The 4 Hours Speedway Meeting....
The White Knight replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Sadly no-one will listen. The Second Half System brought us loads of British Speedway 'Stars' back in the Seventies. We, Great Britain, won everything in sight. They changed the System - and look where we are now. -

I like the Racejacket on your Avatar WG1884. That was always my favourite. Before the Advertisers got their grubby hands on the front of said Racejackets. :nono:

You could be right. I, for one though, sincerely hope that you are wrong.

The Council will probably believe whatever makes them benefit more financially. Or - am I a cynic........ -
It looks incredibly sad for 'Bees' Supporters and the Club itself.

By golly - Donald Trump is starting his wall a long way from Mexico.

Gauranteed a 'Like' is the mention of Anderson's Pies. They are great. I am going to a Meeting at Redcar in a few weeks time to see a Sunderland Team racing. Rather knocks your argument on the head - doesn't it? -
The 4 Hours Speedway Meeting....
The White Knight replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I agree to a point - but - FOUR HOURS is ridiculous. Allowing for the 'extras' at a Testimonial Meeting - I reckon two and a half to three hours with three hours being the absolute limit. You are right when you say that you have to consider the Rider whose Testimonial is being celebrated - but surely you should consider the paying public too. Without them - it wouldn't be much of a Testimonial. -

AAhh right. Thanks very much Paulco. A ridiculous time for a Meeting that. :nono: I reckon, if it was cold, I would have left before the end. -

Where was this SCB? -
Make me No. 6 - I didn't know either. Thanks r&r - I will have to pay more attention. The trouble is my memory isn't very good. If I get up to go to the loo - I've forgotten by the time I get back. No hope for me I'm afraid. I'm not ill or anything - just a very bad memory.

The Days - or - the Crowds BOBBATH? Both for me.

I gathered that from your Username. If they did away with the Starting Gate - where would you go? -
Me too Sid. He had already beaten Mauger.

My best was 254. My Average was: 303 I think I beat you Bruno. I still think Ivan Mauger would have won our Race - don't you? EDIT: Just check my screen again. Not 274 but 254. -
I have a copy of the Programme somewhere in my cupboards too Bruno.

One of the greatest experiences of my life was being at Wembley in 1972 for the World Final. My only disappointment was Briggo's injury. I have been to Cardiff too. It simply doesn't compare. Great occasions at Wembley, sadly now lost to Speedway.

Stuart Robson has fallen foul of the 'anticipation' situation too on a number of occasions. -
Ooops - I'm off to Specsavers. Many apologies Aces51. SORRY.
