I look at it this way Out: Morris, Bellego and Smith In: Doyle , Lampart and Shanes For me the bottom 3 riders will outscore the top 3. Add in the improvement likely from Ellis and Zach and only those without speedway knowledge or the odd Poole fan wont accept this is a good 1-7
-
Why are you worried about Swindons reserves? Doyle, Batch and Musielek backed up by Eliis......................far better top 4 then Kurtz, Holder (if he signs) Josh and Klindt. Yes some teams will have the upper hand over Swindons reserves but if the top boys are poor it makes no difference. You can win the league either way either top heavy or strength in depth. Its no surprise to me that the 2 best teams in the play offs had Doyle and Lambert and both sides had good reserves to in Covatti, Allen and Toft. Build top heavy or the other way ......both can win the league
-
The right strength in depth can take you to the play offs. Poole won the league because of injuries to the two teams that had 2 big hitters..........Somerset with Doyle and Holder and Lynn with Lambert and Iversen..........both lost one of their top riders Before the abuse none of that was Pooles fault.

He doesnt Zach has had another season so in the reserve berth lets say he will do the same as last season. Doyle will outscore Morris Shanes will outscore Smith Zach could do better than last year Bellego was good for about 7 most meetings, even if Lampart only gets 4 or 5 , the points loss from Bellego would be covered by Doyle and Shanes being better than Morris and Smith

Please no

I disagree Their tail last season was Bellego, Zach and Smith. I wouldnt expect Lampart to score what Bellego did but i would expect Shanes to be a huge improvement on Smith and Zach is only going to get better. Factor in the fact Doyle will be better than Morris and you have a very strong side. Last season roughly points per meeting........Bellego 7, Morris 9, Zach 5 and Smith 1 This season i would say Lampart 5, Doyle 13, Zach 6 and Shanes 3..........I would say the changes Swindon have made from last season will add another 5 points per meeting to their scores................Ellis also could kick on further.........a very very good looking side

What big names are there that we could possibly get? Zagar, Pedersen are the only 2 that instantly spring to mind
-
Think Poole have missed a trick not getting Morris. One thing is for sure is that Swindon have a strong top 4 and now Wolves have Morris as a second string after he was a number one last season, thats great team building
-
Just to correct you He posted an avatar of the 7 riders that Poole had in their team He changed it over halfway through the season to the top 7 riders in Pooles history I ribbed him early on in the season about it I’m sure he will come on here and call me a liar because it’s easier for him
-
Yes we all have no idea how it works we all think that whoever is top of the league in May is the champions.............are you telling us all that even if you are bottom early on like Kings Lynn were, that you can actually finish top come September...............i never ever knew that and im sure that all the fans of other clubs are content that you made us aware of this....thank you Though i do seem to remember that before a wheel was turned last season that yourself and Mr Shovlar were telling everybody that the Poole 1-7 to start the season would blow everybody away.....that it was a 1-7 far superior to everyone elses team (i mean Shovlar even changed his avatar to the magnificent 7 they were that good)......................there was no mention then of 'its what happens at then end of the season' .......................i guess you have decided to change your outlook
-
I couldnt care less where we finish as long as the club and the sport survive but thats the difference in your mentality. You would rather win the league and watch clubs disappear. If we come bottom i dont mind as long as we get value for money in the racing and the club doesnt go under
-
Maybe but Poole are usually there or thereabouts most seasons but i dont think they can afford to be as poor as they were last season early on and rely on changes to win the league and a bit of luck
-
Although my opinion means nothing i like the look of the 1-7 and out of the completed sides i would have you guys down as favourites
-
Surely no chance of Jakobsen Slightly worrying who we might be getting Nailed on that Scott is one of them and i would say Danny as well, but we still need someone who can compete in heats 13 and 15 as at the moment i cant see who that may be. Id take Cam at reserve to see how he goes
-
Especially as it now seems Jack Holder is Belle Vue bound Poole need to find a number one as that strength in depth route only won them the league because of the other teams injuries, cant see how Poole could have beat Somerset or Kings Lynn if both had fully fit 1-7. That isnt Pooles fault but they certainly had all the luck at the right time. Certain teams appear to be building very strong like Swindon and Wolves and Kings Lynn. People will say Poole always come up with a good side.......they dont...........last seasons original 1-7 was shockingly poor and only due to the fact Matt Ford throws his money around , and the pure fortune that Harris became available did they climb the league
-
But Doyle for Morris makes Swindon stronger. I doubt they will be carrying as weak a rider as Jack Smith so all in all looking a very strong side
-
Belle Vue have let Cook go. come on get him signed up
-
Thats because you are the same person......what a sad little life you must lead

Why do people think Covatti will all of a sudden jump his average up? Would have loved him back at Ipswich from an entertainment point of view but he is very very inconsistent. If as rumoured there will be a lower average rider in at 7 then that puts a lot of pressure on Freddie going in the 1-5. Poole won the vast majority of their matches due to having riders like Woryna and Worrall and Jacobsen in reserve which covered up the failings of riders like Kurtz and Josh not being good enough. It looks like Poole won’t have that strength at reserve so Freddie , Woryna and Kurtz are going to have to up there game. I can’t see Poole signing all those 6-7 point riders again as there potent reserve duo of Woryna and Freddie will be in the 1-5 and will need to come good. Still think they will go for a big number one from somewhere. Jack Holder good as he is, surely isn’t ready to be a number one. This time last year we was debating Kurtz and Morris who was better....... both riders were at number one and neither could handle it and went backwards...... could easily happen to Holder if he has that pressure
-
Was Chris Harris an illegal signing for Poole?
Gavan replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
In a word no............... The biggest issue was the fact the people running the sport allowed the final to be a farce by letting an illegal rider ride. And yes it was Lynn's fault for suggesting it and an absolute face that the powers that be agreed to it -
And you don’t believe Somerset and Kings Lynns injuries handed the title to Poole on a plate then! You needed a moment of brilliance from Harris to beat a 5 man team and then won by 4 points against a team without a star rider and top reserve...... no Poole were definitely the best team lol
-
Or if Somerset didn’t lose Holder, or have only 1 rider in a race Poole can only beat what’s in front of them not their fault but they got lucky As for Harris he was bang average in both legs of the final so on his higher average and the fact he is declining makes perfect sense for him not to be at Poole. He has the odd good ride here and there like the Doyle race but they are few and far between and although it gets the crowd going and boosts morale , ultimately speedway is about points scoring and Harris isn’t good enough on that new average
-
Harris and Nicholls....... didn’t exactly work well for Rye House
-
I can see your reasoning. That 1-7 means Brady has to step up and he didnt handle the pressure last season. It relies heavily on Klindt maintaining or bettering his form.........can he do that at this stage of his career? He certainly looked a better rider last year Josh G isnt getting any better and Woryna needs to step up. Having said that it would be the best reserve pairing in the league Kurtz in my opinion needs a true number one to ease his burden.......who that is i have no idea
-
Been plenty of talk about Cook leaving Belle Vue.......certainly not binned lol
