  1. I see the weather forecast is more favourable now with the risk of rain dropping to 5%. . so I see no reason why this meeting will not run..... Sticking to my original thought of 48 -42 home win...... meaning the Stars get a welcome away point.......
  2. For the life of me, I don't understand how the BSPA could contradict the directives from the FIM on our allotted preference race nights. Once the governing body had made a ruling, surely we as a affiliated body take that on board. There should be no discussion or vote on it, these directives were made for the good of the sport, giving control of meeting priority. The BSPA should have excepted ruling as law. The Clubs should have been informed of this ruling and told this league will be running the PL on Mondays and Thursdays, and Championship will run on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The only discussion and decision the clubs should have been given was which league and what day they wanted to partake in. If Ipswich, Sheffield or Redcar insisted on running on Thursdays, then fair enough, they should be competing in the PL. If they wanted to stay in the Championship then they would have to change racenights. Its not Rocket science. There is not much difference between the two divisions, illustrated by the number of riders that ride in them both. By giving individual clubs the opportunity to contradict a FIM directives , highlights what a self-righteous shambles the BSPA are. How can other countries take us serious when we make decisions like that . If the BSPA are saying the individual clubs are more important than the FIM , then that would illustrate why our speedway has dropped from being the best in the world to now also rans......
  3. I've got a 2014 Wolves Programme where he scored 10 +1 from 4 rides , so he weren't that bad..... It showed he knows how to ride that track... if nothing else....
  4. I think all talk of covers is an unnecessary expense and not required. If the rain continues to fall the meeting would never be on any way. If the raining had stopped, our track is as good as at other when it comes to draining the water. When the track was sodden, I have witnessed Buster and his gang, scrape the top off and relay new shale and have it racable within an hour. That situation is probably unique to Lynn because of the concrete infield, allowing the old wet shale to be bladed off the track to dry out. Buster has all the equipment required to lay a new track , whereas others are not that fortunate. The main issues with the weather is not the track conditions , but the lack of spectator numbers that turn up , making the meeting a financial disaster. Track covers would not make any difference to that problem....
  5. What a joke !! The fact that Lynn agreed to this meeting tells me all that we need to be know. We cancel meetings because of the effect the weather would have on the crowd and then arrange to run a meeting when half a team is missing . You couldn't make this up...... Why not switch this fixture to Thursday when all the riders could've rode, or just give Swindon the points without bothering to race, it would save the embarrassment, it cuts-out the financial outlay, it would save hours of work and let the sport be left to die quicker...... You can add me to the list of those not bothering to go ....... .
  6. Thinking about this match and Posts so far, there' been no mention of Ty Proctor, who use to ride at Monmore. Has started the season well and scoring good points wherever he rides. He could be our secret weapon as a third heatleader. He has to be pleased with the start he's made and no doubt will fancy his chances of scoring a few more points... It might finish closer then I first imagined... Did think about making the trip this year, but with Promoters cancelling at the first sight of rain, its a long way to go when the weather forecast looks decidingly dodgy.....
  7. Was surprised there was not a thread already started., so thinking either the interest in the match is low , or probably the weather forecasting rain. either way it doesn't show much enthusiasm. For my two pennies worth, I think this one of the hardest places to go and get a result. But saying that most of our riders have been there before and know the ropes, also most of our team are reasonable gaters, so who knows a point could be possible.. Am going for a 48-42 home win.....
  8. Going back in time offers little comparison as todays sport cant be compared as you as doing. Back then, UK had total dominance of the sport and riders were always available. Now we are 4th in the pecking order and any re-arranged matches have to correspond with other schedules. The reason the BSPA elected to go with said race nights was because of the problems with fixture clashes. Looking at our planned fixture calender, we are fast running out of dates for these re-arranged matches, and that's providing other countries leave them free to use. As per normal, I try to look at the bigger picture when making comments, and it is for these reasons I post my views. I hope Buster can sort out these new dates that will enable us to race with a full team. Also, I hope we don't get any more rain on racenights causing more cancellations. But unfortunately, I'm not too confident on either.....
  9. Well apparently, it did put the 'Mockers' on a Wolves win. Congratulation to RH on a good performance, especially coming from behind early on. Of all the teams visiting RH I thought Wolves would possibly win more than others would. Those who questioned KK to race here, sure had their thoughts answered tonight.... Once a talented rider, always a talented rider....
  10. My Post wasn't about the amount of rain, but the dilemma of cancelling meeting and the implication it creates. Thinking sometimes it might be better to gamble with the weather then automatically cancel the meeting. Weather forecast vary tremendously from area to area, and nobody know 100% how the night might pan out. Rye House gambled tonight and ran their meeting, Belle Vue gambled on Monday and completed their meeting, What I said was PROBABLY we could have done the same...
  11. Why that??? We in Wisbech had plenty of rain yesterday, but this morning the roads and garden were dry. and apart from a few scattered showers today has been OK. I am in no doubt the reason the meeting has been called off, is not the track, but mainly due to the affect the iffy weather would have on the attendance. But personally I think its a false economy. You cant compare like for like, and assume the weather will be better when the re-arranged fixture is played. Buster called off meetings last year early, when they could have raced, resulting in 2 double header that were financial disasters. This is the fifth Lynn meeting this year to be cancelled, and some how they have all to be re-arranged in a hectic schedule. Probably it would have been better financially to have persevered with tonight then trying to fix extra meetings in later on in the season. Double headers are a financial lost, and planning 2 meetings in a week is always asking a lot of the fans. Bearing these points in mind, probably tonight's weather is not as bad and some seem to think. Am I right to assume every time we have a suspect forecast the meeting will be cancelled? If that's the case than we may as well pack it in now .....
