  1. I always admired Edward Jancarz. Of all of the Polish Riders who came over to this Country from Poland - the first name I think of is Eddie Jancarz. A great Rider. It really is sad that his life ended the way that it did. I am sure he could have had a great influence on Polish Speedway.
  2. Or perhaps he genuinely believes that he can help British Riders. I certainly believe he can. Typical of Great Britain this - we moan like hell about not having any decent British Riders. We get one and he is treated like a pariah. Honestly - it beggars belief.
  3. Nowt really. But Hull - like Sunderland live in hope.
  4. Doesn't really matter what anyone thinks - the incontravertible FACT is that he is British whether he rides in or for Great Britain or not.
  5. I can think of two possibilities. Tax reasons as has been mentioned before. or PR reasons - who is going to come out on a cold night to support a Sport that can only attract a few hundred people and a dog. Far better to leave folk in their ignorance and hope that they come along anyway. I am sure that if you published very low numbers - it would probably put people off.
  6. I think that is rubbish. Tai could pass on a lot of experience and information.
  7. Boarded up. Not going back to 'Board Track Racing' again are we?
  8. What a sad end to such an iconic Stadium and an historic Speedway Team.
  9. The first Rider I can remember being killed in a Track accident was Peter Craven in 1963. That was before I had even been to Speedway. My first Meeting being in 1964.
  10. To all those Woffinden detractors out there, and there are a few, would you say that Tai has been well treated by British Speedway or badly treated?
  11. I'll keep my eye out for him hyderd. Great that he's at Belle Vue. :approve:
  12. I would be interested in a literal translation of what I assume to be Saxon norbold. I wish I knew how to do that with my keyboard. Most impressive.
  13. It certainly would. Did they give any reason why Greyhound Racing should be banned?
  14. Sadly - with the amount of time that has elapsed - you may well be right MattK. Obviously I very much hope that you are wrong.
  15. I too started reading the Weekly Speedway Star and Monthly Speedway Post in 1964. I agree with you 100% about the standards of the English Language falling. The Writers you mention were, all of them, top Journalists in their field. Sadly these days it seems that anyone can pen an Article. The Speedway Star is not alone in this either. The daily newspapers are very poor in this regard too. The BBC use of standard English seems to have gone out of the window too. .............................. and they call this - progress.
  16. Very interesting Tsunami. I had no idea about any of that. :approve: Cheers for the info.
  17. Very sad and disappointing. Could someone not speak to the Council regarding a Plaque for the Speedway too. City of Culture and all that. Just an idea....
