  1. When you compare Poole's reaction to that of Plymouth when they lost Richard Lawson, it's like night & day. Plus Plymouth have more cause to complain as Lawson agreed to race for them in 2022, something Basso hadn't done. "The signing of Andersen follows the decision of Richard Lawson; who had verbally committed to The Gladiators for 2022 to focus more on his Premiership commitments with Kings Lynn in 2022 and to seek opportunities elsewhere. The Club thanks Richard for his efforts both as a short term Team Member and a regular Guest rider during 2021"
  2. That can't be the plan as his current Prem ave converted is 8.84, well above his current Champ ave. If he doesn't start 2022 in a Champ team, can't see him signing for anyone mid season!
  3. I cannot see why they would re-assess Wolbert's average tbh. It's not like his been injured / retired like Crump or James Wright (although he rode grasstrack), as he's been riding abroad! Is there a recent prescedence for averages being reassessed (not for injuries /retirements)?
  4. 0.16 doesn't stop Scunny signing Jorgensen, just stops him signing with the other 6. Replace Kinsley with a 2.00 man or Kennedy with MacDonald & Jorgensen fits - simple! There will always be potential teams just over the points limit, but if you allow a team to be 0.16 over, another will want to declare 0.25 over & so on!
  5. Edwards wasn't a rising star for Plymouth (Bowtell was) finished with a 2.16 ave.
  6. I think Jason Edwards is a good prospect & will up his average, but can't see him getting anywhere near a 5.00 ave.
  7. Both Rowe & Sarjeant scored poorly at Leicester this year, kinda to be expected as second strings / reserves against a strong Leicester team. But what if there are no 4.00 riders who rode well at Beaumont Park? Still gotta choose someone!
  8. While Wolbert makes Monarchs stronger at the top, leaves them weak at number 7! Edinburgh 2022? Sam Masters 9.41 Josh Pickering 8.34 Kevin Wolbert 8.00 Kye Thompson 5.51 Norick Bloedorn 4.00 Max Ruml 4.00 Phillips / Woolley 2.00 Total 41.26
  9. He was due to be 5.00 when signed for 2020?
  10. Edinburgh 2022? Sam Masters 9.41 Josh Pickering 8.34 Justin Sedgmen 5.52 Kye Thompson 5.51 Lasse Fredriksen 5.00 James Sarjeant 4.16 Max Ruml 4.00 Total 41.94
  11. On paper looks a good team, 3 good heat leaders. Two second strings who can up their averages. With 2 promising young Brits at reserve. By my maths the teams adds up to 40.37, if that's correct it's a surprise they've decided to go 1.6 under the limit!
  12. Looks very strong, does it fit under the points limit though?
  13. I hope this is how Glasgow complete their team (just to wind up Poole) Glasgow 2022? Steve Worrall 9.05 Richard Lawson 8.29 Tom Brennan 5.88 Ben Basso 5.00 Danyon Hume 4.88 Stefan Nielsen 4.67 Connor Bailey 4.04 Total 41.81
  14. Would Poole of won the league without the "rising star" system? Firstly they dropped Josh MacDonald for Danyon Hume (3*). Hume averaged 5.01 & MacDonald (3.96) so that certainly strengthened them! Then they wouldn't have been able to replace Keleher with Smetana / Basso in August as that would've taken them above the points limit! MacDonald using up 4 points compared to Hume's 3*!
  15. The first season of fixed race nights, the Prem had Mondays & Wednesday's (with Swindon allowed to stay on Thursdays)
  16. Heeps is a big risk in the Prem but a bargain in the Champ in my view! Now so many riders double up, I think things like "if Anders Rowe can show his Prem form in the Champ, he'll be a great signing" other way round for Batchelor!
  17. Next year will be different, riders such as Brennan with lots of fixtures removed from his rolling ave, so less about current form & can be legitimately called a "false/bargain" average!
  18. Plus win all your home matches & you'll probably be in the play-offs!
  19. It also depends who is available, for example a 5.5 rider who you expect to rise to 6.5 may be a better choice than Lambert, but a 3.00 man who could get up to 3.75 isn't! No point in people being negative about Lambert unless than can point out better options available!
  20. Well apparently the following riders aren't wanted by the majority: Auty, Newman, Shanes, Morris & Sedgmen and there's not a lot else out there, it's not easy to pick a team of available riders! Birmingham 2022? Ulrich Ostergaard 7.96 Paco Castagna 5.52 Adam Roynon 5.08 Jack Thomas 4.79 Vinnie Foord 2.00 Josh Warren 2.00 Kai Ward 2.00 Total 29.35 I know this won't be the team, but the point I'm trying to make is that's it's easy to say "no I don't want rider A,B or C" but harder to suggest available replacements, which not many do!
  21. I don't think team managers do "think ahead", when teams have r/r for a few weeks in a row, they always seem to use the riders in the same order for r/r outings. They don't seem to change plans based on who the opposition is!