  12. Kennett can be relied upon to get double figures at home and will be a big loss. Hoddesdon is a tight track with precise lines that does give the home side a big advantage, however, although Monmore is a different length it has similar precise lines and should suit Wolves better than most. Wolves on a roll and team performing above average, RH have not started too well, all these points add up in Wolves favour.. Can only see Wolves a win. NB That's bound to put the Mockers on them
  13. Losing Kennett is massive blow at Home. and gives Wolves a tremendous lift. Can only see an away win
  14. Bachelor's ability has never been in doubt. Its his Attitude, Arrogance, and Self importance that fans don't like. If his persona wasn't so self driven, then probably he would have the support his talent deserves. If you remember 2 yrs ago every Swindon fans were well pleased he left. No-body had a good word for him... Its amazing how quick they can forget this...
  15. The hot laps went down well last week. As someone who arrives early, it was nice to have something going on to get the fans excited before the meeting... Speaking to a friend who is always last to get here, he said it really annoyed him that he could hear the bikes going round, and wanted to be inside watching. He said he will come early from now on. Bearing that in mind, hopefully, we shouldn't need to delay the start any more waiting for those latecomers to get in. So being proactive, these 'Hot Laps' idea, has 3 benefits. 1, Added entertainment for the fans, 2, Provides additional track practice for the riders, and 3, It will do away with late starts.... Well done that man, How long will it be before all tracks offer something similar......
  16. After another thrashing last night at Wolves, no doubt the Pirates will be extra motivated come Wednesday. It don't make our job any easier, and I still expect them to put up a far better performance on our track. Everyone who goes to Wolves have their backs against the wall, so it is never a surprise to lose, only the size of the lost. I still believe this is a good time to compete against them and expect a tight home win. Whether they can get a point will depend on how they approach the night.... Only a fool would dismiss them though......
  17. That's some devotion. I thought I was one of the worst culprits having been to them all except 4 . so I take my hat off to you. The track a BV is a bit special and I hope you see a cracking match. I always enjoyed my visit to Manchester, Hyde Park was a majestic old track and held some brilliant BLRC meeting there. I didn't go a lot on the old one, but this NSS is what all speedway track should be like now. catering for the ultra fast bikes. I have no doubts you will see a some brilliant racing.... Hope the rain stays away....
  18. Don't like to hear of riders getting injured. We aren't but a few weeks in to the new season and already the numbers are mounting up. Going back to them 'good ole days' riders only rode twice a week, meaning accidents were fewer and injuries were even less. Bikes were much slower and far easier to control. Now riding 4/5 times a week, hoping on planes during 4 countries has to take its toll. Because of this, I would imagine the sport is far more dangerous now and accident are considered par for the course. Like I say I don't like all these injuries..... Pity the people in charge didn't put more emphasis on riders safety....
  19. Merely a layman's opinion, but to the eye Monmore has a unique shape that requires a different approach than other tracks. . Always well prepared, it has long straights and tight corners this create many problems to unexperienced riders. The difference we have at Lynn is that most riders like to come here and race. Our home advantage is very little. That's not a moan, merely an observation. I actually enjoy evenly contested matches, even when we lose.
  20. This will be a big test for our new team. Poole always goes well here and I cant see this being any different. Most of their riders relish the opportunity on this track, so we need to be all guns blazing . I feel we are capable of winning this , but it will be tight.. I think we will have to rely on wining heats 13 and 15 to sneak all the points....
  21. Such a precise track that gives the home side a massive advantage. Although most teams are fairly equal in strengths, some will always find Monmore track difficult to master. Poole have never performed well here, but have the personnel to put up a strong showing. I don't rate Wolves as strong as some others do, and feel riding at home covers up their weaknesses. Thorsell, Masters an Schlein are good heat leaders at home, but all are beatable away. Howarth is the jewel in the crown who is capable of beating most when it maters. I'm going for a home win, but wont be surprised if Poole sneak a point......
  22. I have always been a fan of KB. and feel Leicester have acquired a more than adequate replacement for Vaculik. Immaculately turned out, with exceptional machinery, he is a ideal example of a true professional. An exceptional gater who wins more races than most, will add to Leicester's team strength. Grouping KB with King and Andersen makes the Lions formidable. I think Swindon have started well and have performed above expectations. I cant imagine anybody expected them to thrash Poole last week, so for that reason one has to assume they will push Leicester to the limit. It will be interesting to see how their reserves perform on a precise track. I also think this will be a close call, with Swindon getting at least a point. NB: I seem to remember last year Batchelor guested for Swindon and scored 12, 2 days later he rode there again for Lynn and scored 2. Same venue, same opposition, different mindset. ........... I wonder which one will turn up on Monday !!!
  23. Looking forward to this one, It should be a close call. The fact that Killer is riding surely makes Poole a stronger unit and any success would taste even sweeter. Its pleasing Holder wont be riding, the last thing we want to hear about is all the bad feelings he created last year. Lets move on and concentrate on our new team and a new season. The damage Holder done last season will never be forgotten, but it would be wrong if this remained the governing factor between both these teams.....
  24. I am in no doubt Batchelor would have given his all to beat them horrible people from East Anglia in heat 15. . It would have made little difference on what he was being paid, or that the points had already been decided, cause he hates Kings Lynn with a vengeance, - and that is what makes the result even sweeter. Only a fool would dismiss the Robins at home, so to push them pretty close I thought we performed impressively. Looking at the scores of last night, we have to be confident of contesting well with all the teams we have to meet on our travels.... That for the predicted Wooden Spoonist, is bound to put egg on quite a few faces....
