  1. Indeed, if Summers beats every rider except Masters & Pickering - he'd end up with 9 from 5 rides.
  2. I doubt it tbh. But will be interesting to see if the guest rules are updated. Last year Poole had a long wait for their play-off QF as Leicester & Scunthorpe had rain offs & were not in a rush, so waited a week to re-arrange their fixtures. This year the exact same thing has happened to Glasgow / Leicester. The BSPL had the opportunity to try and avoid these fixture issues, but did nothing!
  3. There is no rule that requires teams to make a replacement. The guest rule at times encourages teams not to find new riders! Don't blame Plymouth for following the rules. Blame the rules.
  4. Don't think there's a panic, just a desire to see finals raced in the summer in good weather with good crowds. Compared to the more likely league / cup / trophy finals all being raced at the end of October.
  5. I disagree, Joe Thompson has been far more inconsistent this year, but Leicester still topped the table! Even Nick Morris has averaged below 8 & above 10 in the same season!
  6. I don't think Birmingham should have been allowed to use a guest after Vissing's 28 day ban was over. Leicester had to replace Rowe, they couldn't just say after his 28 day ban, "he's witholding his services again"
  7. Kemp is in line to finish with his highest ever Champ average, has moved into the top 5 & kept Zach Cook below him - that's progress
  8. Gotta say I think Plymouth have got their riding order correct, it's hard on Morley (at 3) but sacrificing heat 12 to be strong in heats 8 & 14 makes sense. Especially as their aim is to keep it as close as possible!
  9. I agree different people have different opinions, which is why I think it was wrong for the BSPL to choose how we should mourn for us, by cancelling fixtures. Could make a big difference to deciding the NL play-offs, as they're waiting for dates once Champ / Prem matches are finished.
  10. When they had a talk after the site was announced, it very much sounded like all their eggs were in the Livingston basket. When asked about a plan B, the response was along the lines of starting later, not another area of land to use.
  11. My dad passed away on a Thursday in 2015, I went to Edinburgh Speedway on the Friday as a tribute to him. He was a massive Speedway fan & I know he'd far rather I went to the match than stay at home. Obviously I was mourning at the time, but that didn't mean I couldn't celebrate his life & what he loved to do at the same time. So I don't understand why Speedway couldn't show respect by having a minutes silence & then celebrating her life instead of cancelling? Anyone who disagreed with running the fixtures didn't have to go to them!
  12. I don't understand cancelling sporting events "to allow people to mourn" but still expect them to go to work as if nothing has happened?
  13. Not sure what Atkins gained giving up a Champ spot (because he got dropped from a race once) for a team that didn't give him a chance in the Champ? While Atkins has scored well in the NL, he was given zero chances in the Champ by Oxford when MacDonald was out injured, they apparently preferred Killeen (who didn't beat an opponent at Champ level) based on ONE good score against a VERY WEAK Plymouth side.
  14. Andersen replaced Lawson, they were never both in the Plymouth team plan
  15. Happens every year because clubs rush to race league fixtures to try & make the play-offs. Look how long it took the re-arrange the Scunthorpe vs Leicester cup tie or arrange the King's Lynn vs Sheffield League cup tie. If clubs really wanted to, they could spread out the finals better!
  16. That would not be possible, Leicester & Belle Vue wouldn't be racing NL play-off matches till their Championship / Premiership campaigns were completed. I'm not saying it's right but NL always gets pushed to the bottom of the pile!
  17. He'll have a near 12.00 ave by then!
  18. Very much doubt that would happen. Plymouth vs Glasgow was called off for the play-offs (now rained off) and Leicester vs Berwick (NL) was called off for the KOC. I can't see Armadale vs Belle Vue happening till Edinburgh's play-off campaign is over!
  19. I've never understood that comment, Harris has a high ave because he's a good rider! Plus one of the most exciting riders in British Speedway
  20. Hardly "delaying tactics" they already had the match scheduled! If it was a free week but they chose to race Glasgow after the play-offs were decided, then that would be different
  21. So it's acceptable for Scunthorpe to delay the KOC by THREE months, but not acceptable for Plymouth to delay the play-offs by SEVEN days?
  22. Most sensible fixture options should now be: Tues 13th Plymouth (A) P/0 Wed 14th Leicester (H) KOC Probably be a bit of a wait for the second leg as Leicester have a couple of NL matches on the next 2 Saturday's
  23. You're talking a lot of sense there! For some reason when riders say they need x-amount of money to buy the best equipment, promoters just pay it (despite it not improving the product). Rather than saying "as only so many fans turn up to matches I can only pay you this amount" I've never understood why promoters pay out more than what comes in? If that means Championship riders have to treat it as a hobby, while working a "real" job like they did in the 80's so be it!
