  1. Having seen a clip of Leibmann at Redcar I agree she looked fast / on the pace. But that doesn't win meetings, points do. There's no rush I guess, but Workington should certainly be prepared to make changes. Maybe 2 changes, bring in Jody Scott for Sam McGurk too?
  2. You could argue Sheffield weakened Leicester & Oxford by removing a strong RS from the list. Now if they dropped him, these clubs can't sign Edwards, so Sheffield still gain. How is that in the best interest of British Speedway / or an improving young Brit like Edwards?
  3. Why is Atkins missing? Agree it certainly strengthens Oxford.
  4. With the form Milik is in, Sedgmen should improve the team, especially pushing Lampart, then possibly Pawlicki to reserve. However it's not a move that will turn Birmingham into contenders. Especially when they have points available for a superstar number one (if someone wants to come).
  5. Looking at the scores, there wasn't a rider who was clearly better than Janowski & Cook. Maybe Tungate? But certainly not a howler in this case.
  6. There's no evidence that Howarth's testimonial is on the promoters mind, they could simply be giving a struggling rider time to turn things round. Not every club drops a rider who isn't performing ASAP
  7. Foreigners (Zischke) have a minimum 4.00 average.
  8. If true, I think that's a terrible ruling. Rather than commend a young Brit for trying to improve himself out of the RS berth, they put a block on him dropping down (if it's needed). What if Sheffield dropped him & Howarth for a double change, means he'd likely have to sit out the rest of the campaign as there'd be clubs wanting to use him as RS, but not at number 6.
  9. I'm the context of the title chase, this meeting means nothing, both teams 99.99% in the play-offs. Which is why I dislike them, yes they make the end of the season exciting, but make 85% off the season less important. That being said I know Sheffield don't want to lose at home, I'm delighted they did though.
  10. Etheridge & Vissing in place of Howarth & Gilkes (move Edwards to RS)?
  11. Don't think he'd do any better, maybe find a 3.00 rider for number 6 & move Edwards to RS (if allowed)
  12. Personally I don't think Ellis has a "point to prove" to Sheffield. He knows he was poor last year & wasn't unlucky to be dropped. I guess his pride will want to show he can race round Owlerton, as well as wanting to win for Ipswich, but I don't imagine there'd be an "anti-Sheffield" part of his motivation.
  13. Sheffield 44-46 Ipswich Think Douglas will be an awesome guest.
  14. Belle Vue 46-44 Oxford Interesting match Oxford have rider who should go well round the NSS, while Belle Vue are very strong at home.
  15. I see Paco Castagna is guesting. Is he really better than r/r considering how well Barker goes at home, Dan T on great form, Newman who scored a bundle last time & Bowtell? If Covatti's facility has ended, that explains it.
  16. I think 99% of call offs have been for poor weather forecasts, Lynn called off a match with a good weather forecast, there is a difference.
  17. I guess you learn about people's character when things go wrong / they are losing, rather when they are winning. Glasgow are used to always being near the top, so perhaps they've forgotten how to take losing with dignity?
  18. Winning the British Final (or 2nd to Bewley) and getting to the final at Cardiff would make the selectors take notice. He's really impressed me this year for Poole & Birmingham. But SEC should be his next target before GPs imo.
  19. You can't really goto a match & "aim for a draw" so yeah, they'll be after a victory.
  20. They were a strong team, but not Championship material till they signed Tarasenko on a 5.00 imo. If they can find another heat leader with a second string average, could be contenders again. If not mid-table side.
  21. Not really, wether the "stupid heat" rule existed it not, Glasgow can draw at Edinburgh & go through.
  22. I'm sure the Berwick promotion & fans would be delighted with Lawson. They're not gonna spite themselves by not picking such an in form rider just because he beat them last week
  23. Brennan is a long way from GP standard imo. Plus there plenty of competition with Britain having a strong top 2 or 3. Didn't make it through the first qualifier, so don't see him getting a wild card.
  24. Personally think there's no need for the "stupid heat" to decide draws in any competition. But see no reason why the BSN groups would need a different scoring system to the league.
