  1. Wow thats and incredibly bold statement both were phenomenal from 1984 -89 when Erik suffered his accident then Hans carried on up until the mid 90's Never Nielsens biggest fan much preferred Erik but there is no getting away from just how good both were. If Erik hasnt had suffered his accident he also would have carried on with Hans dominating for more years. Two absolute legends of the shale and Carter, as good as he was, cant be mentioned in the same breath when talking about top riers in the sport
  2. why don't you do everyone a favour and stop posting your crap. Kenneth Bjerre, Linus Sundstron, Micheal Jepsen Jensen and Tomas H Jonasson have all been the subject of affection and now it's Jason Doyle. You clearly are not right in the head to keep doing what you do on here yet somehow you don't get banned its quite pathetic
  3. the Danes would have had the measure of the 2 Brits I think. Sanders may have nicked one but Sigalos ankle injury certainly robbed him. Watch you tube footage of him in a run off against Nielsen lining him up and passing him easily. Carter wouldn't have ever been champion and I think by 1985 Lee's days were over at top level
  4. i have but with the possible exception of G Laguta the others would do well to get top 8. As I say Emil and Darcy are missing as contenders, Emil through choice and Darcy doesn't deserve to be there
  5. As far as i can tell the only one missing who could be world champ is Emil. I dont count Ward as missing as it was his own fault and doesnt deserve to be riding so doesnt deserve to be World Champion. Emil is choosing not to ride.
  6. i know and its perfectly reasonable choice chris............4..............gillian lol just knew that would be his choice. Probably got Magic 2nd and Hancock 3rd! so if you think Hancock Pedersen and Hampel should be higher then you would have riders like Tai KK and Iversen low down. Think it shows its a good field!!
  7. Starman in 'picks Poole rider to be world champion shock'
  8. i can see Magic coming between 7th and 11th. think he will be fine on the bigger european tracks but may struggle on the smaller temporary ones. For example cant see him scoring weel at Cardiff, could be wrong Doyle , MJJ and Jonasson will have good meetings and poor ones. For me Batchelor and Harris will be tailed off as the last 2. This is my gp table: 1. Kasprzak 2. Tai 3. Iversen 4. Zagar 5. Hancock 6. Holder 7. Pedersen 8. Hampel 9. Janowski 10. Jonsson 11. Jepsen Jensen 12. Doyle 13. Jonasson 14. Batchelor 15. Harris
  9. Tai had an awful start last season and injuries. Missing the uk and no pressure of being world champion should enable him to regain his crown. I can see KK on the rostrum and can you rule out Nicki and Greg? Cant see anyone else really. Zagar to inconsistant for me. Depends how fit Iversen is as well
  10. I used to love watching Carter but in World finals he used to have a good first 3 rides then implode. Dont think he would have ever been world champ as the danes were coming along when he ended his own life. Mike Lee could have been anything but was a waster basically who wouldnt put up with rules and played the wild child. Yes Ebdon and Eglese were idiots but Lee didnt help himself. The others namely Erik changed
  11. nobody is knocking Cook for riding premier league to earn money. we know the risk these guys take and they are entitled to earn as much as they can in the short time they are a speedway rider. if Cook tried hard enough as current british number 2 im sure someone would take him on in Poland. Lewis Bridger went out and did it and he isnt in Cooks class. i think Cook is happy doing what he is doing over here but he isnt giving himself the opportunity to be the best he can. As ive said if he becomes British Champ this season, or makes the gp's i will eat humble pie but i feel he has reached his maximum
  12. dont have a problem with Cook at all always great to see the best in the premier when they visit. i just think he has reached his peak
  13. Nothing to do with being an expert its an opinion. If Cook gets to elite league heat leader averaging over 8, gets to the gp challenge, then i will admit i was wrong. My OPINION is he wont do either meaning his career has levelled out
  14. well look a bit deeper into it then. with the exception of Barker the others all have ridden abroad. And Barker has not been as good as Cook. The others tried and failed and as of yet Cook hasnt tried. ok so maybe he is trying to ride out there but failing. Then he needs to ask himself why. Effectively he is British number 4 yet cant get a ride in Poland. Do they deem him not good enough? Or is he not marketing himself properly? Nobody is knocking the guy for riding Premier to earn money. But lets face it his career has stalled , he isnt getting any younger, and he may be left thinking what if
  15. you do write some wierd things. but yes in a nutshell Cook isnt in Doyles class
  16. please understand what I write! Brady had average issues last season and Holder this season. Both Somerset riders. Is that to hard for you to understand?
  17. im not saying he isn't happy riding where he is riding I'm not saying that it isn't good for Edinburgh but if you want to reach the top then you need to push yourself. If he has dreams of riding gp then he needs to get himself abroad. What is he going to learn from another season at Edinburgh? To best the riders he already has beaten over the last 2 seasons. If anything his form went backwards last year and I believe Cook is not going to get any better. He doesn't have age on his side so he needs to try and grasp his career while he can
  18. good luck having an opinion against starman mate lol he cant see another view and cant debate. For what its worth they tried to get Brady Kurtz for a 3 last year to be told its 5 This season they try and get Holder for a 5 when he is a 7 Same club. Either they dont read the rules or they are trying to pull a fast one.
  19. Another strong looking team though not as good as last year should still see you make the play offs. Dont blame you for wanting Cook back but cant believe he hasnt made the step up full time and tried to get contracts elsewhere abroad. Lack of ambition clearly evident. Last season Cook didnt progess and i think he has reached his level. You would expect him to easily hold down a heat leader berth in the elite but he is a second string. He will always be a top premier rider, an avaerage elite rider, and will never make the gp's in a million years
  20. Have i just read Steve Worrall for Team gb? Do we want to try and win things or do well? Tai, Bomber, Cook, Stead, King, Barker, all miles ahead of Worrall Im in the opinion of picking the best team available, and riders like Birks, Worrall, Newman are not good enough to ride for team gb now or in the future. The only rider who could breakthrough is Lambert
  21. really? In 30 years of watching speedway I never knew if you finished over the limit you had to lose riders. I just don't think we are that strong that's all. Teams like Edinburgh , Somerset , Workington for example finish over the limit every year yet still in some cases come back stronger the next year. Teams like Rye House and Glasgow come under the limit yet seem to always struggle so I don't go along with the theory that you are weaker because you have to change riders. It's how you build your team. I hope we can be challenging and I see us as top 6 but not enough to make the extra step. You need to win away from home in this league and I can't see it happening a lot. Just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong
  22. The more i look at our team the more worried i am. Out have gone Worrall, Risager and Ellis In are King, Covatti and Nielsen. Personally that makes us look weaker in my eyes. we have lost 2 heat leaders and a reserve we have got 1 heat leader and 2 reserves massive pressure on Gino and Cam
  23. I will happily take it on unless anyone has an issue
  24. i dont know, which is why in my quote i called it an OPINION. Mine is Hansen will do well to maintain his average and will struggle on seeing some away tracks for the first time. Bach has reached his level as far as i can see. If you dont have an out and out number 1 banging in big scores i think you will struggle. I have nothing against Workington ( well apart from the jenga troll!) and love them coming to Foxhall great set of fans. If you read the Ipswich thread i said we will fall short and might make top 6. In my opinion Somerset, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Peterborough and yes possibly Ipswich look stronger than Workington.
