Glasgow v Edinburgh BSN Cup 12/424 @7.30
szkocjasid replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have to agree, Glasgow could easily have announced their team earlier, even if they don't want to comment on the Complin situation, can merely mention they have a guest. You'd expect the home team to be keen to post the match preview well enough in advance to drum up some interest. -

Don't see Ben overtaking Lawson in the averages. But having two "number ones" is certainly better then one. -

Don't they use transponders now? How can a referee get a close finish wrong? -
12.4.2024 - Scunny vs Plymouth KOC

I'm merely stating facts, Plymouth have 7.82 available but not picking riders near that average. It's possible they tried others first, I guess we'll never know. But I don't think anyone considers Rowe a decent guest replacement for a number one! -

It's a bit strange that Plymouth can use a guest up to Covatti's average, but use a second string as a guest. It's almost like they think they can only use up to 75% of Covatti's average? Possible guests could be Rory Schlein, Tom Brennan, Ben or Zach Cook? -
I'll agree they might score more as a pair, but don't think it's a certainty they will. If you want to strengthen up the reserves, I'd make a single change, drop Kemp for Vissing, Etheridge or Thomson, so you don't habe to drop a top 5 rider. Although I would give Kemp more time first.
-
Hopefully Kerr isn't too badly injured, but Bandits have great options till he returns. At home can use King, Wright, Nicholls, C.Cook, Lawson, Howarth. Away can use Wright, Nicholls, B.Cook, Brennan, Howarth.
-
Think Leicester need to be more ruthless with their reserves. After his heat 2 win I'd have put Kemp in heat 4. I also would have put him in heat 12 (he had beaten Edwards, Joe hadn't) then if Kemp ran a last, could always put Joe in heat 14?
-
Can't agree that's an easy decision. Sedgemen may score more than Kemp, but Riss would score less than Masters.

There's no doubting Blodorn's form around the NSS, but can he do it away? Not sure I would have chosen him ahead of Brennan. -
Speedway of Nations 2024

It requires Speedway fans, to stick to their principles & refuse to buy such expensive tickets. If it's a near sell out, there will be no need make it cheaper in the future. If the stands are gonna be empty, prices will most likely come down. -

That rule is only applicable for a top 5 rider, not a reserve. -

Hagon isn't a complete novice. Rode half a season for Birmingham last year & scored double figures for Poole in his only match so far this year. -

While you make a fair point Edinburgh "arrive with much the same mediocre side as last year" Glasgow are far weaker than last year. So if anything Edinburgh should perform better this time. -

Glasgow should be allowed up to Complin's average, 75% rule not needed. -
He had a great first match, but it's far too early to say he'll be the best reserve in the league imo. Gotta see how he'll do away for a start.

Riders use their most "recent" average, so as Lynn raced a match before the April cut-off Rowe would now sign for a Champ team on his Prem converted average of 5.79 (3.86 x 1.5). So he'd use that same average to guest with. Otherwise he could end up with a 10+ Prem average but still guest on his old Champ average. That's an exaggeration to make a point. -
Plymouth Gladiators 2024
szkocjasid replied to jbell1995's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Why do Plymouth get so much grief (on various sites) for their rain-offs? Currently they've raced the same amount of home fixtures (0) as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Oxford (Cheetahs), Redcar & Workington. Plymouth can race on Tuesdays & Saturday, whilst clubs like Edinburgh, Oxford & Redcar also have to fit in 5 NL fixtures. Yet still many act like Plymouth will be the club holding everyone up etc. I just don't get the negativity towards Plymouth? -

Probably uses his Prem average X2 -
Looks a really interesting contest. Think Witches top 2 could be the difference here. Plus Dan T vs Boughen looks a bit of a mismatch based on early season form.

That's an even better point still!
