I was just about to make a similar comment, Gundersen & Nielsen won 6 years in a row between them because they were lucky?

It shows there is something wrong with the scoring system if the commentators don't know who ranks higher, it's unforgivable that the organisers can't work it out!

The way Berwick's team was built it clearly weakens them using r/r for Knudsen. Nothing they can do about it though as it's their only option. Just need the top 4 to all be firing.

If they knew in advance, I'm surprised they didn't try & race this match on another date as there's plenty spares. If it was late notice then I can understand not changing the fixture. However even with Knudsen Berwick were never going to claw back 16 points, so no harm in him missing this one.

It's not "winner takes all" in the superheat, 2 points for a winning-draw and 1 point for a losing-draw

Clegg's average shot up when Newcastle's fixtures were removed, same thing happened to Matthew Wethers, making them both virtually unemployable!

A "draw" will be enough for Glasgow to win the group, so I think they're pretty safe!

Admitting the match that is the same price as a league match, isn't as important as a league match? Birmingham can still qualify!

Glasgow should want Edinburgh to win, increases the chances of a Scottish derby in later rounds, imagine the crowds!

Can't help but think it's a negative riding order by Plymouth, Howarth gets his extra ride in the weakest heat (8), for Plymouth to win, I'd suggest they need Howarth & Barker to be consistently beating Poole's top riders - not their lower end! That being said, Poole don't really have a weak bottom end!

I don't think it's a case of other clubs not being bothered, just not willing to risk a rain-off or suffer a poor crowd! Look what happened at Stuart Robson's farewell - they were certainly "bothered" & made every attempt to get the meeting on - end result, hundreds of fans travelling for it to be called off!

While it's a blow for Oxford with Nathan Stoneman getting injured, r/r still gives them a strong looking teams with Jenkins, Atkins, Scott & Killeen all able to get an extra ride (or more in Luke's case).

Maybe it shouldn't be simple? Surely giving the sport more credibility is more important than making it "simple" to find a guest? Might even encourage clubs to look for replacements than reply on guests? Using Edinburgh as an example, I wouldn't even look for a replacement for Pickering, no matter how long he is out for, with his average there are plenty of available heat leaders to guest for him! Nothing to do with lack of available replacements - I think guests would be stronger, so why not use them?

On paper this Lynn team should be competitive, a lack of a number one shouldn't be an issue if you've got 6 riders who can score 7 points each week! Not sure why they are doing so badly? Obviously missing a strong reserve today, but should still be doing better!
