As much as i enjoy speedway now, i will be shot down i exspect but theyre is no doubt in my mind speedway in yesteryear it was far superior to todays racing i watch.Dont get me wrong, the GP series is in great shape ( i am not a big supporter) but credit where it is due it is in a good place.League racing no comparison in my book the league racing say from 1970/88 far superior in my view.The annoying thing is the product is there i believe but i don't no if other elder supporters feel the same i have given up on the sport ever changing it won't ever happen not in my lifetime.I know years ago i did see alot of dross, it was not all great racing but now at times i can't wait for heat 15 to finish that's one thing i never felt from the first time i went with my uncle in 1969.

A very good rider , very sad news indeed i first saw Viktor i think in 1974/75? for the Russian touring team.Then in the the 1975 Wembley final he all but ended Michanek title hopes by beating him and relegated him to a first ride third place RIP- Victor.

Behind all those you named, and up there with T.Jansson ( both could of even held higher rank) Per was an exceptional rider i hope he is keeping well and wish him all the best.

I enjoyed the semi final playoffs, but for me it should be on different evenings.If it was it would be even more special,as it was god the meetings dragged on bigtime.Also having the other meeting on the big screen did my head in bloody racket commententry distorted not the best is this the way to go maybe the majority like it i don't know.?

I think people have realised this for a longtime, but the sport will have to regroup and try to move on.Out of the group you named Ward would be the only one i would miss ( Greg is different he has said that Britain would not be on his full time agenda).As for Sky if they go so what the sport has come through harder times in the past so i would not shed a tear if they disappeared.

Bloody hell got something right Telboy! I loved going to Hackney a great night out.Thommo (legend) loved him Banger and Lovaas( classy) i also enjoyed watching the late Toni Kasper a really talented rider.

Was it right Telboy, ! god old Father Time catching up with me 1987 was that Mark,s first year as a full time hawk.? I went around that time once with Malc Holloway i am sure that was when Andy Galvin was going well i think Johannssen/Danno might of rode.?

Great race two great proffesionals riding against each other when i first see Mark ride i think he rode at the Wick at reserve with John TItman who was still decent.I never thought Mark would achieve what he did but over the years god he was exciting to watch he put bums on seats.A Exciting rider plus he was great in the media a nice person that for me a recipe for success but at the end of the day he had the talent.Sorry Rob i ent got the download but like you would love it.!

Douglas really has made alot of progress, a sticky start to his british career he has stuck at it and the promotion have been great.They believed in him bigtime supported him and before this season i had followed his career a nice riding style i thought he would average between 5.80 to six points a meeting.Not that far off nice to see Auty round the season in great style how did he do tonight gate (or not) still at his best very good indeed.

I think it is and i have been watching EL racing, British league from the first day i ever witnessed a meeting.Firstly without the GP stars they're ent much difference in the standard if anything more predictable.Also the PL has a better variation of tracks and usually you get the same 1to 7 on a regular basis which to me is the most important thing.I can see what you are saying that you can see crap racing whatever level but the EL is in my opinion in deep trouble needs a total revamp.

No totally wrong, i watch EL every week and the premier league is a better product.!

Auty as you said Lewis really is a decent rider i have followed his career since the under15s.Is there many riders who have so many from the back wins great value exciting certainly.For me he has been disappointing with consistency but he will be ok and I believe he will be get things right also he will have a massive bearing on whether Birmingham have a chance of winning the EL final.

Malc the Wellie Holloway my favourite rider, i supported for the whole of his career he fell off quite alot.( He demolished the flower beds)But again a nice tidy style skilfull he give me some great speedway memories rode in the Conference league in his late forties still good anough to reach a conference final great speedway man god bless him.!

Funny that Iris, didnt Martin get that reputation nicknamed Crash when he first started out 61/63 in scratch events.?You would think it was a different bloke always in control a great style great team man and person and a great rider.

What i love about the PL is that most of us can predict what the 1/7 of the line ups are going to be.Ok Orion will have a few examples that says this is not so but generally this is not the case.On the other hand the EL well where do you start endless guests,R/R, double /uppers missing,this year has been terrible for this so big changes have to be made.But can the EL and PL work together? i hope so for the good of the sport we shall wait and see.I would like to see one big league maybe up to 16 teams teams all living within a budget and go from there.

You back the new rule yet you say they are both Micky mouse? Baffling i have also said to you that the old rule had its flaws the play offs i am not keen on but are a success so they are here to stay.The double points should go immediately in my view a farce.
