I wouldnt say 'Who wanted it' I would probably say 'who needed it' anyway according to Mr Mungo's post it looks like BV have agreed to extend the deadline so that answers your question of BV's commitement.

How was seeing riders walking around in race suits gonna make the conditions any better and how would that make the riders any less or more up for it. Yes Sheffield desperatly hoped they could get the meeting on and fair play to all those who slogged it out on the track to try and achieve that but even the most blind optimist in the stadium could see the meeting was not going to go ahead. Bikes and equipment were all in the pits just squashed under cover to try and keep them dry. I do think you are clutching at straws a little there to find someone to blame.

To be fair Rob. alhough they will be greatly missed, these are lads who have played a big part in getting the boys into the play off's, I would say. Hopefully the remainder can step on it and back Howarth up. Although I'm sure everybody will be keeping their fingers crossed for Jason

Thank you for taking the time to explain, I'm not fishing to find out if you pay or not that is down to the individual and how they use it. If I don't like something then I don't go but obviously I didnt take into account you may have been going to watch the opposition. Anyway I'm sure teams and riders you help are greatful for your support and the rest are greatful of your admission fee. Long may it continue.

I didnt say he was a freeloader I just cant understand why he would pay week in week out to attend a track he obviously dislikes, the only solution I could come up with was, he doesnt. He may help out but he is mixing and socialising with people who the next day are going to get a slagging off on here. Obviuosly after reading his comments on the stoke thread there seemed to be a pattern emerging as he proceded to do the same on the Stoke thread. Anyway I dont know him I can only go on what he posts that can be a problem sometimes on here people can be taken out of context.
-
I disagree with your assessment of Stoke. the play offs are over 2 legs even though Stoke did drop some points at Loomer Road it looked like Stoke were set for a fight back before the 2 riders were injured possibly trying too hard who knows, this shows that not only is trackmanship essentialand ability but the right psycological approach to such occasions. I feel for Mildenhall who unfortunatly have a little bit of a hollow victory I'm sure every team wants to beat the strongest of teams. I felt Micheal Lee came across well in the press release in his assessment of the victory but now they have to move on I to hope the lads are all good soon and that Stoke can move on and focus on the 2nd leg of the KO cup as there is still a chance for them to get that.

You do seem to keep going back to BV for more. Why do you keep paying and travelling to watch such poor meetings or do you get in for free enjoy their hospitality and then come on here and slag them off thats the only reason why I can think that you go. BV have a crap track Stoke have poor team spirit anybody else you want to tear limb from limb while you are at it. It wouldnt be Mildenhall who have just put the airfence up today at the end of the season who excels I imagine. I would ask John Resch about that maybe he has a different opnion

Lets not forget while we bicker that there is a young man who has a broken collarbone who has been overlooked and will miss out on the second leg. I know Scunthorpe will make him as much a part of it as they can but it's not the same as lining up at the tapes. I'm sure all posters will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

Still not biteing

Anyway enough has been said in both camps. Are all these things 'iffy' or just some coincidences none of us will never know. Surfice to say the Scunny boys did well and I'm sure both Richie and Ashley are pleased with themselves to get the better of Garrity and Howarth not many people have claimed those scalps round Belle Vue I think we should all look forward to a good meeting next week whoever wins.
-
Nobody has mentioned the dubious bike not starting on track for all to see to allow Wrathall the better reserve to come in and stop the tactical. I supose he could have just missed the 2 mins but that may have looked a little suspect after a massive interval to attend to Irving.
-
I just think it is synonimous of the young struggling reserves who want to just take the opportunities where they can.I don't think pride comes into it. Hope Ben goes onto do really well and hopefully he wont put himself under too much pressure to perform.
-
I'm aware of that and the technicalities. My point is is it right. You feel it is thank you for taking the time to answer my question
-
Nielson isn't Scunfields No-8 Oliver Greenwood is. Anyway I think we should agree to disagree
-
Had BV had a rider who 'couldnt make it' and put Widman at No.8 with r/r then they would have been in wrong yes but they didn't know how Nielson wouldgoround Belle Vue so they left R/R to fall back on
-
Did I say that ? 'NO' Last night Nielson should have been at No.6 and Smethills at no. 2 as it happened they didnt need that facility but it doesn't make it right.
-
Well at least you admit to talking complete drival. Do you really think that Scunfield are going to plan a NLPOSF with half the team missing Fair play to Worrall's, Birks and Wrathall. I do object to a team having a 4.34 rider at No.8 I wouldn't write the Colts off just yet they have had their backs against the wall before and come out smilling, particularly Mckinna adn Mason. Who ever performs next Thurs will be in the final. It's plain and simple and Justice will be served.
-
I'd be interested in your thoughts for the Scunfield line up tonight is this another 'one off'. You can't take anything away from the management but the question that needs to be asked is is it right? is the no. 8 slot there to be able to fieled a better rider at reserve or to give an inexperienced rider a chance at league racing. Ummmmm it is a poser
-
All the best to the Colts for tonight. C'mon boys you can do this !!!!!!
-
To be fair Mildenhall management have been issuing some quite inflamatory press releases all season. I can see how they would want to come in on their first season and win it all and say there you are that is how it is done but this gives the supporters the wrong role modelling in my opnion. After last years dissapointment the play off's and KO cup final couldnt come soon enough and all that pressure is obviously spilling over and pressure valves are releasing. Simon Lambert will always be an asset to the NL, however long he stays in it, and the NL are lucky he is still prepared to ride in it as some riders do see it as step backwards and just struggle in the PL. He is one of those riders that bring the supporters out and we all know the league needs that.
-
I still cant understand how they can say the Hawks experiment failed when they have only given it one season and as we know speedway fans are creatures of habit and habits take more than a season to break. Unless the 2 clubs couldnt agree on a way forward
-
It has been a little trial and error. Hopefully these little creases can be ironed out next year and it can go onto be a big success story
-
I supose it is because effectively the home meeting being at Sheffield it is the Sheffield Prowlers who are in the semi but they are conscious of upsetting the Scunny fans so they are calling the away meeting the The Saints.
-
I wonder if any of this was in the recommendation from Barker
