Torun GP Saturday 28th September
tyler42 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Who’s in charge of the track prep? Nice dry day and the track looks rubbish. -
Sam McGurk scored 3+1 tonight in the third division. I wouldn’t hold out much hope of him scoring a point against Poole. Out of interest, has he beaten anyone fair and square this season?. The only time I've seen him beat anyone is Celina! other than her he looks so far off the pace. It can’t be good for him nor the team.

Ipswich vs Leicester play off Semi-final 9th Sept
tyler42 replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The main issue for me, was she showed no consideration for the track conditions. Any competent ref would have, and as such given the riders the benefit of doubt. Then to compound things, she decided, Max Frick who lost control in heat thirteen was not the cause of the stoppage! After such a incompetent performance, she should be disqualified from holding a referees licence ever again. Jim Lawrence (SCB) should not go unpunished for any of this either, for it would have been him allocating her the match in the first place! -
Ipswich vs Leicester play off Semi-final 9th Sept
tyler42 replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely who ever gave her the meeting should be questioned. Who decides what meetings refs are given? She should never be allowed to referee a speedway meeting again. Anyone ref half sensible would have taken track conditions into account regarding 1st bend incidents. The only decision she made against Leicester was a shoe in, yet she took ages make it. Frick was out of control when he came out of the gate in heat 13, but she obviously did not agree and gave him the benefit of doubt.. No such luxury afforded to Rew in his 1st race! She showed so much incompetence, You do have to consider if there was any match fixing going on! -

Unfortunately the ref is a disgrace, It might have been 1st bend bunching, but she did do that in an earlier heat. Will there be a review of her performance by the authorities ? She has shown she's not got much idea and the conditions of the track. -

Why didn’t Kings Lynn settle for a 3-3 in heat 13? -
Wroclaw GP Saturday 31st August
tyler42 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Tatum, no idea. Why did he think the ref stoped the race? For a ex rider, he's clueless -
Surely If he qualifies, he has as much right as any other rider. There has been plenty of riders over the years who haven’t been good enough, but have qualified. Or should it be a closed shop? with the likes of Woffinden just keep getting wildcards?

Plymouth Gladiators vs Poole Pirates 24th Aug
tyler42 replied to lbw's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Poole did make hard work of it tonight. They did not take the lead until heat 12. I don’t think Poole will get away with that type of performance in the play offs. Paul Stark had a blinder at reserve and your heat leaders got you over the line, albeit not a strong Plymouth side. Hagon has to find his early season form, if not It will be hard to carry a rider at number 2 in the play off's. Will Thomsen still be reserve when the play off's commence? -
This is his 4th season in the top flight. He must be the longest RS on record! Has he ever moved up into the main body of the team either with Wolves or Brum?

Speedway of Nations 2024
tyler42 replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
6 gate ones and a gate 4. You would expect him to score well. Bewley took the less favourable gates all night. when he was off gate four (the one time he was on the favoured gate) he won at ease. When the chips were down, Once again Lambert Gate one. Leaving Bewley to have to come from behind to beat the Aussies. So all those saying What a hero Lambert was ( Yes he rode superb) but how would have faired on the less favourable gates? a different story perhaps? and drop Bewley after two rides -

I do wonder reading your post's and your fascination with the Russian if you’re are a patient in a mental asylum. Did you see Zmarzliks crash in mid-week? A lot riders if they were leading the World Championship would have decided to stay at home and have a rest. If I remember righty Laguta Pulled out and missed meetings with sprained ankle !! Such a hard man!! -

And yet after making progress they still replaced him in heat eight. He would have been off of gate one, where I think he would have had a good chance of beating Connor Coles. He had already beat his opposite number in heat two..Hagon was a bit up and down to be fair. So it would have been nice to see Max get his full programmed rides. -
Yes, he's being talked about in a big way. I seem to remember a local lad to you winning the youth 125cc world championship twice!! "Multi British Youth Grass Track Champion Kyle Bickley retained his World 125cc crown after scoring a 15-point maximum in the Czech Republic on Saturday following winning the same event last year in Germany." but unfortunately as soon as he progressed from the conference league, "where he was very good" to the 2nd division he struggled big time and eventually retired at a very early age. So I would say being a good youth rider is not a guarantee of turning out world class, but I hope the young English rider William Cairns is as good as they say, because we do need another superstar to be coming through .

Unfortunately when the grass track production line dried up, so did a lot of the talent. If you look at the amount of star quality riders who came from Grass Track back in the 80s and 90s the list goes on and on. Now we are in the situation where if you take away the British GP riders, Brennan Is the only young up and coming rider who looks like he might make the grade in the top flight league in Poland and the GPs. We keep being told we have a great prospects coming up through the youth scene yes Tom Brennan came through that system and young Flint has done well to qualify for SGP2, but he's still only a rising star in the top league, when he should be kicking on by now! The days of Doncaster, Cross, Tatum, Wigg, Havlock, Screen etc have long gone!

Oxford Vs Workington June 26 2024
tyler42 replied to Anzum's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It was aways the promoter's wishes to get both top leagues as close in standard as possible. To an extent they achieved this by the doubling up system. You only have to look at last night’s meeting at Ipswich. Both Nicholls and Harris scoring very well, but in their next championship meeting they will be riding against some of the youngsters we have been discussing! So once again this has to be down to the promoters who have allowed this to happened? The pro arguments for doubling up is due to lack of riders. But who created this dilemma? Once again the promoters, by weakening the top league, it would make their running costs cheaper. I think they achieved this, but to the detriment of the sport at what costs! Last year saw the return of good quality riders. i.e Woffenden, Holder, Sayfutdinov to name but a few and this season the league has been bolstered by a whole batch of top class riders. So with that in mind the doubling up system shows it's flaws. Take last night’s meeting for an example. Nicholls, King, Ellis, Harris and Wright should be plying there trade in the top flight only. They shouldn’t be anywhere near the Championship league, but the promoters created this and now we have the silly sight of seeing Harris and co riding against, Second strings riders who were reserves last season and second string riders who are now heat leaders, add in the development league riders! Money for old rope as the saying goes for the likes of the riders I mentioned. -
Oxford Vs Workington June 26 2024
tyler42 replied to Anzum's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes they are very weak, but it was the management committee who decided to weaken the league to such an extent, that all clubs have got Development league riders in their teams this season . Sam McGurk is not the only rider struggling. Poole have struggled for a No7. Trigger up until last week hadn’t pulled up too many trees. Berwick's Young reserve is struggling, Edinburgh 's reserves are up and down. The young lad at Glasgow looks out of his depth. In all truth a lot of these boys should not be riding in the championship, all it's doing is draining them of there confidence. Nine times out of ten they only score points off of each other or if a 1-5 rider has an e/f or falls! The management committee voted for it, no doubt to save money. So it is them and not the young lads, fans should be moaning at.
