NEWCASTLE SPEEDWAY TRAINING SESSION - Sun 28th August Sorry to say but we are having to CANCEL the training session planned for Sunday 28th this Sunday. Due to absences and holidays, we don't have enough people to set the sheets and air fence, as well as provided the pushers, etc, for the training session. If I can find an opportunity in September I will run another session, weather, PL fixtures and NJL fixtures permitting. Sorry once again.

Bad luck to Dale with a painful first heat fall, and damaged ribs stopped him riding again. Thanks to both sets of riders for putting on a good show for the supporters who stayed behind to cheer their team on. No times, sorry.

Rain - Edinburgh (armadale)
Tsunami replied to TheScotsman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Remember those days with the oatmeal looking shale. One time we were staying overnight on the Saturday, and I rang Tim at 11.00am and it was lashing down, and I was ready to hit the road home. Tim was confident and sure enough it started at 2.30pm with a decent track that nobody would have thought possible. -
I think the cutoff date has already been moved back once screm. With both Somerset's meetings being called off, I wonder if there was any mileage in Somerset doing a double header at Newcastle along with Peterborough tomorrow, and us getting two other teams on Sun 4th Sept when Somerset are planned to be at Brough. Just a thought. Would seriously brake into the number of outstanding home meetings to be run at Brough, in addition to the meeting now on Mon 12th Sept after the PLRC. EDIT. Just realised that Somerset are riding at Glasgow on Sunday. Damn.

Glasgow V Ipswich Pl Sunday 14 August 2016 3pm

In addition SS, water in the shale is eased out to the surface with tyre packing, as opposed to squeezing the water outside of the line of the heavy roller. The track is more consistant, and as you say does a better job of regripping the track mid meeting. -
So you now agree that your statement that the 6 points was false, were in fact real and according to the competition rules.
-
You really talk crap sometimes Sidney. All points that the TeamGB scored in the World Cup were as per the rules. The rules are there for everyone, and were abided by. There is/was NO false points.

See you there.

What Changes Have To Be Made In 2017?
Tsunami replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Could be, but it doesn't make the League Matches useless. Next you will be saying the same about Cup matches, but to chose a 'winner' there has to be some matches to select the final 2 teams. If it is any indication, it was announced last night that the car park had been closed cos it was full, and they ran out of programmes, something they did last week I believe against Peterborough. Home straight grandstand looked full, poor crowd in the back straight one, and good ring of supporters(including the Geordies) around the 1st and 2nd top section. Decent atmosphere actually. Pity about the Meteors V Gems NJL match callof, but the kids safety is more important. -
Newcastle Diamonds Vs Rye House Rockets Pl 7.8.2016
Tsunami replied to mike7164's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Weather good today with no threat of rain and 18/19 degrees temp. Could be an interesting meeting with Kennett spoiling our party aided and abetted by Robbo. I still go for a pretty easy win for the Diamonds by about 18-20 points. Hope Kus gets his engines sorted for tonight, as he was clearly nursing them last night after getting filled in in his first ride. -
What Changes Have To Be Made In 2017?
Tsunami replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The story about the use of a TS was originally any team behind could use one, but that was changed on the night and the new format may well be 4 or 5. Each rider still has a minimum 3 rides of his 5 programmed rides. Quite agree as long as there is a pace for the heats, without drawn out periods of little or no activity. I exclude the track grading every 4 heats, as that maintains a more even track standard throughout the meeting. To start a meeting, and the main purpose for some is to 'get this over as quick as possible' defies what a genuine fan is going to meeting for in the first place. Spot on. I remember his attitude and responses to the many people, with actual experience and technical thoughts, on the use of concrete start gates. Attacked the ones who knew what it's all about and ended out being abusive as if was the only one prepared to debate his suggestions. -

Yes, and I seem to remember in earlier days that it was confirmed Moxey stopped going when he had to pay to get in. I think he either wrote in or sold the Speedway Mail. Not exactly a suitable force to listen to IMO. -

Crashes You Couldn’t Believe A Rider Walked Away From
Tsunami replied to sparkafag's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The Robbo and Ruud crash on the forth bend was I agree horrific and in fact use as a video intro in many websites. His bike hit the inner dog rail and took out the electrics on it. Robbo had difficulty walking away from it. When his wife Laura ? got to him, sitting up against the gate, thinking the worse no doubt, all he could say was 'av borst me bag' nearly losing a testicle in the crash. -
Should Greg Hancock Ride For Usa?
Tsunami replied to John Leslie's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I don't think we need to worry about downgrading the World Cup competition. In this case, a certain Yank just thought he could be his usual insincerity, and gain some credit for a planned decision to stop at home with the wife and kids, instead of riding for his country in the biggest comp that that country could compete in. Some folks fall for it but. -
Crashes You Couldn’t Believe A Rider Walked Away From

Stephen Jones in 1999 at Newcastle. In last place coming out of the 4th bend, his throttle jammed and rammed a fence post early in the first bend and stopped dead. We all thought he was, as him, the bike and fence were mangled together. From 60ish mph to zero in about 6 inches, John Campbell and I just turned away in shock unable to talk about what had happened in front of us about 10 metres away. Always had a special relationship with Stevo as a junior, but now more special that he is back riding 17 years on for Buxton and a canny lad.
