  1. Dont put your life savings on it, it is in his hands people don't get to his level by just having talent and nothing else.He has made a few mistakes so what, i believe he will be a world champion he will of learned alot from this year.
  2. You cannot be serious? insanity might be creeping in.!
  3. I like Cook alot and i am glad he was upset at being dropped for England unjust in my opinion. It showed he cared lets be honest he has been outstanding this year has made great progress and i hope i can support him for England for years to come looking forward to seeing him at Swindon on Thursday.
  4. I would prefer this to live racing when central covered it they still managed most times to still show 13 heats.Even now unless it is a meeting that i really want to see i often watch later anyway.
  5. Great post Moxey spot on with everything,i go to Swindon everyweek and since 1969 has given me so much enjoyment. But when i look around what you have said is so true it is now looking like a tired old Abbey stadium. It has not changed one bit a lick of paint here and there no investment whatsoever great track still though and we won't mention the legendary bogs.!!
  6. Good point ER this guy is a rider who supporters love, fully committed races full on.He is exciting to watch and has made good progress this year also showing he can compete at EL level.
  7. Good post and i am all for British kids getting chances but this is a difficult one.I can remember the likes of Surman S Collins Fortune Keats Eccles being thrown in and they struggled bigtime.Theyre confidence ended being shot and most quickly were lost to the sport.I hope they're is away for our lads to get chances they're are a few NL lads who have been on the pace at PL level.Greenwood Jacobs,Rose,Bates i would say maybe Lambert is the only lad who could compete at EL level and are they're many NL riders ? who could cut it in the PL full time.? a really difficult decision to have to make.
  8. Lebedev does look a prospect quick i thought Woffinden was very lucky to stay in there race. Can't remember who it was but some forum member said he Lebedev was a waste of space. A nice tidy style hopefully on his own aquipment he can come back again for the Lynn in the future.
  9. How good was Jensen Scunny fans? the Danes seem to have a good blend of prospects right now.Bech i rate highly it has not been a great year for him but he has quality how did Bech do in heat 1and later races with Klindt and Auty?.Good win for Scunny really pleased for Douglas has picked up and has a great longterm future.
  10. He is a decent rider minimum a full time PL rider in the future very soon i believe. He was very unlucky at Scunny, but has had guest bookings and done well and regrouped and fair play to the lad.
  11. Good post i have seen Kus at his best and he can be decent, did he get injured? and then say he got frightened i might be wrong. When he moves and will be on a favourable average who is to say he won't get his confidence back and improve greatly.
  12. I think that is why the old British league was so revered worldwide, even now to a certain extent different tests thats why Eastbourne and Lakeside are healthy for the league. Both of those tracks are not my favourites but they have a place variation you need skill to ride them to ride them you improve as a rider.Years ago you could ride Exeter(mon. Leicester( tues Poole(wed. Sheffield( thurs. Hackney( Frid. Hyde rd(sat. What a test that was for a rider all different sorts of tests i always thought they're were homer tracks i have now changed my mind i believe most of it is mentality and desire.
  13. Some really good points and you are spot on about Exeter, i knew a rider who hated the place and it had a big steel fence which looked frightening. He probably only rode there about 5 or 6 times in his career and he averaged about 2 there alot of that was because he was mentally beaten before he had started.I don't think it is as revelent now but riders then might say go on a northern tour and ride certain tracks only once in a season.Where as now riders maybe ride somewhere 3 times a year register there gearings set ups (ect)and improve on there next visit to that track.Certainly the smaller tracks are harder to ride Crayford i heard was difficult to ride when i first started going Oxford i think? was the smallest track this was before Eastbourne entered the division 1 fray.Home track advantage is most of it just a MENTAL thing confidence ability?i think so.If somebody was used to riding the say fast natured track like Owlerton obviously it would be a challenge to ride Eastbourne vice versa again with Eastbourne riders finding it hard riding Sheffield.
  14. I don't really see why he is riding here at all to be honest, glad he is of course but what is he learning. Will he go full time EL? with Lynn it will be interesting to see what he does will his education have a massive bearing on his decision.?
  15. Great post SCB really interesting, without your stats in your opinion do you think Eastbourne and Lakeside are big homer tracks?.Halifax and Exeter i thought had big home track advantages and often they had quite weak teams. I think the visitors riders sometimes struggled there because often riders would only visit once a year.
  16. Great race that Screeny at his best, the ones that stick out in my mind are 1./at Sheffield England v Sweden 1973.Test match Michanek,T Jansson,Collins, E.Boocock 2./ 1976 world final Collins pass of Simmo. 3./ Ray Wilson holding off the unlucky Ashby in the 1975 British Final run off for a place at Wembley there are endless others 'TKdandy' which is why most of us still keep going to our great sport.
  17. I never new they rode at the old Millwall football ground Gustix? i knew Jack Milne had rode for them and the great Tom Farndon was killed in 1935 but that's it really was so surprised that there last year was as late as 1963.
  18. I don't know if they ever rode before 'gustix? i have some old programmes and books and they rode New Cross in 1960 and 1961. In 1960 Swindon won the home league meeting 47-43 and lost away 33-55 they also rode twice in the Brittannia Shield with Swindon winning at home 62-28 and winning away 55-35.In 1961 the Robins won at home 54-24 and lost away 33-44 all in the old National league.
  19. You are both the same in my book, his last comment about Oldies says it all for me what he is about. And are you a real Swindon fan? because all the ones i know are great people you must be the odd one out . Be serious for a minute if you can, what made you make that comment about oldies p.... themselves.?Was it because you wanted a reaction want attention what sort of mentality have you to even dream of saying that baffling.
  20. Do i give a toss what you say,? this is coming from a bloke who says all oldies Pi.. there selves well done a pretty constructive view.
  21. Witcher you generally get a couple come out the woodwork talent wise which none of us would of predicted The odd few that we overrate that falls by the wayside i don't know if it is me but are these top guys now to to busy to be characters.?Off from one meeting on to another pretty hectic now i believe we are blessed with quite some new talent different nationalities Millik had impressed me times look exciting at WC level.
  22. I said that a few years ago and how wrong i was, the talent available now is outstanding the series is in good hands.I have never agreed with the way the series has disrupted the leagues but as a product the GPseries looks pretty strong.
  23. No not really i find you rude more than anything,i respect your point of view but on most topics don't like your tone.
  24. Right funny coming from you who lets be honest are more stubborn in his views than most. The Lee issue i feel strongly about because (ie) none of us know him and also don't know the full circumstances.Maybe we will find out in time ,but i find it amazing that so many people cant find it in there heart to FORGIVE.I have never ever said the offence was right but it is not right just to give up on someone and certainly not to sit there as judge and jury.
