Danny Smith would be a good choice of a 3.00 rider, rode well for Newcastle before they dropped out
-
The minimum NL ave in 2021 was 3.00 not 2.00, unless that's changed, couldn't pick that team!
-
With more teams racing in 2022 may not be enough quality 3ish riders to go around! Better to keep a 3.2 rider than risk a newbie scoring 1 point a match in my view! Unless of course you have a Mulford / Ablitt turning 15!
-
Morley should be on his Champ ave doubled shouldn't he? That'd be below 8.00!
-
Smith wasn't an out and out number one when he signed but he was by the end of the season! With the league weaker again, can only see his average going up!
-
The lowest average for NL riders is 3.00 unless that has changed for 2022?
-
The strength of this team is based on: Three riders who have improved their averagea every season (Harry McGurk, Sam McGurk & Nathan Ablitt). One rider who averaged well above 3.00 but didn't race enough meeting to gain an average (Archie Freeman). One rider who averaged nearly 9.00 (Jack Smith) I don't think of JPB as a "steal" as he has that average for a reason & know nothing of Freddie Hodder. But as long as JPB keeps his ave Hodder could probably score nothing & they'd still win matches!
-
Just give them the title now!
-
I agree, doesn't mean it won't be Auty though! They might not be able to sign anyone stronger!
-
I'd expect him to hit 5, above that I'm not so sure?
-
As Kemp is averaging below 4, he needs to improve to be able to reach a 6.00 ave first - then we can see if that's his "ceiling" I think he should up his average, but am also surprised he hasn't done that already as he was a future superstar it seems at 15/16!
-
It would help if they announced sone riders, so I wouldn't have to guess all 7 lol!

Oxford Cheetahs 2022

I believe both Newman & Heeps especially can up their aves, alongside 2 x nine point men, that's a strong looking team so far! -
Josh Auty would be my guess!
-
I feel it's the complete opposite, but there you go!

Edinburgh 2022? Sam Masters 9.41 Josh Pickering 8.34 Justin Sedgmen 5.55 Kye Thompson 5.51 An Other 5.19 Dillon Ruml 4.00 Max Ruml 4.00 Total 42.00
-
If Edinburgh build strength in depth Sedgmen could end up as a heat leader! I'm not suggesting that if Edinburgh have 8 points to play with then make Sedgmen a heat leader, just if they have 5.6 points to play with - then he fits as a 3rd heat leader! If it's a choice if Sedgmen & a 4.00 reserve vs Wolbert & a 2.00 reserve, which is the stronger pair?

Oxford Cheetahs 2022

Then 5.03 with British reduction! Does he get a second British reduction because he didn't ride in 2021? Then it'd be 4.90 -
While Morris, Shanes & Newman may not have a lot of improvement in them, they can certainly put something on their averages. I'd certainly say they are more valuable to any team than the likes of Tobias Thomsen or Nick Agertoft were when signed in 2019!
-
Where do you get that figure from?
-
Personally I don't think Sedgmen would put a lot on his ave, but could up it a little. So unless someone can name a rider on a lower ave, who will score more, I'm curious why people are against signing him?
-
My point was, the argument against Sedgmen was that some clubs have riders that could "easily add 3 points to their average" so I'd argue, do these clubs have 7 riders who can put 3 points on their average? Clearly not! In that case if Monarchs can find a rider who can put 3 points on his average, can Sedgmen then be signed alongside him?
-
1) that's not a few sides 2) I'd say not a chance they'd put 3 points on their averages But everyone is entitle to their own opinion.
-
I certainly agree with that, if anything you need to show the landlords you're a business! I worry the likes of Birmingham apparently blindly accepting a large rent increase makes them look like fans desperate to keep the club going, rather than businessmen. Which while admirable does nothing to sway the landlords from attempting the same rent increase every year!
-
I cannot think of a single rider who could "easily put 3 points on his average" who are you referring to? Also Sedgmen has a higher ave than all the new younger Aussies: Kai Thomsen, Ben Cook, Zane Kennedy, Zach Cook, Zaine Keleher & Josh MacDonald. So he can't be that bad?
