking for.

I must be in the minority then, I don't use supermarket diesel .... Neither do I. My garage man said the quality of the fuel is not as good, so you pay your money and take your choice. As I don't do a big mileage now I'm retired, I stick mainly to BP fuel. When I was driving a company car years ago, I always bought the dearest fuel I could find, so I would get the maximum amount of Green Shield Stamps!

For those looking to change their broadband to BT then BT have today launched a cracking deal for their unlimited infinity 1 fibre broadband: Can I just add that I have been with BT Broadband for two years now, switching to Infinity Fibre when it came online in my village. I get 52 Meg download speed that never varies, and in two years it has been totally reliable, with the connection never having failed. There have been cheaper deals out there, but BT seem to be doing a tremendous amount of marketing at the moment for all their products, and I wouldn't dream of changing as its been so reliable. I just thought I would mention that as many of you must be looking at BT broadband and BT sport products at the moment.
-
if you keep sky and add BT sports, are you able to record and pause,ff,rew ? Yes you can. As I now receive all the BT Sport channels on my Sky+ Box, they simply come up on my Sky planner the same as all the other channels. I can now record any speedway on BT sport that I am liable to miss, and watch it later the same as any other channel. I could not justify the cost of watching speedway on Skysport last year, as it was so expensive and would have doubled my monthly Sky subscription, but the BT deal is excellent, as I posted earlier it averages out at £3-75 per month over the next 12 months, so I'm well pleased. I can also watch the winter cricket from down under which I also enjoy. I would think many speedway fans are also ditching Skysport if like me, they only had it for the speedway.

How can BT offer you BT Sport when you havnt got BT TV. Surely to get BT Sport on an active Sky box you have to go through Sky. Nope. As I said in my previous post, I am a BT Broadband user with a BT phone line. I also have a Sky box plus subscription (but not Sky sport) I went online to www.bt.com/sky and took up the deal I described, first 6 months free then £7-50 a month for the remaining 6 months. I know it sounds strange, and I don't know how it works, after all Sky and BT are in competition with each other! The deal was done online in a few minutes, and 10 minutes later my Sky box was receiving ALL the BT Sport channels plus Box Nation. It works, but don't ask me how. I wasn't even asked for my Sky details from BT, although I do get BT Sport 1 as part of my Broadband package, so I presume they must have some of my Sky information? With regard to the BT TV box, I haven't investigated that but I doubt if it receives as many channels as I get on my Sky box. I'm happy with that part of the Sky package, so will probably stick with it for now.

Never heard anyone describe Eurosport's coverage of the Swedish League as excellent before. Wasn't referring to the TV coverage, more the team line ups, and some of the racing. At least I got to see some of the top riders, unlike the UK, where GP riders in a team are rarer than hens teeth. Also if you don't like it, don't watch it. Life is all about choices.
-
Do you need the Sky Sports package to get BT Sports or can you ditch Sky Sports and just get BT Sports? No, as previous posters have said, there are several options. Have a look on www.bt.com/sky I have a Sky+ box and subscribe to the general family package, with no films and no Skysport. I do however have BT for my phone and BT Infinity fibre Broadband. I get BT Sport 1 thrown in for free as part of my Broadband package, but tonight added the full BT Sport package to the Sky platform. The first 6 months are free, then its £7-50 per month for the next 6 months. That works out at only £3-75 per month over a 12 month period for all the BT Sport channels plus a few extras like Box Nation as well. The only condition for the deal was to renew my BT Broadband package for a new 12 month contract. I was happy to do that as its been excellent. Looked a good deal to me, and they turned it on within 10 minutes via my Sky box. I could have had HD for another £5, but didn't bother. Happy days!
