  1. Good to see Jason at the stadium again, although with his right wrist still strapped up. Looks like things could be back to normal.
  2. From the Sheffield web site:- It is all systems go at Owlerton ahead of tonights huge Premier League Play-Off Semi-Final first leg against Glasgow. The track is in good condition and with the weather holding up the meeting is definitely set to go ahead. The meeting will get underway at 7.30pm as the Window Centre Tigers chase a spot in the Premier League Grand Final. Teams added:- SHEFFIELD: Ricky Wells, Josh Auty, Josh Bates, Simon Stead R/R, Kyle Howarth, Arthur Sissis, Nathan Greaves. GLASGOW: Richie Worrall, Nike Lunna, Aaron Summers, Rene Bach, Richard Lawson, Fernando Garcia, Danny Ayres.
  3. In last week's SS:- Interviews for new Referees to take place on Friday March 3rd 2017 at the Marriott Hotel, Liverpool, during the Referees' annual meeting weekend. Anyone interested should send their CV to info@scbgb.co.uk.
  4. The 2 Guests will be for Jason and Simon, with RR for Dimitri.
  5. If the reason wasn't obvious, maybe it was something that was said. Josh punched the pits wall at Leicester once, because he was verbally belittled by an opponent.(The wall won).
  6. Vic Lonsdale. What a character. Controversy on 2 wheels and so entertaining to watch. He once drove to Nuneaton, looking for the Station Road stadium, only to discover that he should have been in Long Eaton.
  7. I agree, but the Promotion tend to avoid riders who need a visa.
  8. Hope Peter gets his application for a testimonial to the BSPA before the one with the daft ears does. Congratulations Peter on a superb career in Speedway.
  9. Dimitri Berge from 4.14 to 6.91 is a very good achievement, and he took the European Under 21 title.
  10. Just for Sheffield fans, the next fixtures are the 10th at Sheffield and the 13th at Glasgow. Will pigs be seen flying again?
  11. Flying bacon sandwiches tomorrow. Well done Tigers Select, especially Kyle. Hope he is back next year.
  12. SHEFFIELD: Ricky Wells, Robert Branford, Lewis Kerr, Simon Stead R/R, Kyle Howarth, Arthur Sissis, Nathan Greaves.
  13. IMO, the first contract signed for 2017 should be for a load of new shale. I don't understand why the tractors go around so much, when there is hardly anything to grade.
  14. Facu won a meeting in Argentina a few weeks ago.
  15. SHEFFIELD: Ricky Wells, Jason Garrity R/R, Kyle Howarth, Josh Bates, Dimitri Berge, Arthur Sissis, Nathan Greaves, Jack Parkinson-Blackburn (No.8). NEWCASTLE: Steve Worrall, Victor Palovaara, Matej Kus, Ludvig Lindgren, Robert Lambert, Ashley Morris, Danny Phillips.
  16. Technically, a rider is disqualified only from a heat, for whatever reason. If a rider is excluded, it means that he cannot ride again in the meeting.
  17. In the PL, the No. 7 is protected in Heat 4, so Nathan could not be replaced.
  18. Good point. The likes of Chris Harris, Ty Proctor, Richard Hall etc have not been as consistently entertaining since the new silencers were introduced, IMO. The bikes, tyres and track surfaces are no longer compatible with each other, and far too much money is going to the engine tuners.
  19. Tigers have announced they will host the first leg of the play-offs with Newcastle on Thursday September 29 with the return on Tyneside the following Sunday, October 2. SHEFFIELD: Richard Lawson, Jason Garrity R/R, Kyle Howarth, Josh Bates, Dimitri Berge, Arthur Sissis, Nathan Greaves. SOMERSET: Josh Grajczonek, Jake Allen R/R, Charles Wright, Paul Starke, Rohan Tungate, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Tom Bacon.
  20. If the Referee saw the incident, action has to be taken. The opposing Team Manager will more than likely be on the phone otherwise. There was also a delay in heat 4, when Rye House tried to do a reserve switch for their no. 6 to replace no. 7, which is not allowed in the PL.
  21. When the current Promotion took over, they spent a lot of time and money on trying to get the track back in to a good state, but it does seem to have deteriorated back to what it had become. You barely get your shoes mucky when walking on it these days.
