  1. Maybe with David Hemsley's friendship with Laurence Rogers and his liking for small 2 truck haulage firms would it not be an idea to bring someone like the Mallets into the operation. It would improve Leicesters image within speedway if nothing else . Mick.
  2. what did he say? something along the lines of 'if they aint doing the job they want to get sent packing'. I know someone who doesn't appear to be able to do their job.. i think he said whilst he's new to the promotion he's been running the club for years.. or something like that He wasn't put on the spot by the question i texted in. that wasn't asked. can you guess what it was?
  3. i'm now beginning to believe in the theory that my 50/50 ticket never gets put in the drum! edited to point out this is my attempt at humour. not a belief i actually hold.
  4. strangely enough, with my new found interest in the LSSC and Lions facebook sites, I just went back to see what other views Lions supporters have added since last night about that radio interview and it would appear i actually must have been dreaming because now i can't find any comments there. what do you mean by this? that they've clearly been censored?
  5. I think glyn agrees with you. I don't think he was putting it as an excuse, just saying what why it happened. that's why Lewis got excluded. Hopefully he's learnt by his mistake! Mick
  6. Glyn said the PA announcer, who happens to be the promoter, did a 10 second countdown before saying Lewis was out for 2 mins in the last heat. With 30 seconds still to go! rider and mechanic were ready but on hearing that started to return to the pits and take his helmet off. By the time the rider and mechanic realised they still had time it was too late and they were excluded for 2 minutes. Mick.
  7. I felt a bit sorry for Doolan. One away and one home meeting in and barbed attacks on riders from the new co-promoter. How is he supposed to try and attract the new sponsorship he was looking for, same goes for any of the other riders for that matter, when the new promoter is talking like that on the radio. I think most potential sponsors will be thinking of their long term returns on investment if they are asked to help out any Leicester rider. unbelievable. Also, i will have to have another listen, but my first thought was that his remarks about Horton's views on Roynon's injury verged on the shameful. I guess he's not fully inducted in the promoters union yet is he tsunami? Mick.
  8. a scary thought indeed if there was another vote on our EL application after that performance i think we might have been more than 1 vote shy!
  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01624fp dip in from around 33 mins in to hear the full car crash. My confidence that it'll all work out ok in the end is draining by the day i'm afraid. sounded a bit cheeky by scunthorpe in the last heat last week.
  10. Weirdly enough they don't Mrcts. They don't say anything.. at all. absolutely nothing. zip. there is not a mention on there. There are some pics of the trackwork on going from a month or so ago and then nothing. I'd almost say it's as though nothing has happened but you know the can of worms that would open.. I thought seanmuffe was actually responding with the answer. It's weird. Surely someone has had some kind of opinion on seeing our newly altered track. Anyways, to change the subject away from the track. Did anyone listen to our new co-promoter on BBC Leicester radio speedway show tonight. Any thoughts. I'm saying nothing but genuinely intersted in whether people are reassured we're in good hands.
  11. I have to say it surprises me that this forum always gets the grief for constantly going on about the newly altered track and that nice new toilet block. You want to see the what everyone has to say about them on the LSSC and Leicester facebook sites, incredible! Mick.
  12. cheers for the like dave, I'm now off to the next thread. I admit defeat to you on this one and whilst those four likes to that post remain from the anti anti's i think i also bow down to you as possibly the king of this BSF . or not, im still undecided, to be honest you're scaring me!
  13. You are a tease. Anyways, i've re-read what you wrote, I applied the balance of probability that a sane man may believe all you have written, then divided it by the plausibility of the vast majority of your assumptions and it came up with '100% wind up' , but then i'd only gone and not factored in the promoters union which then turned the whole damn equation on it's head.. dang!. Mick.
  14. How did Joe get around the apex? There isn't any alteration whatsoever there at all. Did he use the recently imported special super deep fairy dust to float over the apex before plopping back down in the 'Brown stuff on the other side'. Just trying to get a picture in my mind of how his rides looked. Without having been there you'll understand my difficulty in really picturing it.
