Ipswich Witches Vs Sheffield Tigers Pl Thurs Sep 8th
Blackadder replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
From the Sheffield web site:- Dimitri (Berge) is still struggling with a leg injury but he’s going to be OK to ride, and Josh (Bates) is coming off his antibiotics now and is feeling much better. We’re still not sure whether Jason (Garrity) will be fit or not, but we’ll go there and give it our best to try and get a result. Ipswich are a strong side so it’s going to be difficult, but if everyone does their job then we’re capable of a good result. Heat-leader Jason Garrity remains a doubt with a hand injury which caused him to miss Sunday’s trip to Glasgow. -
From the Sheffield web site:- SHEFFIELD Speedway is sad to report the death of senior track staff man Ken Alvey. Ken had been an active member of our behind the scenes team for many years. Said promoter Damien Bates: "Ken was part of the fixtures and fittings at Owlerton, loved his speedway and the Tigers and he'll be sadly missed. He passed away this morning after a short illness and our sympathy and thoughts are with Ken's family." R.I.P. Ken. Condolences to family and friends.

Glasgow Vs Sheffield (pl) 04/09/16
Blackadder replied to damosuzuki's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
From the Sheffield web site:- Sheffield travelled to Scotland without Jason Garrity after he withdrew late on with a hand injury aggravated riding for Elite League club Coventry on Friday. With Josh Bates also struggling with illness, they experienced a meeting to forget and could not prevent a fifth straight away defeat. Team manager Marc Bates conceded high-flying Glasgow just had too much strength on home shale. “Glasgow are a strong side and they were just much better than us on the day,” Bates said. “Obviously Jason was missing, and Dimitri (Berge) has been up most of the night travelling back from his World Longtrack meeting which probably didn’t help. Josh has climbed off his sick bed after having tonsillitis to try and ride for the team but he struggled, and it was just a bad afternoon for us. All the lads have tried their best but it wasn’t good enough today and we were beaten by a better team." -

Sheffield V Rye House Pl 1/9/16 @ 7.30
Blackadder replied to Blackadder's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
All riders were told at the start of the season, not to ride on the infield due to Health & Safety reasons, but I agree that a warning for the first attempt would be a better option. One warning per meeting, to cover everyone, not one per rider. 18.9.2 In Heat 4, the #7, unless certified by the MO (and withdrawn from the meeting) cannot be replaced. If the #7 commits a Start offence (Art 15.3) only the “handicap option is allowed. Team Managers should know this. Great to see team riding from Jason. There were opportunities for others to do the same, but not taken, which was very disappointing. The likes of Grajczonek , Masters and others can turn a narrow defeat in to a narrow victory by team riding, and it always goes down well with the crowd. -

When did Tai Woffinden first sign for Wolverhampton? Just wondering when he would be eligible to submit a request for a Testimonial.
-
Any team changes have to be submitted by August 28th, effective from the 31st. JPB isn't 16 until September 2nd. How would certain other Promoters get around that?

Well don Dan. Excellent performance for a rookie. All of the Monarchs had some good points, but for Sheffield, Josh, Arthur and Nathan didn't do their job. -

Comments from Rosco in the Swindon Advertiser:- “I am disappointed but I have to respect his decision. I just hope he goes on and wins the world championship now and I’ll be wishing him all the very best of luck with that. It is what it is, you can’t force anyone to do anything. It’s a shame but I can’t get down on my hands and knees and beg, he’s made up his mind. It’s nothing to do with the BSPA, it’s Tai’s decision. He just rang me up and said he didn’t want to ride for the Great Britain team next year and that was that.”
