I was there and the track wasn't great at all but the meeting overall wasn't as bad as some are making out. Bend 4 was the worst, followed by bend 1 but bend 1 improved considerably after a mid-meeting grade, light watering and a shower. I got the opinion that they didn't want to water it until the shower forecast at 5 and fortunately it came a little earlier at about 4:15. That settled down bend 1. The issue was bend 4 which they never sorted and worryingly didn't try to sort. As the track was generally patchy it was catching even experienced riders out and there was a lot of falls and most were entering bend 4 and bend 1, but as I say bend 1 settled down.
Of the 3 injuries only BWD's on bend 4 were due to the track. Shanes' & Cockle's were purely racing incidents as was Kingston's frightening back straight crash that broke the fence.
The meeting obviously took a long time, too long! But there was never any unnecessary delays and they tried to keep the meeting moving along. The only significant delay was the hurt supporter for 30/40 mins and when we had to wait 10 mins or so for Ayres bike stuck in bend 4.
