  1. I doubt the BSPL insist on midweek meetings, more likely Belle Vue & Poole preferred to race on their normal race night!
  2. I would say the opposite is true, let's say Sam Masters races, but pulls out because of his shoulder injury. Anyone who races against a track reserve from the NL, will get an easier heat than others (who've already raced Masters), so this would impact the result! If Ben or Zach Cook replace Masters, the advantage riders get by avoiding Masters is lessened so wouldn't affect the result so much!
  3. Not sure the point you're making? But I'd have no issue with him qualifying for the GP challenge if he finished high enough!
  4. Why not? If you can't beat 5-6.00 Champ riders, you can't expect to win the riders championship!
  5. I don't agree with suggestions that the away team should be awarded 4 points in situations like these. While it wouldn't have mattered last night, that could be the difference between a team qualifying for the play-offs or not. Surely you'd want that to be decided on the track! If a home club was at fault & a penalty merited, I'd suggest home team losing a point. Costs them but doesn't mess up other clubs in the league!
  6. According to the refs interview, issues were raised with the track & the home promotion made attempts to fix it, unsuccessfully as it turns out. Some of these replies sound like the promotion did nothing & ref only inspected the track for the first time at 18:55!
  7. Problem with that, is eventually teams may run out of dates & have to race when the forecast is worse than the original staging!
  8. I don't necessarily agree with that, as a forecast may be for horrendous storms for days beforehand as well as the raceday on every site. The problem here was calling it off early based on slightly iffy forecasts on some sites!
  9. Which is exactly the reason not to call it off so early - forecasts can change!
  10. Most important thing for Championship promoters is to get a big crowd. Poole on a Wednesday may well get a bigger crowd than say Sheffield on a Sunday?
  11. I know Championship clubs can't race on a Monday, but am not aware of NL clubs not being able to. Surely if Dan & Joe aren't in the teams they wouldn't have to be at the meetings?
  12. Was not aware 27th wasn't available. Mon 29th KOCF vs Mildenhall?
  13. The comment was "it's the last match of the season at Oxford tonight" it may be HIS last match but it's not THE last match. Oxford fans still have plenty of Speedway to watch!
  14. That makes no sense, why use a previous month's averages for the Pairs?
  15. While the Championship scoring isn't as confusing at the Premiership's For example: Home win = 3. draw 3, 2 or 1. defeat = 0. Away win = 4 or 3. draw 3, 2 or 1. defeat = 1 or 0. 2 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss and a bonus point is a lot simpler.
  16. Bickley for Stoneman fits in the averages!
  17. In most cases I'd suggest it's a "waste" of a heat leaders extra ride winning heat 8. For Redcar to have gained a point they'd have been looking for Wright to beat a heat leader in his extra ride & someone like Edwards or Andersen to win the "easier" heat 8. As it turned out Redcar were well beaten & their second strings were off form, so Wright's win in heat 8 probably saved them a heavier defeat!
  18. I'm talking about Leicester putting on the NLKOCF or Jubilee League final being raced in August, so there's not a large gap without racing. NLRC doesn't enter into the equation, apart from being a date the Lion Cubs can't race on.
  19. This riding order should help Bears get a losing bonus point (Wright in the easier heat 8), but lessens their chances of a win!
  20. I really hope it's the NL Cup final. Give these lads a prime date for a big meeting instead of the usual (being dumped till the end of the season)!
  21. Well they could race the NLKOCF or Jubilee league final in spare August date. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a blank August & a busy October.
