  1. If Buster is calling the shots then you’d think Worrall is a certainty to be green lighted.
  2. A short term deal would make me even more wary of Holder. Hope that doesn’t happen.
  3. Nobody can report what isn’t done really. Louis has already said in yesterdays press release they’re HOPING to announce more next week. If nothing has been signed it can’t be reported on. Elvin was very good though on reporting on the Witches, as was Mike Bacon so it’ll be interesting to see who from the local press picks up the baton.
  4. Possibly, although Hawkins did say over a month ago it would be in to February before the team was revealed. At least it’s nearly over for both clubs
  5. Louis also provided an update on how team building is going as they edge closer to completing the side. “I understand fans’ frustration that things this year are moving much slower than we are used to in terms of completing the team. It is very important for the club, sponsors, riders and fans that we do our upmost to get the best we can and to entertain the fans and put together a side that has the best chance of winning. It is frustrating that it is taking longer than normal but there are reasons for that. Things have sped up a little in the last few days and we remain on target to hopefully update the fans in another week’s time.” https://ipswichwitches.co/2023-partner-sponsors-rn-euston-scott-properties/ Partner sponsors announced. Interesting snippet on the team at the end of the article
  6. Sayfutdinov gained Polish citizenship back in 2009! Doesn’t sit well with me any of this to be honest. On Holder, is he really that interested in riding here? Maybe he is I don’t know him but I’m a bit sceptical about Chris Holder based on his past efforts at Lynn. If he isn’t now at Peterborough and then doesn’t end up at Ipswich either then it’s one of two things, he’s not all that bothered about doing UK or Louis doesn’t want him. Maybe Holder and Buster can smooth things over..
  7. Always used to see Hans Nielsen in the wongs Chinese after the meetings whenever he visited Foxhall.
  8. Actually not sure about Leicester. In the past they’re definitely brought the best away following! Well supported. Agree to a point. Once the team is announced not sure any amount of interviews will provide the same amount of interest as outstanding team members will. But, in this day and age there’s no reason why clubs and promoters can’t do a weekly or even monthly, blog on official social media with the latest updates on club matters even if it’s not team related. For instance, Louis at Ipswich told folks who attended the supporters club thingy that they were hoping to stage the much loved 16 lapper this year, as well as adding banking to the track etc. anyone who didn’t attend would have no idea of that, why isn’t it on the official website? It should be. As you say, it’s really not hard to do.
  9. I’ll counter that, I’ll bet none of those have sold more season tickets than Ipswich..
  10. I know some fans get impatient, but here we are six weeks from opening night and the Peterborough and Ipswich threads are the only ones still active. The Belle Vue, Lynn, Sheffield, Leicester and Wolves threads have died a death. At least waiting this long has kept fans interested and speculating over the long winter months! OK some will say it’s been nothing but a load of old guff and drivel but still
  11. Well six weeks today so at least we know the end game is near
  12. Could finally be an end in sight. Speedway Star article saying remaining three COULD be announced in one go later next week.
  13. You’d think Emil would be every bit if not more expensive than Doyle so the dough in theory should still be there for someone else of a decent calibre if that doesn’t come off. Six weeks tomorrow we face Peterborough at Foxhall so it’s creeping up on us!
  14. Seems by Louis’ comments they’re giving it another fortnight before making definitive decisions. We know who they’re waiting on, and it seems they’re giving it two more weeks before moving on to plan B.
  15. And he’s basically admitted this himself with his recent interview. That’s why I’d be very wary of signing him. Look at the “effort” he put in at Lynn, and that was years ago when he was in his pomp. I’d swerve him personally.
  16. As long as the team is completed by March 15th I don’t care when they announce it. March 15th is the season ticket deadline and I’m still in two minds whether to get one or not.
  17. Louis says that the title sponsors are just as keen as everyone else at the club to see the Witches lift the Premiership trophy in 2023. “For all that I have said about Guy and Jake, the family and the business, they are winners, they want to be the best in what they do, and they want us to be the best. They are dead set on putting that Premiership trophy in the cabinet along with Ritchie (Hawkins), myself, and the riders we have every year. That is always the intention, they are so supportive and want the best for us. “They were made up to be led by a rider last year like Jason (Doyle) and to have him back is great. That’s partly why it is taking us a while to complete the team and we hope we can update everyone in the next couple of weeks with what is happening there, we are striving to be the best team we can.” https://ipswichwitches.co/tru-mix-to-continue-sponsorship-in-2023/
  18. But he was talking about the Premiership rising star list so as far as that goes, the numbers are irrelevant. He looks like one of the plum picks for me so the fact nobody has gone with him is staggering. I mean he’s our asset, and yet we’ve gone for Jack Thomas instead. Something definitely amiss there.
  19. That wasn’t said at all. No club was mentioned, you’re just speculating that it was Ipswich.
  20. Numbers are irrelevant, he’s a rising star. Rising stars don’t contribute to the team building totals.
  21. Think the idea is to sign Hume as the reserve, and hope Rew holds his own in the main body. Hume will start in the main body (if signed) because of the starting averages, but they’ll be effectively signing him as the reserve with Thomas. Seems from the Hume interview in last weeks Speedway Star, he’s expecting an Ipswich place. Rowe could well be the number 8, at either Ipswich or Peterborough.
  22. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him get a place here still.
  23. Came in to the sport very late, makes you wonder what he’d have achieved if he’d have started in his teens/early 20’s rather than late 20’s. One of the real good guys of the sport as well, never heard a bad word said about him from anyone.
