British Youth Championship 2016
Blackadder replied to Alan_Jones's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Not seen any Youth Championship meetings, but I have added the below comment from Rod Colquhoun, in case it gives food for thought. * One exciting new initiative for the 2016 Heffernan Motorsport Winter Series will be the introduction of Gold, Silver and Bronze race jackets to be worn by the top three in the series at each round (Top 3 series progress points). This is to assist members of the crowd to indentify the leading riders more easily on the track. -
Steve Worrall did not get a PL average in 2013, so 2014, 2015 and 2016 should see him get a British reduction, I think.
-
RIP Ashley. The Ashley Jones Memorial Meeting is at Albury on November 21st.
-
With the British reduction, I think Josh Bates is 5.44 and James Sarjeant is 4.90.

Jason Pipe confirmed as TM again at Buxton for 2016, and I hope Jack Lee is TM for Sheffield again in 2016.

Premier League 2016 - Worry
Blackadder replied to bringbackHalifax's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The clock at Sheffield is on the back straight, and was installed initially for rugby league. Because it is not near the start gate and cannot be seen clearly by the riders near or at the tapes, approval to use it has to be obtained from the referee. Not all referees agree to use it. -

It's not the first time either. -
British Tv Rights For Sgp & Swc ?

I cancelled Sky Sports a few months ago, as I think it became a waste of money, so I'm not about to take out a new contract with BT. I enjoy watching cycling and speedway on British Eurosport, but if there's no speedway then so be it. IMO, more viewers will be lost, which won't do the sport any favours. -
SS also says Sheffield are chasing 3 'exciting' heat leaders, one of them being Simon Stead and one being a former Tiger. In that bracket I can only think of Nico Covatti and Josh Auty. Have to assume that it wouldn't be Auty, and that the third one would be Jason Garrity.

Final averages for 2015 from the SCB. Jason Garrity 8.46 Andre Compton 6.61 David Bellego 5.98 Nicolai Klindt 5.89 Josh Bates 5.58 (5.44 with British reduction) Robin Aspegren 4.82 Michele Castagna 3.33 Simon Stead 10.41 Ty Proctor 6.68 Ashley Birks 5.57 Arthur Sissis 3.71 Nathan Greaves 3.00 Taylor Poole 6.05

Nathan Greaves it is at no. 7.
-
RIP Bob. Always a pleasure talking to you. Condolences to his family.

I would think so too. I believe riders get a reduction for the first 3 years after obtaining an average, and I don't remember him getting one in 2013.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
Blackadder replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Anders Thomsen managed to get a 2-day sick note to miss a Peterborough match at Sheffield, thereby avoiding problems before the World Under 21 final, but their fans didn't seem to take umbrage about it. -
Taking a tip from General Melchett----Personally, I'd recommend you get hold of a cocker spaniel, tie the bloke to a chair with a potty on his head, then pop his todger between 2 floury buns and shout "Dinner time Fido".
-
I can't see Peter Karlsson riding for a Thursday track.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?

Needing time to fully recover from 2 serious injuries didn't stop the UKVI from giving Ty Proctor 5 days to sort out his affairs and leave the country. -
The Sheffield Star reports that Andre Compton is hoping to be asked to ride for the Tigers next season.
-
Yes. Josh33 is another example.
-
Just call him Zach28, and we will know who you mean.
-
No it isn't. Referees stay until all programmed heats have been run. After that, the meeting is declared closed and the track can then run free practice for as long as they want, provided the meeting hasn't been abandoned.

In this week's SS, Rohan Tungate says he wants to go EL next year, but may consider PL as well, but not with Ipswich. Good news for some.
