  1. Looking for a texter for speedway updates. Message me, or Sue, on here or the updates site!
  2. It's the trio of Eastbourne fans that look like idiots. Firstly that isn't how you work out averages. It's the points scored divided by the number of heats then multiplied by 4, the number of meetings makes no difference at all (but teaboy, heat 15 does count). The maximum average you can get is 12.00 by winning every single race (12/4*4 or 15/5*4), 12.18 is impossible!! Adz is correct and has seen and knows a lot more about the NL than you trio. If you ask anyone who has actually watched NL recently, we'll all have the same opinion as Adz! Edit: So this is my thoughts on Eastbourne now they're complete. It looks an alright team but will finish about mid table and will be helped by a hefty home track advantage. Mason was barely a heat leader last year and should just about be on this year due to the league being weaker but in no way is he a number 1. I expect his average to drop, especially if he doesn't get to grips with Arlington straight away. And Alex he will drop out of the number 1 jacket but at the end of the day it makes no difference to the team as he will be scoring less than the average you signed him on! Partnering Andrews with him I'm not sure about as he's been around a few years now and never kicked on until he last couple of months of last season but that was after he'd ridden the SBA many many times. It looks possibly the worst 1 and 2 away from home. However the rest of the team is pretty good! I expect Owen to kick on and put 2 points on his average and be number 1. It remains to be seen what BWD does but if he maintains his 5.00 in his first season or improves slightly I think it must be seen as good despite the expectations being put on him. RTD still hasn't hit 5.00 and even if he's more on par with Sarjeant, he's seen the tracks numerous times whereas BWD hasn't. Warwick was an interesting one for me, especially as the first announced, and I suspect if he was signed to give fellow grasstracker Wood some advice. I think he'll increase his average minimally but it doesn't seem like a track that'll suit him, initially at least, but he's been there and done it and add Owen and Andrews who have ridden a couple of years now alongside Connor and Martin Dugard and imo that's all the experience they'll need without having Mason as well. The reserves are again unknowns but Kelsey has ridden enough junior events to show potential and I think he'll be one of the better reserves in the league and may well replace Andrews after the first set of averages in the top 5. But lots of riders progress quickly at this level, and with a low points limit you'll need to add about 6-7 points just to be competitive and that's asking a lot of the 3 new guys, alongisde Owen, to make it a Gold Cup team.
  3. 12 months ago, definitely. He needed the MDL before he went in to the NL imo and that didn't happen. But now he's had a year under his belt, he might struggle with a new track to begin with, but combine that with riding MDL and I saw enough talent in him to know he won't do too badly this season.
  4. Sanderson has the racing mentality and raw pace to do well in the future (he's only 16 I think) but his biggest problem last year was making it to the first bend not in last position, and that sometimes led him to trying too hard and coming off. Having said that I didn't see him after he 'left' the Stags mid season until I saw him in the MDL in October and he was much improved going into he first bend. He's certainly a rider with potential, I just think last year was a little difficult for him being thrown into the deep end and once he learns to gate (which is obviously important) he'll become very good.
  5. As a number 8 you wouldn't need to be at every meeting. You'd only be there if you was replacing someone in the 1 to 7 or are officially declared as the number 8 for that meeting when a team is using R/R, which is why teams often don't do the latter as riders don't want to turn up when they're unlikely to race and teams don't want to pay more expenses.
  6. Yes, in 2012 both Roynon and Richie Worrall rode in both leagues and quite a few did last year with the fast track.
  7. Not really a surprise teaboy given how he's acted before.
  8. Cradley look the strongest but generally the league looks very open this year. Birmingham, Kent, Mildenhall and Rye look good with Buxton and Stoke not far off.
  9. From Brendan: @BDJRacing13: I apologise if anyone takes offence to any language that has been posted on my social media. I will keep the posts clean. 👍 #apologies I won't comment on his language as he's done it himself, but I'm sure the Poole stuff is meant as tongue in cheek. A lot of other riders do it, Kenneth Hansen the other week springs to mind.
  10. Nobody is against Wilson-Dean, Michael, just as SCB has said some people are questioning the rule and therefore a couple of other riders that you have mentioned. What does get tiresome though, is your continued love-in for a guy who's yet to race over here and is yet to prove anything but you seem to think categorically beyond doubt that he's going to take the league by storm.
  11. So what's the real reason for Hall not racing next year? His tweet seems to suggest he was sacked and he wasnt even told about it.
  12. The minimum average limit is 30.00 not 34.00
  13. When Chris Louis left Mildenhall earlier this year, Mildenhall said that he belonged to Chris Louis personally and there was an issue surrounding him and another ride that I can't remember the name of that needed sorting out for him to officially leave but I'm not sure how it ended up. 14. With the upmost of respect to Richard who improved more last year than about the previous 5 put together, he didn't have a lot of competition for that title with Shanes who had a spell out injured apart, they had 1 rider end the season injured, 1 miss a lot of away meetings, 2 retire and then never replaced 1 of them and a couple of mid season signings. Richard will probably improve a little but it's not a league winning signing as some seem to think.
  15. It was a tongue in cheek comment really, hence the tone. I just meant, as you've kind of pointed out, if they were going to drop a rider to improve the team (ie sign Bradley rather than a 3.00 man) I thought there are other riders in the team less likely to improve the team than Brendan.
  16. When SCB asked if Brendan was actually one of the most liked speedway riders, I think you only need to look at his tow witter or Facebook today to see that he is.
  17. That's been asked in several other places and no-one seems to have given a definitive answer yet that I have seen, it's just assumed that his parents or grandparents are British hence making him eligible to ride. Though what has been said is he is a 5.00 as he has ridden in state championships (NZ U21s) but not the NZ national championship, whereas essentially if he hadn't have ridden in that meeting(s) he would have been a 3.00. That's my understanding anyway.
  18. I take back my previous comment and as Penny's link explains, Brendan's been dropped as NZ rider Bradley Wilson-Dean comes in on a 5.00 and not a 3.00 as he has experience of riding in state championships.
  19. Eastbourne realised they have a poor team but Brendan wouldn't have been top of my list to let go!
  20. What a ridiculous statement to make! Are you seriously saying that if Cradley had have moved up this year, like they wanted to, that Buxton would have gone bust? How many years were Buxton running before Dudley even appeared?? They just work with stricter constraints, sometimes that means poorer septets but, like this year by the looks of things, sometimes the continuity provides good looking teams! And another thing that you'll soon come to realise is that the NL is effectively regarded as completely separate to the EL and PL, so where you go blaming the BSPA for late fixtures it's essentially nothing to do with them and all down to Mr Morrish to co-ordinate. Nothing that I'm aware of on Jan 13th and the AGM was held in Decemberin 2013 as well as last year! They have at least 1 riding PL.
  21. It's already been said by either a NL promoter or a NL team manager (you can probably guess the two I'm thinking of, but I can remember which one it was!) that that rule has NOT changed for this year. That was after it was asked if Bowen could DU of which he can't and he's not Rye's number 1.
  22. It has nothing to do with whether he has a PL average or not. The rule about age is just that: a rule about age, regardless of whether averages fit or not.
  23. I assume you haven't seen it mate. All 10 are in the Cup and Stoke are in the preliminary round against Rye and then face a quarter-final against Cradley. If they overcome both of those it's a semi-final against Mildenhall, King's Lynn or Buxton.
  24. But it's the men in charge at individual clubs that have made mistakes with paperwork, along with unlawful guest, loan and doubling-up rules, which is the BSPA, as I understood it.
