  1. I doubt that the numbers would come below the limit, but just to keep the spirit going from the 1st leg, wouldn't it be nice for Sheffield to redeclare, which they can do for injured riders, and bring back Simon Stead and Ashley Birks. Both would have a dodgy kebab on the night before the 2nd leg, so they could then use Danny King as guest, use R/R and have Josh Bates at reserve!!
  2. If the Sicknote was obtained under false pretences, then a Facility would not be permitted. The reason for the discussion between officials before the meeting was because Peterborough had not thought to inform the Referee or the MC earlier in the day of the programme change. Sheffield wanted to lodge a protest, but were advised they couldn't go against a Doctor's Sicknote. Peterborough threatened to withdraw for some reason, but were threatened with a fine if they did so, so didn't. When Ty Proctor was deported, the UKVI insisted on seeing a copy of his departure documentation, so it should be reasonably easy for the SCB to request copies of Mr Thomsen's original travel details, the cancellation documents and his revised details, if they so choose. Anyway, congratulations to Ben Barker for an immaculate 6 ride maximum, and to the Cheetahs on getting a result.
  3. You can't afford to dither about arranging fixtures at this time of year. To Sheffield's credit, they got their home match sorted without delay. There was nothing stopping Peterborough doing the same.
  4. Why are they going after the league cup final on 27/09, when the SGP isn't until 24/10, so signing in on 23/10?Will Edinburgh get a facility for all of that time? Will they also get a facility for any fixtures they may have between say 27/10 and 31/10, as I assume that apart from Erik Riss, they won't be returning to the UK this year?
  5. Thanks. Pointless using them in an SFL team then, if they are knocking off early.
  6. Thanks. I just checked on the SGP site, and it says that the Wild Card, 2 Reserves and the Referee are all TBC.
  7. I can see this being the start of a farcical end to the season. Sheffield v Peterborough is the only PL Play off fixture on the BSPA list at the moment. When is the return leg scheduled? When will the teams be known for the following set of fixtures? Are we then to expect further delays due to rider unavailability and poor weather? It is not rocket science for the BSPA to set dates for the Play offs. The EL have managed it. The current situation is damaging the sport's credibility yet again.
  8. Sheffield have already had 2 blank Thursdays; another one is just not on. Fixture is now showing on the BSPA list.
  9. 18.6.4 If a Rider has only an EL Established MA from the previous season, which must not exceed 6.00, then a conversion is necessary; the EL MA is multiplied by 1.4.
  10. The H&S people also said that there was to be no parking against the back wall facing the entrance to the pits, which is where riders' vans have been parking for years, and no reason given for their decision.
  11. I don't know the facts but I would assume it was because the Pits were so full, they had to create a gazebo extension just outside, to cater for all of the bikes.
  12. It was reported as a possibility in the SS a few weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything else about it since.
  13. I can only see 1 of the 4 Sheffield riders winning this - Garrity, Cook, Kurtz or Josh33.
  14. 16.3.4 No Team changes will be allowed after 28th August with the effective date being 31st August, except for Riders returning to the Team after injury.
  15. IMO, conscription and corporal punishment would benefit the country in the long term, but it will never happen.
  16. Redcar are using 3 Workington riders as guests in Ricky Wells, Kenneth Hansen and Matthew Wethers, whilst Richard Lawson guests at No.1 for the visitors with Zach Wajtknecht continuing at reserve.
  17. Incident Reports are not produced at FIM meetings, and I don't know if any other country has them, but the SCB has the information to hand for the UK.
  18. Sometime late last season, I posted that there were, from memory, 26 EL/PL riders whose season had ended early due to injuries. I have just had a quick look for this season, and I make it about 20 riders who have finished already, and about 19 others who have missed more than 2 or 3 weeks due to injury. That is roughly 1 from each category per team. It would be nice to know if the SCB ever do season by season analysis of data produced by Incident Reports.
  19. Green Sheet averages from 1st September. 1 Simon Stead 10.41 2 Jason Garrity 8.21 3 David Bellego 6.06 4 Nicolai Klindt 6.00 5 Josh Bates 5.15 6 Michele Castagna Ass 5.00 7 Arthur Sissis 3.71 Total 44.54 Outgoing. Tyron Proctor 6.68 Ashley Birks 5.57 Andre Compton 6.70
  20. The first daft image that came in to my head after reading of Josh Bates' immature action, was of Nicki Pedersen phoning the Referee to complain that another rider had been a bit rough on him.
  21. SHEFFIELD will look to extend their unbeaten home record to 11 meetings as they welcome in-form Edinburgh to Owlerton on Thursday (7.30). Jack Lee’s side will hand a Premier League debut to British youngster Zach Wajtknecht as a guest for injured reserve Arthur Sissis. Supporters will also get to enjoy an extra six heats of racing as the club host a Midland Development League clash between Scunthorpe and Buxton immediately after the meeting. SHEFFIELD: Brady Kurtz, Paco Castagna, David Bellego, Nicolai Klindt, Jason Garrity, Zach Wajtknecht, Josh Bates. EDINBURGH: Craig Cook, Justin Sedgman, Kevin Wolbert, Erik Riss, Sam Masters R/R, Max Clegg, Robert Branford.
