There in lies a problem, if you dont read a newspaper you dont see the adverts, if you go online how much notice do you take of an advert that is blocking your route to your required destination. There are lots of AD blocker programmes in use out there, so where do you go tthjese days for economic and effective advertising? The side of a local bus? Flyers through letter boxes tend to go straight in the bin. A few years ago I was involved in an event where we put 15,000 money off vouchers for reduced price entrance, we got 3, yes 3 presented at the entrance gates. Where is it economisally viable to advertise these days?

Play Offs Should They Be Scrapped.?

IF the premier and Elite were to combine, I believe there are 5 or 6 PL promotions who would either close immediately or drop to the National League before closing a season or two later. A combined league has to mean increased costs over the current PL budget. -
BSPA could implement National newspaper advertising of matches, not sure if newspapers still arrange their advertising the way they uaes to, they want a certain sum per page, if they manage to sell half the page for a sum close to the full page requirement you could buy the other half page for a peanut and a note tghat folded hence St Austell when it restarted at the Moto Parc having half page adverts in the Daily Mirror The advertising could be financed by reducing rror.Modern day promotions could all do with reading the Ian Thomas book 'Wheels and Deals'The advertising money could come from reducing BSPA Office costs, I am told one of the office staff members is on 50k but have you tried ringing the office after 330

There is no facility for anybody riding in The Golden Helmet its just a prestgious OPen meeting held every year and related events take place on Saturday and Sunday Back in 2002 Trelawny were forced to ride a PL match against ..............................Edinburgh who refused to ride on a Tuesday because they had a swede, we told them Cornwall has lots of swedes in the fields happily growing awayt, they could have one of them. It so happened the Sunday insisted on was an international at Poole and we had to put out a team of 'Rabbits' because we couldnt get good guests. Trelawny always lost money on Sunday matches so we got stuffed in every direction

Where Was Cookie Today?

it seems cook goes to pieces in big or FIM meetinmgs cf john louis -
I believe the issue of Piper is a little more complicated, if he is saying he is unfit to ride for his contracted speedway team he has to produce a medical certificate that says he is unfir and cant ride. In order to ride in an FIM event he has to sign a document that declares him fit to ride, the two are mutually exclusive. Having declared himself unfir to ride, then signing an FIM form to say he IS fit could result in heavyweight disciplinary charges

The information i was given from a reliable source id that after 10 years the trustees of Colins will, in view of the fact that a new track in the Exeter area was unlikely took the decision to divide the money between the trustees/legatees and that was done in March or April -

phlipp have you actually come to plymouth to see the racing, its proper spheres out racing not half lap between riders as County Ground often was. The racing is close and many changes between riders virtually every lap, come and take a look, Plymouth has fans who comr from Berwick, Coventry and Halifax on a regular basis, so come down the 38 and give it a try. -

Plymouth gates are about 500 not 1000. Another problem at Haldon was ownership changed from local to the Jockey Club part way through the project and they requires that a brick stand incorporating toilets/showers catering area etc be built before it could open, however they also requires that they could use the facilities to support a caravan park/camping ground that they proposed to open rent free That wwas the straw that broke the camels back as far as speedway at Haldon was concerned I was watching one of those we want to move to Devon and buy a house programme afew weeks ago, in it there was an aerial shot of a Rgby club in Exmouth and there it was, an oval track all the way around the rugby pitch. I tried e mailing details to Rob Doran but havent heard anything from him -
