Peterborough Panthers 2023
Arch Stanton replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I read it as Friday next week, not today.. -
Good to see a return of a home bank holiday fixture! May 1st against Lynn, 2.30pm start.
-
Would leave 7.31. So if he is, that would leave a Chris Holder sized hole
-
Slice it any way you like, but I’m absolutely certain his GSA would be higher than it is now if he was at Ipswich this coming season. Well, ALMOST certain..
-
Disagree. Andersen at Foxhall in the 1-5 ups his current average comfortably.
-
Would be a far better signing for us on sub 5 than for your lot no question. His Foxhall scoring would see that increase. Possibly part of plan B.
-
Absolutely he’d take it, he doesn’t have any other options. Just can’t see Louis offering him a place. We’ll see.
-
He hated the place.
-
But we don’t need a 3 pointer. If we signed a 3 pointer we’d have over 9 left for a heatleader, we’re not signing a 9+ pointer. Baldyman has listed some good talent who would come in on a 4, on the basis of signing Sayfutdinov on an 8 point average.
-
You can probably rule Mountain out cos I’d forgotten about his stint with us as someone else pointed out, he just couldn’t get round Foxhall and was axed mid season if my memory is correct.
-
Yes, he certainly did.
-
Dunno Doyle is so so good to watch though we’ll certainly miss him when he’s gone that’s for sure. And Rew will generate some interest too, always good to go and see new young talent that we don’t know too much about.
-
Sayfutdinov would obviously generate more excitement, but would Emil and Hume/Mountain/Starke score more combined than say Pawlicki with either Cook or Andersen? Wouldn’t be much in it really. I really don’t want to see Rew thrown in to the main body of the side from the off, which signing one of Hume/Mountain/Starke would do. For that reason IF Emil signs, I’d plump for Heeps or another new 4 pointer with a tad more experience.
-
He averaged 4.40 for Ipswich as recent as 2019 and was chopped for Edward Kennett. Granted the track at Foxhall didn’t suit him and he’ll find Sheffield much more to his liking, but he was still pretty dreadful pretty much everywhere. On some of the bigger tracks where you’d expect him to do well, he scored 4 from 4 at Peterborough, 2 at Kings Lynn and shockingly a big fat zero at his former track at Swindon! He did score a decent 10 at Belle Vue though.
-
Think that’s more their age rather than their average.
-
It was earlier in the season before the warm weather hit that the outside line was non existent though. Particularly the home cup meeting against Peterborough where King was frustrating every Witches fan watching by refusing to budge off an outside line that clearly wasn’t working and and being passed repeatedly by riders nipping up the inside. The outside line got better as the season went on.

Peterborough Panthers 2023

Jungle drums have Andersen again a Panther next season. We’ll see. -
Not quite sure why Skidder and Shovlar find this funny? The fact Flint is already averaging more than Cook at 4 years his junior makes the above spot on. Don’t see the fuss with Zach Cook to be honest. Flint will again average more than Cook next season IMO.
-
It was a mixed bag for some reason, some meetings it didn’t work at all and then the next it was working like a treat.
-
And more examples. These aren’t mugs he’s passing either they’re top heatleaders. He may never get back to that and could be on a permanent decline who knows, it would be a gamble for sure.
-
What on earth has happened to this lad? Was a 6 and a half pointer in a pretty strong league as recent as 2019! Shocking to see him fall away as much as he has. No idea what happened during that Covid break but he came back a totally different rider. I appreciate having him back is a big gamble, but he potentially offers far more than Hume, Starke or Mountain IF someone can get hold of him and shake him out of his slumber. He had a highlight reel all of his own a few seasons ago and was box office entertainment around Foxhall. Sad to see.
