Indeed Ward has said himself that Lakeside would have took him so lakeside were seriously in the frame and were willing to spend the money . All teams can make changes if Swindon make the better one's then bully for them .

Can't agree on most of that ..as I said clubs with no gp starts and low budget teams are in big trouble . if you get a big enough crowd you can pay top riders and make it work. You don't to have to have 3 gp riders in fact seeing there is only 8 teams and only 15 gp riders then it can't happen anyhow . Poole have one of the highest wage bills but are one of the only clubs who see a profit and I know Terry Russell have been very happy with the figures at Swindon even thou they now have two gp riders and the extra fans Ward is bringing in he is almost paying for himself as well as bringing in fans when he rides away . So just to write it off as we can't pay top riders is untrue . Year in year out we bring in the same rules that make teams weaker and we lose more fans and then people come up with a great idea . lets cut costs and lower the standard again , in all the mad idea's I see on here running pl and el matches not on the same night is one of the better one's and might help bringing back some better riders and well as stopping riders in each league missing so many matches .

We have been cutting costs and teams strengths for last 20 years ..it's not worked . PL teams are in massive trouble due to poor crowds and have no gp riders . in what other sport or anything would you be trying get rid of the people who are likely to bring the crowds in ? We need find a way to bring better riders back not turn them away so the standard go's up in all leagues

I don't used Poole as the nor as a rule ..due to great support they get hence they can still run a solo event and make it pay

The knock out cup was stopped as clubs losing money running the meetings due to lack of fans ..formats like that are dead at EL level . The sport has not made progress no one has said that it had ...that does not mean that we should bring idea's that have no chance of working these days ..your just another old speedway fan who only wants things to be like when you went . Do you ever stop and think why Golden Helmets ,2nd Halfs etc were stopped in the first place ?

Are you going to paid the money all these meetings cost clubs ?...surely you understand that fans don't go to shield matches or knock cup matches anymore hence why were scrapped in the first place

And that is point people were making ..it quite clear as has been shown how stupid and unfair that rule was but it never stopped them from going ..so when they say the new rule stops them it can't be true unless they were lying to themselves .

To pay the bills you have at least even that does mean you have get rid all the top riders and high earners a lot of them paid for themselves ...not sure if you noticed but a lot of pl teams who no star riders and not being able to pay bills or break even . Never understood why by getting rid of top riders why speedway is going to start paying for itself and get the crowds back .

I love darts and lot of my friends do the same as cricket but none of us play it . Maybe they should put fishing on at prime time as loads of people fish .Speedway used to be massive but doubt most of crowds were speedway riders .

No it's not. there is no sport where team can use a sub when the other can't when just because they are losing ...it similar to nothing . Maybe in cricket the same player should allowed to bat twice just because they are getting beat ...that is just as much mickey mouse

Untrue as under the double points rule Gundersen would not allowed to be put in heat 8 .only under the old rules were World Champions etc allowed to come out and take on number 7's

Correct it's not hard really . the stats have been quite clear that the old tac changed the overall result of match far more that the new rule ever has. you don't have to very clever to work that out .

Or perhaps it was because under the new rules you can't change your Number 7 with your No 1 . The bottom line both rules were stupid and unfair .

So as has been said if had been about silly tac subs who would have stopped going years ago . if fans don't go because of double points rule but went when the tac sub was around then they are worth worrying about as there views are hypocritical . What it boils down to all the time is old speedway fans just wanting the rules to be the same when they went .

Spot on ...he admitted that old rule was stupid but carried on going ...that proves that it was not the rules . There has always stupid rules in speedway nothing has changed in that respect .

Not seen one fan said everything is Hunky Dory or there nothing to worry about so your telling lies to start off with . what has been said if going moan about rules at least come with something that is workable bar going back to the old days so a few over 70 years come back or a brain dead idea to rid the uk of the remaining riders that the fans pay money to see .There are clubs in the pl who no star riders in there side who find themselves in big trouble due to small crowds ..