  15. Its not more than a couple of feet. I was there when it was all pegged out. look at those youtube video of the work happening and the practice session with the alterations off limits. You know, i went to the practice that started a couple of hours after they started work on bend 1 and 2. If you're not sure which one i mean, it was the practice that happened just after the work got finished!.. Genuinely, PM me and tell me if all your posts on this page are tongue in cheek as they are so wide of the mark i find it impossible to tell whether you are winding everyone up or not. and i don't want to be part of it it if you are.. and i'm not joking either! eandom recall.. I also went to the practice that happened after they had done 3 and 4 and sat there for 20 minutes on bend 3 listening to the hilarious conversation between the 2 red flag staff on bend bend 3 discussing whether they had or had not seen a slightly different line appearing on the entry. You had to be there i guess, but trust me, genuinely funny and i don't think anyone was the wiser when i walked away, me included. I'm still not. Stadium is great though. Can't comment on new toilet block though as i'm only mid forties and now and again can still make a whole two hours without the need to go. Worryingly much less so than my thirties though. Mick.
  16. Surely he hung over the sides a bit though. they only took the corners in a couple of feet! this is the kind of post, by an so-called expert, that if it rang as true as you would like us to believe should be getting liked by dozens of people as proof the doubters in the track are wrong. After all we're a right pain in the ass aren't we. Neb, Long eye and someone called luluthetiger though? It's the second post that i'd call a call to arms for the like button, after that suespeedywhatever post, and it fails with me to make any decent argument at all for those favouring the shape. as Mcenroe enjoyed saying 'you cannot be serious'. Mick (who, by the way, is not having a go at the people who have liked the post and who clearly have their own genuine and legitimate view of the track, however wrong!)
  17. Could they sign Karlsson as temp cover for Roynon? I thought for it to be temporary and allow Roynon back the replacement would need to have a lower average?
  18. This probably encapsulates all that is wrong in your year long arguments telling us why the track is actually OK and how people are all in fact just having a go at David Hemsley. You clearly don't understand what is being said and how it relates to a skill sport. Maybe you need to actually read the thread again, actually trying to take in what is being said. But just for your sake, I'll exaggerate my point for full effect, which at worst will at least allow you to try and mock me once more. Lets say, for this forums sake (not trying to start another argument obviously), Lee Geary and Chris Widman found Ivan Mauger like gating skills and due to injuries were called up into the Leicester team. They are quick out the gate but once in front they aren't too fast. As Richard Hall rounds them on bend 3 and 4 would this count as overtaking in an entertaining kind of way or would it be 'the wrong type of overtaking'. Or is there no difference. As i pointed out, don't want to start another argument on here, so i can't tell you which of those two passed the flag first. Mick.
  19. True, re Lewis. Either Popple or Sensicall mentioned it on the mic. said he couldn't afford it.
  20. It's not the overtaking but more the manner of the overtaking... or not even overtaking. I remember going to Somerset and watching a meeting that had almost no overtaking but was very enjoyable to watch nontheless. That was because the chance to overtake was there. You could sense it. That doesn't happen at Leicester. We clearly have different ideas as to what makes a great race. The reason Hall went around both Nielsen and Doolan was clearly because Nielsen was going so slow by the time he was half around the bend and at that point Doolan was trying to shepherd Nielsen but just found himself with nowhere to go but to sit behind him. If that's what you call speedway entertainment then i want to be drinking what you were. Same with the Bjerre pass. It's not all about the overtaking. It's how it's done. How it should be done never happens at Leicester. If you are citing that as evidence of good racing at Leicester then you must have the same contact lens supplier as Mr Hemsley himself. Also, how exactly do speedway riders get around a corner if they are not scrubbing speed off. You might want to read the whole thread and then people are discussing how the riders went on saturday. me included. It's just the complete lack of entertainment is more of an issue than how many points the riders scored or whether we won or not. so your point appears to be this 'why do we all moan about the track as it's is good and always has been' ? do you mind if i reuse your FFS! Mick. (even capatalised it)
