That 'yummy' presenter has a serious speech impediment. She's certainly no Sophie Blake. -
What a hypocrite! Which reminds me of when Wimborne MCC wanted to stage their big grastrack meeting, The Whoppa, near Fordingbridge in the New Forest. The locals objected and got their way. Their ringleader was none other than Murray Walker.

Your anti-greyhound stance is your own matter, and others on here may well sympathise, but using it as a stick to beat other sports with will do yourself or your cause no favours.

I have the programme from 17th October 1947, the last meeting of the season. It confirms the 80.2 by Dick Campbell as the record and furthermore it was not broken during this meeting.

Poole v Belle Vue 31-5-78 Poole: Malcolm Simmons Danny Kennedy Christer Sjosten Martin Yeates Neil Middleditch Mike Curoso Kelvin Mullarkey Only 2/7 are still alive - Yeatesy and Middlo. For the era, that's surprisingly few. Belle Vue: Alan Wilkinson Chris Turner Peter Collins Chris Morton Les Collins Jim Brett Robert Maxfield 6/7 are still alive - only Wilky has passed away

It's been confirmed that Poole legend Ken Middleditch (father of Neil) has sadly passed away. Memories of Poole Pirates Speedway Club | Facebook He made an initial impression at Hastings before moving to Poole in 1950 where he became an all-time great. His partnership with Tony Lewis became known as 'me and my shadow' such was their team riding prowess. R.I.P Ken

This is why I've never agreed with the 'any speedway is better than none' brigade as bad speedway can do more harm than good in the long run.

Similar to all motorsport then from what I've seen.

I'm sure Joe Owen did 4 in a row in his second spell with Newcastle and also that he won all 4 - the last 4 races of the match. Maybe v Mildenhall but just guessing now.
