I would guess MPT signed on his 2017 ave (5.57) on 2nd of April because no Prem riders have new aves! What they are doing now, when they should be combining his 2017 & 2018 aves for a rolling ave, i've no idea!
Seem's a daft rule as a club could potentially benefit by a rider missing one of the first 4 matches for his club, as it could assist with a team change!
It must take a lot of work to organise fixtures for the whole league, so I wouldn't complain about fairness unless I had a suggestion of who could take it over!
Number 6 gets harder races than number 7, so don't expect Phillips to be scoring many more! I.e If heat 2 Scunny get a 4-2 Phillips gets one point between oppostion, then in next 2 races he meets the 1&2 then 3&4 pairing, so can only expect him to come last! Manzares would probably get an extra race in ht 12 or 14. So Phillips would end up with a 1.33 ave just by riding to form!
My biggest issue is by saying best 2nd place team, what does that mean? Should have specifically announced it as points per match or points difference etc. Alternatively why not just have a 3 team, 3 leg final!
i'm not too sure, but since Smith was dropped from his Champ side, does he not come back into league on his most recent ave (Prem converted) i'm sure that's what happened when BWD went from Workington to Peterborough?
I think the lower NL limit will only lead to riders struggling to make the step up to the Champ! Even if they're scoring well that may only be due to riding in a weaker league, not improving as riders! Look at the likes of Phillips and Bickley struggling in the Champ, shows how big the gap is!
Using their most up to date figures they fit, but that will change with matches due to be raced before the cut-off & a 26 match rolling ave replacing the current 28 match rolling ave!
So July aves should be?
Kenneth Bjerre 7.54
Hans Andersen 7.42
Kristian Pieszczek 6.50
Danny King 6.46
Kyle Newman 5.23
Todd Kurtz 4.02
James Sarjeant 3.00
Total 40.17
Leaving 2.33 to strengthen up!
I'd agree Eric Riss or Lasse Bjerre seem best options!
I think British Speedway got it right! Only Swindon would have to move from a Thursday (if they were forced too), but Poole, King's Lynn, Redcar, Sheffield & Ipswich would be have to move their race nights if Prem was Mon & Thurs! I think putting 5 British teams above a handful of Danish riders is the right thing to do for British Speedway!
I'm a bit young to remember Kelvin Mullarky but i've seen a little of him on VHS and my Dad always had fond memories of him (said he was a hard rider). RIP Kelvin xx
