Don't forget a lot of the tickets were sold on Groupon at £8.00.

Barker, King, schlein and Worrall wouldn't have ridden for peanuts. Nichols agreed terms then pulled out for sky glory, don't know what happened to Bridger. Don't agree terms and then pull out if they weren't happy with them. Doolan got injured Bridger pulled out on Friday night and so did Kerr what are they to do do? The original line up was quite different to the one we got, Doolan was supposed to be there but was injured. Do you know for certain that Magnus wasn't asked and couldn't make it? I'm not a fan of Bjerre so can take him or leave him really, I think all told they did the best they could.
-
Still a ruling though !!!!
-
Nothing to do with them all living abroad then? and the Freestyle organisers obviously didn't want to fork out for airfares?. Doolan agreed terms but was injured, I think Graverson is on holiday. Next question
-
If Leicester appeal the appeal will need to be heard and 'ruled on' even if it's not upheld. It's not difficult is it!!!! Another vagary of Speedway a team gets rewarded for not completing it's fixtures whilst in PO position. I can see this becoming another loophole in the rules to be exploited like so many others.
-
It's going to be a fun night on pro boards with all these teams battling and scratching around for every point.
-
That's all well and good but what's your point? Injured apparently !!!!
-
Were you at Scunthorpe? Did you hear Rob G mention that there was going to be a mini classic (olden days) tournament which we may enter? but I believe the matter of play off's. I'm sure the promotion as much as anyone wants to put more meetings on but until Saturday when RH was called off we still had a mathematical chance of making the play off's but I bet there is a plan B. So maybe give the promotion a little more than 24 hours to sort riders staff and track for such a tournament.
-
I had actually moved on until other posters had continued
-
Yep I have put money on a Bear thinking that. Funny how it's only Bears coming out to defend it. You didn't actually get there fair and square though 1 meeting outstanding and 1 point awarded ummmmm!!!!!
-
Would it help for the league champions to get a buy into the PO final then 2 - 7 go through a qualifying system for the other spot? That would also solve the Leicester / Redcar problem. I'm sure the top of the league clubs aren't looking forward to the PO's either as everything is won and lost on the toss of a coin really. How many top of the league teams have actually gone on to win the PO's anyway?
-
Agree with cutting the play off's down to 4 6 is too many and then the problem would go away. To think the difference between your team being in or out is down to 24 points but having said that we should have done better in the other 23 other meetings and not leave it. We lost our play off place at RH with an extremely unfit Edberg and if he wasn't fit then he shouldn't have returned as he clearly hadn't done 4 laps on a bike till RH and that appeared to continue onto Newcastle. I don't know if he had aggravated the injury as for the Edinburgh match he seem to have improved.
-
The ironic thing is if it went by points for as opposed to against Leicester would be in the play off's as Redcar would have to score 50 odd points at RH. So I suppose it just wasn't meant to be.
-
Lets face it if we had qualified in the same manner we wouldn't be bleating. So fair play How would that give the comp any credibility? It would be like the other mini competitions. KOC PLC etc......

Rye House V Redcar Sat.14th Sept.
TMW replied to BossMan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well if that was the rule in 2007 then it won't have been changed it should still be the same.....have a day off this is speedway rules don't stay the same from 1 year to the next let alone 6 :-) -
Think you are clutching at straws there because, that is kind of the same thing?
-
Well done the Lions Even with the somewhat dubious Ht 11, nobody gave them a hope!!!!! I knew they would do it
-
And if Edinburgh hadn't needed a tactical in ht 12 he probably would have set one in ht 11

Rob Godfrey when dropping Bates, apologies June I know Scunny is your team, said that Bates had to go because he hadn't brought Douglas half way round the world to drop him. Bates has got steadily better as has Douglas. I wonder if the season was 1 too short for him but he may have been at the same level as Douglas had they stuck with him and I think this is quite widespread. Sheffield have just signed a German and gave Koppe much more of a go than Knight I suppose they brought him over to and Glasgow have already said that they are committed to developing Australians hence Joey Ringwood who I thought was poor, at best, when I saw him. The British lads have to fire from the get go or they are out because it is easier to drop them sadly

I think everything that needs to be said has been said now to do the talking on track

Looks like being a good competitive match on a good evening weatherwise. Should be a big crowd with Dudley bringing a lot of spectators. The Storm team does not seem to comply with rule 18.2.3. Am I reading the rule book correctly since the rules seem to indicate 1 R/R, 1 Guest and 1 non NL 3 pointer? 18.2.3 In the National League: Absent #1: G (who must be in a NL Line-Up) or RR Absent Rider (2 – 5): RR Two Absent Riders (2 -5) 1 x RR and 1 x G (Team Manager discretion) All other Absences **: any Rider not in an NL Declaration with a NL 3.00 ** Replacement Riders will take the programmed place of the Missing Rider(s)

So much expectation so few comments.

No puzzle I do bang the Brit drum but.....I am also realistic about a team who needed every point due to Kake carrying an injury and Kev and Lasse's up and down performances the pressure was always going to be on the reserves therefore there was a need to have high scoring reserves. I think SN would have cut it eventually. The brits have a raw deal and need to be signed and stuck by. On the Stefan note.....He has ridden 2 seasons in the Danish league,3 seasons in the NL , 1 in the PL tells me that by now he should be staying on his bike my point being should we really be signing him as a replacement for anybody?.

Most of the promoters are from the pre social media era and probably struggle to get to grips with how to manage it and, probably were able to keep stuff under their hats a bit more. That's probably why they hate it particularly the anonymity of it you can even have a made up account on facebook. I have to admit I wouldn't like to box shadows, a possibility that someone who I talk to and talks to me on my terraces then posts bile on here about my business. Promoters will never reply to anonymity and neither should they.

Rider Size, How Much Does It Matter?
TMW replied to manchesterpaul's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think for that you need to look at the size of their feet not the general corporal size :-)
