  1. Looks like anybody that posts on here from Sheff may well have left before he went out. Or might just be at work and not seen the requests for info!!
  2. Cam Heeps was.planning some after meeting laps to start his comeback. Did that happen? If so how did he look? Cheers edit just seen Blackadders post on the Witches thread confirming it happened. Thanks. Any thoughts on how he looked fron anyone?
  3. Good win for the Bears. Perhaps the shot in the arm to rekindle the positivity of a few???
  4. Totally agree that it is right for Chris to come out and back Phil. If he didnt then the only other choice would be to sack him. If there are any aspects of Phils approach to the job that Chris isnt 100% happy with then I wouldnt expect to hear about in in the media at all either. Quite rightly that should/would be in house. I hope its all a clean slate and move forward positively from here.
  5. A poor pole in for a young Brit (albeit struggling). But you chose to go heavy up top so cant expect it all at reserve as well!! However Greenwood last night looked as good as I have ever seen Konopka ride. This is whats killing British speedway.
  6. heads you win tails you win. Howe comes good happy days for you as you managed to replace a 5.67 rider with a 7.33 rider despite being over the limit (had the available rules been applied) If not you get rid before the end of the month and have a point and a half more to play with than you shoukd have.
  7. rule is the one rider above and all below. Sarjeant listed to ride at 2 so todays interpretation of the rule is everyone can take an r/r as No1 is above him in the programme and the rest are all below. Ratified by the MC in the best interests of speedway as its a Sky match.wink
  8. I liked Jonnys post above mostly for the last line. I think thats what we all want. Also agree with the general sentiment albeit that these 2 conversations were rather more candid than most sporting interviews.
  9. With no meeting to discuss for another 9 days this thread could descend into chaos! It will be just like being in the pits mid meeting! wink
  10. that statement is far too simplistic IMO.Nothing is ever that black and white. Neither side is totally right and neither side totally to blame. Time to draw and line and move on perhaps??
  11. on the flip side how many meetings with r/r before and not gone with Ritchie in that slot? If there was a change of plan wouldnt the TM have discussed it with the captain before the meeting?Would be 2 on the trot for Ritchie so who was dropping who in it with only a couple of mins before a race??
  12. A fair and reasoned point added by Cyclone. You may well be right in your assumption for the MC decision. However in then becomes a subjective opinion rather than fact and renders averages and the points limit impotent. Imagine if a riders scores were going down prior to injury and the MC ruled as a result the replacement could only be6 a point under as a result.Quite rightly people would find that laughable. Also agree that the word 'may' in the regs is the problem and it has no place there IMO.
  13. one of the stupid posts i have ever seen on this forum!! I resent you trying to imply me wanting a rider injured whoever it was and whenever it happens My comments have nothing to do with Kozza being injured or when it happened. The manipulation is bringing in a rider on a HIGHER average whatever the circumstances. The change shouldve been like for like.
  14. I will try to explain. As at the 15th Sarjeant had ridden sufficient meetings to gain a real averages. As you say effective from 19th as per NORMAL 7 day rule. HOWEVER there is a sub section to the regulations stating that upon REDCLARATION this can be effective IMMEDIATELY. Hence IMO any replacement for Kozza shouldve had to have been below his average. Now it is a discretionary application so as it has been agreed by the MC not to apply it is a legal change. What is frustrating is that perfectly sensible rules that are there to stop manipulation such as this are NOT applied yet there are also "rules" that dont actually exist that are.
  15. of course it does - he comes in on an average 0.81 higher and shouldnt have been allowed. Sarjeants real average shouldve been used for the redeclaration as the rules allow. Why have rules and not apply them??!!
  16. just a rare bit of laptop usage. Back on phone now. WinkI think its a shame it has ended this way for Ritchie. Since he joined he has generally performed above the level most expected from him and at times was holding the team together with his work as skipper. I think he may well have been able to get back to that level with the right handling. Perhaps he has quit because he didnt think that the neccessary changes would happen. Welcome to the Witches Ashley. Very pleased to see us go for a young Brit. I hope he gets the patience from everyone to develop and improve.
  17. '' its gonna be a late one'' according to Mike Bacon. Is that because nothing can happen until Chris has finished his Sky stint!!
  18. Just checked on the team declaration download. :o Very surprised Howe is at 7.41 Given that then the move shouldn't have been allowed IMO.
  19. yes i did comment that if they wanted a rider with a higher average than Smith then Sarjeant should get the new average which would block it.Isnt Howe under Smith so like for like anyway??
  20. you can fit it Sayfutdinov and still have room for Nicki P for Allen. wink
  21. 5 - as would any non brit and as per Beerhuts cat list some would be higher. Only option is a 3 point NL or someone with an established average under Ritchies 4.50 (3.46 if left until after July 1st) Possibility of a facility for a month I suppose in same way as Rye had for Bowen.
