Is It Time To Re-introduce Tape Touching?
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv replied to IainB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Nothing wrong with the existing set up apart fron how far back from the tape some (many!) riders are. The regs do have a distance stated as a requirement (7.5cm?) but many are 4 times that back - often drawing back after the start marshall has stepped forward before creeping forward to gain advantage without touching the tape. Perhaps what is needed is a new reg whereby any rider drawing back after the start marshall has moved is punished as if the have touched the tape. -
Premier League - Too Big A Step?
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv replied to Truro Robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Non Brits coming in on 5 and 7 should not be allowed to drop below these levels (or perhaps a floor at 6 and 4 respectively) This would mean the young Brits would be be more attractive even if struggling to maintain the assessed 3. Also agree that a reduction to 2 could be considered along with a draft in the PL. -
same here - infact im sure most Boro fans would say i dont like them very much!!And TJ is a rider Id be very happy to see as a Witch in the future. Still saw it as a poor left turn move this time and personally felt he could/should have been excluded. All 4 wasnt the worst decision in the world though and probably 9/10 times would go that way.

Redcar V Somerset Thursday 9th July
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv replied to pvm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Interestingly on the BSPA site there are detailed reviews of the nights other matches and just one line for this one. Also links to official ref scorecards (complete with averages) for the other two but not this one! Agree with above posts re timing of protests re line ups. I believe they were rewritten last year to avoid post meeting protests and amendments wherever possible. It may be harsh on Somerset but it seems they didnt protest in time. Think this will rumble on a bit more yet!! -
Eddie was excellent agreed.Maassen was sharp out of the gate a couple of times agreed but yes he was that bad after. Like a scalded cat from the gate but like a dead one round the bends. Also disagree re Greenwood to an extent. Yes not always quick but always in control and his 2nd place passing and repassing Stefan was the race of the night! Shouldve got an extra ride in 14 although can see why Rye wanted Maassen to have more track time

Tough one to call - Berwick on the back foot after poor performances but surely looking for a backlash. Witches improved but not yet fully fluent and needing to pick up points to put themselves back in the picture as challengers. Agree with Baldyman that should be disappointed if they fail to get even a point. Hoping for more but not confident or expecting it. Up the Witches!!

Mistake by the ref to allow it also. -
I dont think its a case of anybody falling for the bleating - the vast majority are quite capable of making their own minds up. And most have decided that Nicki has been out of order a few too many times. So much so that Id agree there are times now when he is hard done by and it almost seems like he has lost the right to the benefit of any doubt in any incident. Also agree with SCB when he says that once Nicki hangs up his gloves he will leave a big hole (one big enough for even him to get through without contact - wink)

exactly so should a visa be granted when the direct result is a Brit losing his job?I dont think.that UKVI would look favoravly on that. In fact legally Zengota as an EU national losing his job could be viewed the same way. -

Wow where did that come from for NKI. Blew them away! Shame for Tai but still a great night stretching his lead almost as much as his ears. -
