  1. Surely Wright would have made sure he got paid the correct amount if given a 3rd place when finishing 2nd?
  2. Alcoholism, anxiety & depression are all serious problems, which should not be laughed at imo. However none of these are an excuse for driving whilst over the limit, which I have no issue of someone getting pulled up on.
  3. Boughen could have chosen not to ride in a 4th match, but just wanted to race as much as possible, credit to him for doing that. It's a shame, a rule that encourages riders not to ride exists though! The rule seems to be brought in to make things "fair" by not having 3.00 riders race half a season as a guest but keep a 3.00 she fir the next season. But how to the people who vote for this rule, then decide letting Roynon ride on a 6.00 & Congreave on a 4.50 is "fair"?
  4. I don't think the 4 meeting rule "blocked" anyone, but Harrison & James were clever enough not to ride a 4th meeting.
  5. Similar to what I've said, I just took half a page to say it though lol!
  6. I have no issue with Roynon riding in the NL, my issue is with his average. As I see it: 1) Roynon didn't have a NL ave when he signed for Plymouth, so raced on an assessed 6.00 ave (double is Champ ave) 2) Roynon didn't ride enough matches for a new ave, so still doesn't have a NL average. Should he not then be starting 2023 on double his Champ average (3.56 = 7.12)? The logic for keeping him on a 6.00 ave is beyond me 3) I believe his 4th match for Plymouth didn't count for the averages as it was after the cut-off date for the playoffs. This is the same as what happened in the top 2 leagues. However it makes no sense in this instance, as wether or not the match took place before the cut-off date, neither Plymouth or Armadale could make the top 4! I strongly dislike this rule as the only possible reason for it, is to stop riders losing on purpose to lower their averages, which is basically suggesting, they expect riders to cheat - a very dissapointing situation! 4) what's even worse is Ashton Boughton ride a 4th match after Roynon's 4th match, but his did count giving him an average. What's the logic of a rule that means a guest will get a new average but a rider in a 1-7 won't?
  7. He must have quit because Leicester were allowed guests, if he was dropped they wouldn't have been allowed guests. They might not have wanted him anymore, but they didn't drop him.
  8. Rowe quit at Leicester. I get the impression he's not bothered about racing in GB, happier in Poland. Imo can't count him as a Brit unlucky not to have a UK team.
  9. Plus Roynan will only have to make 7 or 8 trips to Armadale for NL matches. Should do well when the Pirates race there in the Champ.
  10. Most clubs are quiet earlier on then have a busy spell in August. I guess that's to make sure they are race-fit going into the play-offs? However it does mean if any of the August matches get postponed, there's not a lot of time to re-arrange them.
  11. Gotta admit I had never heard of Wood before today, but the top 5 looks good even if the reserves don't improve. Don't think it's a play-off qualifying side though. Workington/Oxford/Leicester just look even stronger imo Will certainly do better than last season's team for sure.
  12. Mind you, he's only got 7 or 8 home matches for the Academy.
  13. I agree with Fromafar, same for Leicester too, suggesting Spencer ends up at reserve isn't me suggesting his average will drop, just that I expect James, Boughton & Perry to do very well! I think Spencer could up his average & still end up as reserve! Don't see Oxford ending up with the same firepower at reserve as their main rivals.
  14. Was thinking the same thing, given himself a chance of signing for Plymouth rather than Birmingham
  15. I'm not sure if there are any better 3.00 riders available, but they can always make changes if needed. The Oxford team is clearly built to win based on having 4 heat leaders, plus the very promising Jody Scott who may end up being their 5th HL. I would rate their main rivals Workington (S.McGurk & Kelly) & Leicester (Spencer & Foord) as ending up with stronger reserves than Oxford (Clouting & Fellows) though.
  16. One of the reasons Kemp hasn't got a Champ spot this year is because he did "too well" last year. Along with the likes of Dan Thompson, Broc Nicol & Dillon Ruml who also can't find Champ team spots. Whereas riders who performed far worse last year Pearson, Fredriksen, Hook, Complin, Heeps & J.Thompson have all been signed up.
  17. I think Thomas is very promising, so can see why Ipswich went for him, biggest shock pick over Kemp has to be Mulford for me. 2.00 Champ rider (with a sub 8 NL ave) picked ahead of a 5+ Champ rider!
  18. That was me er the case, a rider could be a "rising star" for probably 9 seasons (16-24 years old) as long as their average doesn't go too high!
  19. I don't think it's fair to judge any young Brit against the talents of Woffinden, Lambert & Bewley at a young age.
  20. Looked almost a NL strength line-up, but you can only beat the riders who are against you. A useful warm-up for Schlein, but doesn't give any hints about his form ahead of his comeback.
  21. Harlow Hammers Get rid of the greyhounds & race at Harlow Greyhound Stadium. Red & white race jackets not team suits lol!
  22. You want both, build top heavy & hope your reserves improve, or build strength in depth & hope one of your top 3 become a superstar!
  23. Going by averages should it not be? MPT vs Lawson (Lawson) Allen vs Cook (tougher to call, Allen now but Ben by end of the season) Lambert vs Z.Cook (Cook) Thomas vs Mountain (pretty equal)
