  1. On what was another cold night , it good to have the meeting pushed through without any major incidents or delays .Great racing throughout the meeting. For Berwick a big thank you to both of our guests top performances from both , an off par night from Theo & Kevin didn't hep our cause and it looks like Anders is still a bit off the pace making the same mistake twice when under pressure didn't help his scoring , hopefully when he's fully fit we'll see a different Anders . Seb doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders yet although there where some signs last night of the old Seb. Richie was a big miss for Glasgow and if Coty keeps putting in those types of performances it wont be long until he's in the main body of the team .So with the league cup and " friendlies " done and dusted and all the cobwebs blown off its time to get down to league business hopefully with 7 fit riders on track .
  2. Good facilities , warmer weather , decent racing and teams with at least 5 top quality British riders would be a start
  3. After the late downpour any chance of a decent meeting went out the window . It looked pretty obvious after his first outing that " Super " Seb was none keen on the conditions that added to TJ's gremlins and Berwick's inability to make a decent gate in the early heats meant it was always going to be a struggle one Edinburgh got any sort of lead . From where I was I though Ryan's actions in heat 15 where extremely naughty and can't really understand why the ref kept him in the re-run , fair play to Edinburgh though the came , saw and conquered . It looks the league cup has passed us by again for another season , hopefully the guys will put in a decent performance today and we can back on the winning track next Saturday when with some luck the weather will behave and it will be dry and a lot warmer
  4. http://www.westerngazette.co.uk/Curry-house-chef-prepared-food-wiping-hands/story-29110626-detail/story.html dont want a burger from here
  5. This will be a though fixture , we've already seen how much "Flying Ryan " likes Shielfield could be a potential banana skin if we're not on top form . The result up there will mean nothing if we don't win this one , a win for Edinburgh vs Glasgow on Friday could see the Bandits in pole position in this section away wins are vital so we can afford any slips
  6. What happened to the alleged set of track covers that where supposed to be used if a TV meeting was in doubt ? The track at Brewick was fully covered last night , the covers where removed about 10-15 mins before the start of the meeting and the surface was more or less bone dry underneath and the racing went ahead as planned
  7. Are the Stock Cars on , on Sat night ? Is this the possible reason for calling it off , if the weather was bad would the track be ready in time ?
  8. A weather update about 4:30 / 5pm would be most welcomed , save another wasted journey for those of us who have to travel a distance , thanks in advance
  9. I can't understand why Edinburgh have objected when they don't have a meeting that night , no doubt someone " in the know " will explain all to us mere mortals who once again are being treated like mushrooms
  10. Studio work will most likely go to someone like Craig Doyle , with Scott Nicholls & or Sam Ermolenko as pundits , don't expect that there will be a change in the commentators or pits interviewers
  11. Hasn't Christian Henry retired?
  12. A bit like the extra verses of GSTQ that wee don't sing then
  13. Advance Australia fair is their anthem as Billy Connolly once remarked about Daley Thompson's whistling through the anthem at a medal ceremony " He was probably bored "
  14. At leat Australia have an anthem that is actually about their country, not some outdated monarchy . If North Korea forced people to sing about how great their leader is we'd be mocking them , but in this country we are quite happy to do it ourselves, time for a new anthem altogether I say, one that is actually about the UK
  15. Excited are you ? Whatever floats your boat !
  16. Everyone seems to be certain that Carr is nailed on , I suspect there might be more clubs than Berwick looking to sign him , question is how much are Berwick prepared to pay to secure his services ? Personally I'd rather see them pay him a wee bit more than sign a duff overseas rider
  17. Dick Barie is in Australia, long trip back for a night in the B&G
  18. Some promoters are far to busy trying to stab each other in the back too see the " big picture "
  19. TBH. I can't see the N/L being a viable option as things stand ATM , the main reason being there's no local opposition unless the league structure changes our nearest local team would probably be Buxton , and they're hardly going to make up for losing the likes of Edinburgh or Glasgow are they ?
  20. It's a pity he's not still involved in the sport in some capacity, he was a great guy new how to build good teams too , might have been a bit of a rogue but so where guys like Mike Parker the sport needs a few more characters.
  21. I sometimes think that speedway promoters have a " Field of Dreams " attitude to meetings - " If we stage it they will come "
  22. Send a letter to Santa Claus and he may grant you a Christmas wish , be cause there is as much chance of it happening that way than there is of an independent body being set up anytime soon
