  1. Gotcha, I was mainly thinking about the Champ not Prem.
  2. Don't know where you got that stat from, everything I see shows MPT was stronger at home not away?
  3. I'd say Vuolas would be a good signing if they had 4.5 remaining, not so great when they had over 6. However, it was expected they would be building under the limit, so that's tempers any disappointment. I think Sedgmen is better now & would've picked him, but Vuolas is the better prospect for the future, so can understand the signing. Although that doesn't mean if he improves Birmingham will benefit in the future as he could move on (like Brennan).
  4. If you look at MPT's Championship averages alone, you couldn't say he's "well past his best" at this level. Before 2017 never averaged above 7.00. 2018 - 7.96 2019 - 8.18 2021 - 7.32 2022 - 6.76 2023 - 7.01 2024 - 7.80 I think because he can be inconsistent, people make out he's worse than he actually is. Granted in the Premiership his scores have certainly fallen, even allowing for the fact it was a far weaker league when he averaged 7+ in the Prem.
  5. Riders like Lahti & Madsen would be given new averages even though they previously had an average in GB. As a former GP rider Madsen may be assessed at 8.00, but as he's not a current GP rider not totally sure.
  6. There's been quite a lot of talk about Klindt vs Zagar (who's better) plus also how Klindt is far superior to MPT. But because of the averages the questions should really be, which would be better: Zagar & 3.00 rider Klindt & 3.92 rider MPT & 6.00 rider. I would have gone for MPT & another second string, but I don't know if that was ever in their plans. Although I suppose if they end up going with Ben Trigger as the last rider, then both Zagar & Klindt would've fitted, so it does become a relevant question, who'd be better Zagar or Klindt?
  7. I can't imagine why they'd go for Covatti over the likes of Sedgmen, Batchelor or Kerr. Maybe if he'd had an injury free season, but he'd be no where near the top of my list. Mind you with Peter Schroeck you never know what he's gonna do.
  8. I wouldn't want Nick Morris at all. Would rather have Sedgmen
  9. Possibly going to announce their side at their next video night?
  10. I think you're selling MJJ short there, he had a fantastic season, must have achieved more than anyone could have expected. Of course not everyone takes to the GB tracks like the do the Polish ones, but as he's ridden here before, should do well. If I was a Brummies fan I'd be relieved that they now have a chance to avoid the wooden spoon.
  11. After his performances in the Polish Extraliga last year, that's a brilliant signing
  12. Attempting a team using former Fen Tigers Connor Coles 8.00 Jack Kingston 6.45 Matt Marson 6.20 Alex Spooner 5.07 Luke Muff 4.83 Elliott Kelly 4.41 Sam Woolley 3.00 Total 37.96
  13. Yeah, totally agree. With a sparse fixture list it's very disappointing.
  14. I'd normally agree with that reasoning, except a few people have said Berwick get good crowds for the Border Trophy?
  15. In one way it's a positive that Oxford (& Birmingham) haven't completed their teams. You'd think they could very easily sign British based riders like Batchelor, Kerr or Sedgmen, I can't imagine any of them turning down a doubling up spot? They are already based here, so don't have to worry about flights etc. The fact they haven't signed them must mean they are looking at stronger options, which has to be a positive right?
  16. The problem is fans don't always attend in numbers to make more fixtures viable, obviously this isn't the case for every fan but maybe the majority? 1) Fans say "we want more matches" 2) Clubs put on a challenge match to start the season 3) fans don't turn up in great numbers, say they want official fixtures only 4) clubs put on NDL matches 5) fans don't turn up, say they want Championship level racing only 6) because Edinburgh, Glasgow, Redcar & Scunthorpe all race on Fridays, to make 2 home & 2 away work, clubs have to ride on an off- race night 7) fans don't turn up, say they want Friday matches only. Not saying the current situation is great, just that every solution / alternative has flaws.
  17. It has nothing to do with Poole, other than the fact they are not in the Premiership nor in the Premiership KOC. If you posted a new thread in the Premiership section maybe called "new KOC idea" fans, especially of other Premiership teams could comment wether they think it's a good idea or not, maybe get a healthy debate going? But posting here could clog up the thread with comments that have nothing to do with Poole.
  18. Interesting idea, but should be in the Premiership section.
  19. Did the same thing not happen at Peterborough, they wanted Tarasenko to ride at reserve but Wojdylo had to ride there, despite there being no ruling to enforce that decision?
  20. I would have thought Redcar & Workington were the best options as they're not in the same BSN group?
  21. I think Scott is the strongest unsigned 2.00 rider, however he may not want to risk his average going above 2.00 knowing he'll get dropped. If it does go above 2.00 makes it harder for him to fit into the Oxford team as a double switch with Nicholls - not that's there's a guarantee he'll fit even on a 2.00 average. I think Jody Scott would be better off agreeing to ride 5 matches (& KOC) for Poole, then see what his average is before deciding wether to carry on? It's a very unique situation, of a rider knowing he'll be dropped, so he's bound to think of his average, compared to normal 2.00 signings.
  22. Only 6 matches needed for a new average, Cairns would get a new average before the season ends.
  23. That's a confusing reply, if you don't count Cook's reduction, why would you count Hagon's lol!
