Birmingham v Ipswich Mon 27th May PL
szkocjasid replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well done Birmingham -
That really is a daft comment. It's clearly not true, 1) why on earth would Poole be worried about a home match with Plymouth? 2) why would Newman not try his best for his current employers? So if you're gonna make a comment that's not true surely you'd try & make a joke, make people laugh, not sure what this achieved? If you had said "Newman is riding like he's been paid by Poole", to show your disappointment in his score, that may be harsh on Newman, but better than suggesting he's a cheat.

Doubt it, even if the tie is won, can see Perry only getting 3 rides. -

I'll go Leicester 46-44 Oxford -
Once there was a good chance the meeting wouldn't go to heat 15, the tac sub should have been used early, so Aces didn't miss out on using it. Also Bailey's 3rd ride should have been left to heat 14, which may have been the plan, so he'd only get 2 rides.

I would suggest Worrall, Sedgmen or Lampart are most likely to get dropped. While that would appear hard on Sedgmen, they've got to do what's best for Birmingham. -
Leicester v Oxford 27th May

It HAD to be a joint decision. Harris went to Peterborough allowing Richie Worrall to come to Leicester (as part of a double change). Had Harris not agreed to go to, Worrall wouldn't have been available to come in & Harris would've stayed at Leicester. Despite this Harris said in a Speedway Star interview he was angry about being dropped & considered sitting out the rest of the Premiership season! -
Freddie Lindgren signs. Brummies get the top number one they've been missing. “We haven’t yet decided who Freddie will replace in the team; let’s just say that we’ll be monitoring performances very carefully in both Monday’s home fixture against Ipswich and then Thursday’s meeting at Sheffield.” The rest of team have a couple of matches to impress. Who would you drop? Not an easy decision tbh

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions

MPT might score very well from reserve, but of course if Lynn could find a 6+ rider that would push Wojdylo back to reserve, then that could be a really competitive team. -

Is it wise for Speedway riders to hold grudges? There's not a endless supply of clubs to ride for. I'd totally understand Holder & Batchelor refusing to sign / guest for Lynn, as they were dropped at the transfer cut-off & left with no chance of finding another team. Whereas Kerr was dropped in an attempt to strengthen the team & straight away found a new club. -

Even if Ipswich lose at Birmingham, still gonna make the play-offs. No cause for concern till the last 4 meetings of the season. -

Gp world Championship qualifying rounds

Not that it matters this time as Kvech has qualified, but hope di they choose which round would only get 3 qualifiers if a Czech didn't qualify? Was there any reason / logic to the decision? -

I still wouldn't be surprised to see Woffinden get a wild card next year. -
I certainly hope not.

I'd rather finish bottom of the league without Garrity than win the league with Garrity.

Workington v Oxford championship 3pm 25/05/24
szkocjasid replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Zischke would have a 4.62 converted average, wouldn't fit into the Sheffield or Leicester team in place of a reserve. Possibly Lynn in place of MPT or Birmingham would've been after him? -

Darcy had one season in the second tier before stepping up, Chris Holder had 2. Might have to go all the way back to Leigh Adams to find the next Aussie who did one season then stepped up to the top flight. If Zischke doesn't want to step up.thod year, can take guest bookings (visa allowing) ahead of next season, when I'm sure he'll be doubling up. -

I don't understand the point you are trying to make, but I think you're the only person on the Forum who thinks Birmingham have a good / strong team. I tried to be positive before, but they've shown me the truth, they are absolutely awful! -
Dan Gilkes signs for Redcar. More track time over here should help his scores for Sheffield I'd expect
-
But they don't use his last Champ average. Wether you agree with the rule or not, he comes in on a converted average, then after one match, goes back to his Champ rolling ave.

One downside if Zischke racing at 2, is he finished his rides very early. Could that be why he wasn't used in heat 15? Not that Batchelor was a bad choice this week, far from it. -

Workington's top 5 are all very good (especially at home). If Vissing & Vuolas don't ride well as a pair, why not experiment with different riders each match?
