I know it wasn't the NDLRC, even if the referee said to me it was, I'd tell him he's wrong. Trying to remember the last time a 3.00 NL reserve 2 matches into his career qualified for the NDLRC The biggest hint that it wasn't the NDLRC, is the long discussion forum users have been having about it. I cannot remember a single season from 94-23 where there was ever a question of "is this the league riders championship"
-
I've always said it wasn't the NDLRC, despite Poole wanting to call it that. Kind of a shame they are calling it that only because the NDLRC wasn't going to be held this year. There's gonna be clubs finishing the season early if they don't make the play-offs, ideally one of these clubs would hold the actual NDLRC in September.

Oxford Vs Workington June 26 2024
szkocjasid replied to Anzum's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not seen McGurk ride, but he has a higher 2024 average than Perry, Foord, Hodder & Atkins. I wouldn't call it an insult losing to Jody Scott on his home track who's 9+ NL average is higher than anything McGurk has achieved, before the match I wouldn't have been surprised of he didn't pick up any points. Not sure who you'd replace him with, as I'm sure Scott will have been promised a starting berth with Oxford next year, as long as he remains on a 2.00 average. Far easier to try & replace Celina, as they have 4.00 available. -
Looking at the July averages Eric Riss would be available on a 6.45 converted average for the Championship. Be interesting to see if any Championship club can sign him.

Even if that's true, it's up to the team manager to pick the riding order, not the riders. -
Fixed race nights more than anything else.

They don't need to challenge the top 2 until the play-offs.

Thought Nigel Tolley was pretty embarrassing in his after match interview. Blaming the track, weather, referee & things "just not going their way" needs to realise it's his team that lost the match, track is the same for both teams, needs his riders to be more consistent & a team manager who doesn't mess up the riding order. -
King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions

Would be better off using guests than MPT. If they can't find a strong guest one week use r/r or MPT as a Championship guest. -

That's Brummies clinched the wooden spoon then. In defence of their team manager, their riders are so inconsistent, it's hard to know when to give a reserve an extra ride. I would have dropped Worrall from heat 13 but then he beats Kvech. I would have been looking to give Flint an extra ride, but he ran a last in heat 12! -
Will probably be a "rising star" next year.
-
Looking at their Championship averages, why would you not pick Cook ahead of Kemp? Would Workington have signed Kemp as their number one? No. Not working for Cook in the Prem apart from a few good meetings, but I can't blame Dickson for trying him.

Surprised Worrall left in heat 13, but he did his job beating Kvech. -

The debate about having Brennan at 2 being a good thing can go on. But if he was at 5, that would mean Worrall wouldn't be! -
For a supposedly professional sport, it's a shame clubs don't know the rules, keep nominating illegal riders, then have to correct it.

I have no doubt, Brummies look stronger in those heats, but look very suspect in others now. Unless Pawlicki rides like the heat leader he was signed as. Then Brummies should have no worries at all. -
Surely if there's any doubt about the legality of the visiting team, Belle Vue should be putting in a protest?
-
Yes, that clearly states Edwards is not eligible because he is in a "Premiership line-up elsewhere"
-
It would make sense for Edwards to be deemed ineligible, otherwise Sheffield would be the only Premiership team unable to use a Premiership rider as a guest RS. If allowed any other club could use Edwards, but Sheffield would have to use an unattached RS. Would be a daft situation where Sheffield were penalised for using more "riding stars" than is necessary.
-
Garrad has a higher NL average than Hodder. But as Hodder is younger may be the better long term prospect, but if he's not your asset, should pick the stronger rider now imo.
-
Is that allowed? I'm sure he was previously going to guest, but it got cancelled because he's not Sheffield's "rising star"?

Yeah, I'd be shocked if Brennan isn't at 5. Ideally should have Lampart at 2, but wouldn't surprise me to see Worrall there.
