  1. Given it was a "5 year plan" what are the chances the "rising star" rule will be dropped after ONE season?
  2. Could have raced the first leg at Poole on Wednesday if they were worried about being rusty!
  3. I feel the Championship needs to be weaker, 1) to encourage the likes of Poole / Glasgow / Leicester to step up 2) to shorten the difference between Champ & NDL for riders trying to step up! At the moment riders can score maximums at NDL level but not score a point in the Champ! Makes it tough to know if you are good enough to step up! 3) if it makes the Champ a cheaper league to run - bonus!
  4. The disappointing thing about the U-21 rule is after the heroics of Bewley to come in & win on the second day, he'll probably be dropped for 2022!
  5. I made that comment last year & got laughed at for my suggestion! If the pairs is 4-3-2-0 to encourage team riding / the best team rather than the best individual, why isn't every team match 4-3-2-0?
  6. I actually thought that, give Brennan another ride (in place of Lambert), also give Lambert time to clean his bike / cool his clutch etc.
  7. Although Brennan was unbeaten, GB would still have won if they didn't use an U-21 rider! Actually Poland would have still top scored with no reserve & Denmark also would have made top 3 with no reserve! U-21 riders made no difference to top 3!
  8. I don't think GB were the best side on the day, but they won within the rules so are Champs!
  9. Just watching the stream now, gotta say Nicol was very unlucky in heat 12 when the race was stopped! Never moved before the tapes, just made a perfect start!
  10. The advantage of putting a rider off 15m is that the fans get more racing! Every time a race is awarded after a rider falls & stays down (on purpose) the fans get short changed!
  11. When everyone can get a r/r ride it matters less the position it is in!
  12. If I was team manager, if pick the following riding order(s) for tonight: 1) Michael P Toft 2) Craig Cook 3) Scott Nicholls 4) Chris Harris 5) U Ostergaard r/r 6) Bjarne Pedersen 7) Jordan Palin 1) Dan Bewley 2) Charles Wright 3) Steve Worrall 4) Richie Worrall 5) B Kurtz r/r 6) Jye Etheridge 7) Tom Brennan
  13. I think Poole are weaker & Leicester stronger with their guest choices! So I'll predict Ple 49-41 Lei!
  14. If the Cup final is known, Poole can organise their home leg for Wednesday! If only the play-off match was raced Poole would have another blank Wednesday! But as it turns out both matches are being raced this weekend anyway!
  15. If Fridays match was play-offs rather than KOC, that would hold up things further! If the Cup semi is concluded, Poole & Glasgow / Edinburgh can organise the final! If the play-offs are raced Poole & Glasgow / Edinburgh have to wait even longer to arrange fixtures!
  16. If there was going to be a concern about Glasgow not wanting to race without Brennan, why not arrange the remaining NDL fixture for Friday?
  17. Think this tie is near from over (is that the opposite of far from over) Edinburgh can lose by 10 & still qualify!
  18. I heard (unoficailly) that Edinburgh had turned down a date to race the KOC tie at Glasgow, if true they can't then demand Glasgow turn up if the weegies don't agree to the date!
  19. If Brennan was no.2 in the averages I'd say use r/r, but he's 3rd in the averages so Cook wouldn't get an extra ride!
  20. Is that really an advantage, as both teams will know the first match score?
  21. Leicester can lose by 16 & still be in the semi finals, no chance for Scunny whatsoever! Leicester should go with r/r to give their riders track time & look for a guest to race against Poole!
  22. As it contradicts the announcement by Jason Pipe, I'd say it could be clearer!
  23. Kinsley wasn't missing due to a Championship clash, but because his machinery was stolen! According to the rules announced by Jason Pipe Morley shouldn't be allowed to guest! Seems either the announcement by Pipe was wrong or no-one knows the rules!
  24. Pipe said: “If any riders are missing, it is now a Guest or R/R for a missing No.1, and then it is R/R for one rider missing in the positions 2-5. “If two riders are missing in the 2-5 positions, then it is R/R and an unattached 3.00 pointer. This is to try and eliminate the number of doubling-up riders we have in the NDL. “So if your team has two missing riders on higher-league duty that day, then it’s a guest and R/R, not two guests etc, as it was previously.
  25. My memory is that's not the case, I'm sure they wanted to stop that to avoid doubling up riders racing in NDL!
