  1. Indeed but thats where the promotion have to show their worth. When the Witches switched there were similar concerns but crowds actually stabilised and then increased due to what was a more consistent offering Granted being more competitive than we had been for some time is very likely to have had as positive an impact as any other factor
  2. The way I read that is that the CL costs about 75% compared to PL therefore costs are 3 quarters the top level figures That would seem more realistic to me given many costs (rent, insurance, track maintenance etc) are pretty much fixed whichever league Rider points costs perhaps halved therefore an overall reduction of 25% looks a realistic position
  3. If it's not possible for Tues/Weds (not sure if the stadium is available for these days even btw) then it will be the following Monday at the earliest as the stadium is unavailable due to a huge stock car event at the weekend
  4. Have seen him a number of times over the last few years and he has impressed at Foxhall a couple of times even before this year 2019 was certainly a breakthrough season for him but it would take some effort to maintain that let alone improve further It is one of the problems needing to have a points limit that riders making such a rapid improvement become a big risk the following year
  5. Good luck to any team that can build a side with the 3rd heat leader on an average of nearly 8!! I'd be surprised if Jensen starts anywhere in the PL with that figure round his neck
  6. Hadn't Cook insisted on amendments and not signed? (Which later were not made and therefore it didn't happen)
  7. I think Swindon fans have every right to be confident and shouldn't hold back from being so All else being equal they should win quite comfortably overall and probably should win both legs I just hope they dont
  8. Harris at Foxhall could be the key - average not much over 5 at home in 2019 but capable of double figures and lowering the colours of any rider if he gets it right Time for a spectacular finish Bomber.....
  9. Wipe out that middle result and I'd settle for the other 2 being repeated Unlikely to be enough but very few if any would expect the Witches to win our home leg let alone overall Any advantage at least keeps us in the contest and well you never know what can happen after that We certainly cant win it in the first leg - even if some how we won by 20 we still wouldn't be favourites! Whatever happens the boys have done the Witches proud but cant say it wouldn't be great to be Champions.......
  10. For once Starman is making some sense. He is saying that the difference between PL and CL is smaller than ever as demonstrated by riders averages being similar in both leagues where they double up. Back 'in the day' you could about half the 2nd tier average to see how a rider would score in the top league. Now we have riders at No1 for their teams at both levels
  11. Brain fade from me - I was convinced a couple if fixtures were after the average cut off date and of course thought the supporters cup were included As a side note- just because the regs quote something doesn't mean it happens. This year the CL states league and shield but last year they didn't despite the shield fixtures counting.....Plus when it suits they are ignored anyway
  12. Chocolate sponsorship opportunity too ....
  13. I was sure that the sets issued early season were including the supporters cup meetings???? Oh well perhaps not.... Why would matches after 23rd Sept not be included in the final averages? The season runs til the end of Oct (officially) so any meeting that meets the criteria should be included in the final averages Any other scenario would be a farce..... ah ok its speedway so that suits
  14. Not quite - any qualifying meetings after 23rd Sept will go into an updated final listing (league and supporters cup count)
  15. And quite possibly little if any profit from that directly
  16. A bit harsh Baldy I wouldn't say I particularly dislike him just that I've never really taken to him. His brother mind I DO particularly dislike
  17. Surely that's down to the fact that an ongoing use shows some need for that to be retained whilst leaving it to sit fallow means they can argue it no good for anything else and improves the planning chances
  18. Nightmare more like I don't share Guy's enthusiasm on the subject
