  1. As I said, the date is meant to be for an away fixture, not home. It's a mistake.
  2. To match the rule laid out in Peterboroughgate.
  3. The date is meant to be reserved for an away fixture, not home, and yes, Sheffield are getting the PLRC again, in early September.
  4. This week's SS reports that Ashley Birks has retired and is not just taking a year out.
  5. I hope that the showers at Berwick can cope.
  6. The Clerk of the Course or the Start Marshall have a much better chance of checking that goggles, gloves etc are being worn. The Referee would find it very difficult to verify from the box that goggles are being worn.
  7. Whatever the regulations are, they need to be enforced, which is not always the case. I would have thought that the rider's insurance would be invalid if he did ride whilst being signed off. If a rider suffers a head injury, and the track medic signs him off for a specified number of days, the referee and the rider's Team Manager need to be informed in writing. The referee then informs the SCB, who inform all referees of the details, and also the rider's governing body if he is not riding under the ACU. I remember a case a couple of years ago, where a rider had been signed off for 7 days, but he rode again after 6 days, having been declared fit by his GP.
  8. In the SS, Ged is saying it might be February before the team is complete. He is waiting to see what the UK and Poland fixture lists are.
  9. I agree. It won't take much for UKVI to change the qualifying criteria. Riders need to be aware.
  10. Opinions seem to suggest they were looking at Howarth at 6.98 and Berge at 4.14. Proctor is 6.68, so would fit.
  11. Campton didn't ride in the Victoria meeting. Top 4 were Proctor, Waters, Jordan Stewart and Sedgmen.
  12. Victoria State final - Proctor, Waters, Jordan Stewart, Sedgmen. Ty lucky to qualify for final, after Fricke excluded for crossing the white line when they met.
  13. According to the Leicester Mercury, a lot of damage has been caused by vandals recently. Volunteers required to help sort out all of the problems. Not good news.
  14. It is the Victoria State that are not allowing outsiders.I understand that the Promotion don't want the hassle of waiting to see if Ty qualifies and all of the paperwork that comes with applying for a visa if he is successful, but IMO, in his case it would be worth it.
  15. The Victoria Solo Speedway State Meeting is being held at Mildura on Saturday night, 5th December. A top 4 finish gets a visa for the UK. Apart from Ty Proctor, the only other riders in the field with overseas experience are Max Fricke and Justin Sedgmen, so it should be relatively easy for Ty to finish in the top 4. I would have thought it worth waiting for, as a fully fit Ty Proctor would be a good asset for the team.
  16. From the Sheffield Star:- Sheffield Tigers are set to head into Europe to complete their team building for the 2016 season. Club bosses have held talks to agree on their final two riders having already unveiled five previous signings - and they are aware some fans are hungry for more substantial news. Now Tigers are set to sign at least one rider from the European Union – with the possibility of another talented British ace joining up. Co-promoter Damien Bates said: “We are really pleased with the way the team is shaping up. “We have had a meeting to decide on which way forward from here. “We understand fans are keen to get some news but we have to have everything in place before we can press the button on signings” he said. “I’m pleased with the progress we are making in talking to riders and hopefully before Christmas we can name the full team, but I can’t promise that. “We’ve got a very strong British base in the side, in fact all five signings so far are British, but I admit we may have to cast our net further afield for one of the final signings and we know the man we want. “We will be working hard to bring that to a conclusion in the near future. It’s an exciting time and the season is still over three months away!” Tigers have so revealed Simon Stead, Jason Garrity, Richard Hall, Josh Bates and Nathan Greaves and fans on social media and at supporter gatherings have given them the thumbs-up. But Bates said: “It’s great the consensus amongst fans has been positive, but the next and final two signings will be every bit as important and we cannot afford to mess it up! “Every signing is vital and we are determined to get it right. Then we need a good piece of fortune to avoid injuries, don’t even get me started on last season!”
  17. From Rod Colquhoun:- Kiwi young gun Bradley Wilson Dean will be unveiled as a major signing for a UK Premier League club in the near future (His old man made me promise not to name the club!). Brad destroyed the opposition in the National League this year and we will find just how good he is in 2016.
  18. According to the Edinburgh Evening News, Monarchs are close to agreeing a deal with Sam Masters.
  19. From Rod Colquhoun:- Such is the drama surrounding the visa issue that the Victorian Speedway Sub Committee has banned interstate and foreign riders from taking part in their title (to be held at Mildura).
