That is why I don't agree with Gambling in Speedway. Cricket and Football have been adversely effected by Gambling, fixing of Matches, No Balls etc. Why would Speedway be any different when it comes to Match fixing?.

Yes - you are right - I agree with you. Where it all went wrong, you allude to in the second highlighted part of your Post. For THAT reason SKY's continuing involvement with Speedway is NOT doing the job it was/is supposed to do. That money should have been used to push the Sport, raise it's profile - at least we can agree on something.

Obviously Greg is too much of a Gentleman for your tastes. :sad:

Ivan Mauger. Probably one of the very best Speedway Riders to grace our Tracks in this Country. I admired him greatly, but I didn't really like him (not on a personal level, I didn't know him) but as a Rider there was always something about him that put me off. Perhaps it was his shenanigans at the Tapes which I regarded as not being fair on other Riders. I never felt the same about Mauger as I did Peter Collins or Barry Briggs.

Fair enough Philip - it is good that we can differ in our views in a friendly manner.
