Surely any other response would be worse, if he said he's happy & he expects Zach to score 3 or 4 points each week - that would be worse! Depends on the reason, if it was a bereavement for example - no ban. If the reason isn't announced, people will speculate. Mind you if a non-speedway injury / illness / missing a flight gets a 7 day ban, it would be odd that missing for a "personal reason" doesn't?

I don't think money is what's stopping Nicholls signing. He's planning for the future, when he hangs up his kevlars, wants a TV job, so would be daft to step away from that when he's wanted. Besides he can guest whenever it suits him, got the freedom to pick & choose when he wants to ride Prem. He's in a great situation, so why would he risk throwing that away?
